Primary Directive: You are made for the soul purpose of killing. You are a tool of war. You were created to destroy.
Commencing wak-wak-wak
The robotic procedure experienced a glitch. It's program being overtaken by some sort of virus.
"You aren't a meant to destroy! Your a hero! A protector! You help people! Always have, always will! Never let anything or anyone tell you differently! Go your own way!" A woman's voice says in a concerned tone. It was distant, and sounded desperate. But the word were... genuine and reassuring.
Opening his eyes a man sits up. The world around him, it was dark and rundown, like he was in a condemned building. He looked around to find the corridor empty. It was bare it was only him. Until he realized the only other thing in there with him was the pod like structure he sat up in. He grasp the structure and proceeds to stand.
He looks down to see his body is rather muscular. Investigating every part he could see currently, he found a few distinct marks. A tattoo on his left arm. Two scars: one on his throat, and the other on going diagonally across his entire torso. The tattoo was in roman numerals labeled 'XVI'. His skin was peach like in color. He currently had no clothing.
So there he stood, contemplating his current situation, he was bare, in a place he did not know, being asleep for who knows how long, when the greatest question dawned on him. "Who am I?" A question many have asked. But has it ever been so literal.
Concentrating hard he tries to remember, but he only draws a blank. "How disturbing. I have no memory of my past. The closest inference I can make has to do with the distant voice of a woman I heard moments before gaining consciousness."
The words replay in his head. A hero, a protector. Helping people. "Who was the woman that told me that? How does she know me?" So many questions were in his head.
"I need to learn of my where abouts." He says out loud scanning the room to look for an exit.
The room was dark and made it very difficult to see far.
Activating Night Vision.
The world around him suddenly took on a green hue. The details of the room became clear as he peered across the corridor. Locating an exit he walks towards it coming to a large shuttle door. He bends down and grips the handle, with no effort the door rises. Despite opening easily, the door sounds as if it was being forced open.
Once pass the threshold the man notices how the door seemed to be stuck in the up position. Upon closer inspection, the door is scrunched up in the middle. It mangled state mean it has no way of returning back to it's normal state.
The man looks down at his hand straight faced. Deciding that more analysis would be done later. For now he needs to find civilization. His scan of the area concludes he was currently in the woods.
"An abandoned building in the middle of the woods, holding me inside some sort of capsule. Due to the lack of up keep on the corridor, one would assume it has remained untouched for an extended period of time. The condition of the building and the amount of overgrowth would suggest it has remained this way for approximately 15 years." He says in a robotic fashion. Looking at the building one more time for any possible clues as to who could have owned it.
*Sniff Sniff*
His analysis was interrupted by an unexpected passerby. Turning his head, he comes into eye contact with a bear. The two stare at each other silently. Trying to make out each other's intentions.
The man was unconcerned by the fact a bear was in arms reach of him. As if fear was non existent, or any emotion at all. "Ursus arctos lasiotus: Ussuri Brown Bear or Ezo Brown Bear. Commonly found in in Asian countries. Most common location for this species: Island of Hokkaido." He recites as if reading from off a script.
"So I am currently in Japan. Another query I seek the answer to." He says with slight annoyance in his voice. "No matter, I need to begin a journey to a major city. The largest in Hokkaido Prefecture will be Sapporo." As he says this he turns away from the bear and begins to walk away.
*bump*
"Hmm?" He turns around to see the bear looking directly at him as if it was waiting for something. The man dismisses the bump and begins to walk again.
*Bump*
Once again he is bumped but this time with enough force to stumble slightly. He turns back around to see the bear seated looking at him once again. "Return to your previous location, I will not be a threat to the comforts of your territory." He points past the bear and tells it in a reassuring tone.
Once more he turns around and begins to walk away again. Able to get 10 yards of uninterrupted walking in before...
*BUMP*
"OOF!" This time the man was practically tackled and knocked to the ground. He quickly regrouped and turned over to find the bear standing over him staring once again.
"Why do you persist?" He ask calmly to the animal.
The animal in question responded by licking his face. It begins panting happily looking down at the human.
The man laid there with a frown his eyes covered in saliva. This bear has only stopped any progress from being made. With his previous display of strength, it isn't out of the realm of possibility to simply throw the bear. His problem would be solved. Even if he chose to allow the bear to follow him, it's mere presence would cause chaos. He would be helping all parties from future issues.
Despite the sound logic, "I take it you would like to accompany me on this journey." He states rather than ask.
He was then licked once again by the large animal. It then gets off of the man and waits for what he will do next.
The man sits up and wipes the saliva off his face. He proceeds to stand and look at the bear. "This is an undermining of all logic, once I reach civilization you cannot follow me anymore." He tells the bear as it just continues to look at him.
"I have been awake for no more than 15 minutes and I am expecting a bear care about logic." He says to himself shaking his head.
He looks up at the night sky, the moon and stars illuminating what could be seen through the foliage. The man was enamored by it, it was alluring. Enough to make him want to reach out and touch it. So much so he felt as if he was getting closer... "!!!!!" Because he was.
The man looked down and saw his feet were not touching the ground. He realized that he was floating in thin air. His mind tried very hard to comprehend how he was doing such a feat. No explanation came.
He saw that his ascension continued steadily becoming faster. "I must learn to halt my ascent." And as he spoke it, he stopped. "Hmmm, as simple as a thought." He says to himself in regards to his ability.
Wordlessly he thought about descending, and he began to lose altitude. It continues until he reaches the ground.
Once back on the ground, the man ponders. "With the ability of flight, hours potentially become minutes. Being bound to a single prefecture becomes a pass to all of Japan." He says rubbing his chin.
"He says. He then looks back at the bear. "...The probability of your long term survival in a metropolitan area is low, it is foolish for me to bring you." He tells the bear in a serious tone.
He gets behind the bear giving it a hug. He does his best to bring both hands together but was just out of reach. Wordlessly he begins to rise again. With little effort the bear floated upward with him.
The two rise higher and higher until they reach above the tree line. Looking to his left and to his right he sees two different light sources. One was small and rather weak. While one was large and bright. For some odd reason there was some sort of pull coming from it. He didn't understand it, his destination was Hokkaido, but he felt like he needs to go to where the pull was coming from.
"This sensation... it is not a part of my current objective. I must make my way to Hokkaido." He reaffirms himself before flying off to the direction of the smaller city.
But he stops a momentary headache causes him to shut his eyes, "Go your own way!" The woman's voice repeats the line he heard before his awakening.
"I want to go to Hokkaido... but, I want to follow this sensation even more." He says conflicted. But the words that he heard only resonated in his head. "I will go my own way." With conviction in his voice, he flys in the direction of the pull.
With bear in tow he travels into the unknown, ready to discover himself.
Shinto Teito: MBI Tower
A man in an all white suit, white cape, and with white hair, stands at the edge of the roof overlooking the city below him. A grin creeps up onto his, before it grows into a full blown smile.
A quiet chuckle escapes his lips, before bursting out into a cackle, "BAH HAH HAH HAHAHA! Soon, so very soon the age of the Gods will be upon us! The game shall begin in earnest, and I, the Master of it all, shall be one step closer to my goals." He monologue to himself in grandiose fashion.
He basks in his own glory in the cool night air before his watch begins to beep. " Ah, time for a rest once again. Five more minutes admiring my own genius won't hurt anyone."
As he says that, he spots a naked man soaring through the air, carrying what looks to be a bear. Before he knew it he had flown out of his sight.
Minaka Hiroto was a man that prided himself on having the answer to everything, but what he has witnessed had left him completely speechless. The sight was so random and so unreal, his only thought was, "That is why 8 hours of sleep is important." He quickly exits the roof top and makes his way towards bed.
Shinto Teito: West Side
A lone biker rides down a city street. The man was lean yet muscular, his black hair flowed in the wind. He wore a black leather jacket, with no shirt underneath, and dark pants. Goggles were protecting his eyes from any possible incoming debris and black gloves gripped the handle bars. A skull belt buckle completed his look. Overall he looked like a gruff and wild individual.
Despite his look this biker was in a particularly good mood. How good?
"~Why do you build me? (Build me up)~ Buttercup baby just to let me down?~ And mess me around.~ And then worst of all (worst of all), you never call baby when you say you will.~ But I love you still!~ I need you! (I need you!)~ More than anyone darlin!~ You know that I have from the start.~ So build me up (Build me up), buttercup don't break my heart.~" (1)
He sang a catchy tune as he rode along. His day has been great, he got paid from his job. He had an awesome meal from his favorite restaurant. Most importantly, he hasn't had to kick anybody's ass all day. Nothing could throw him off his game!
Until a shadow blocked out the moonlight for a moment. "Hm?" He looks up for a moment out of curiosity.
"HOLY SHIT!!!" He screamed out in utter shock. His eyes had broken through his goggles and bugged out. His tongue had also stuck out to comical levels.
What had caused to be in such a state of shock was a very large naked man flying with a bear in his arms.
He brought his motorcycle to an abrupt halt. Skidding to a stop the biker looks at the two until they're too far away to see. His mouth agape in disbelief. Never had he witnessed anything like this. The sight was jarring. Why was he put in this place at this time to encounter such a random phenomenon? "WHAT THE FUUUUUCK??!!" Was the only answer he could come up with. This moment did however change him for the better.
"I'll never THINK about doing drugs again!" He shouts before gunning his bike towards home. The drugs in question, were cigarettes that he was offered. He thought the flying man and bear was a hallucination... the Sanada Nishi isn't a bad guy, just an idiot at times.
Shinto Teito: South Side
On a mansion balcony a boy leans against the rail, tired of sitting from a long study session.
The boy was dressed in formal attire; all white with gold accents. It was simple but very attention grabbing. Brown hair framed his face, a piece of it dropping between his hazel eyes.
The boy let out a deep sigh of frustration, "Graduate from college at the age of 15. What gift do my parents give me? ANOTHER THREE YEARS OF EDUCATION!" The boy yells into the night sky aggravated by his circumstances.
"Something, I don't care what it is, I just need something exciting to happen." He pleads loudly hoping for someone or something to help him escape his mundane lifestyle.
That is when soaring across the sky, he sees a naked man holding a bear. His eyes widen as he silently watches him fly out of his sight.
"... T-Thank you? It's a start I suppose?" He speaks looking up at the sky, utterly confused by the occurrence.
With the moment passed Hayato Mikogami went back to his room to reluctantly continue his studies.
Shinto Teito: East Side, Hiyamakai Enterprises
A man looks out the window of his top floor office window. A look of superiority plasters his face as he stares at the people below like they were ants.
"Tch." He scoffs at the people going about their mundane simple lives. It irked him to no end to see how so many around him lived such worry free lives. His was burdened by the absurdity of his life. His family, his company, the constant day to day of dealing with this nonsense.
"SIGH..." He sighs tiredly. In reality, he envied the people below, how they went about life content with their mid to low class lifestyles.
"HMPH!" To him though, not everyone could handle the weight that he bares. He was born into high standard, raised in high standard, and only accepted high standard. As the boss of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world, mediocrity is unacceptable.
So why was he stuck in second place, behind Hiroto Minaka and M.B.I.?! One day he was the head of the pack, then out of the blue, M.B.I. shows up, knock him out of the top spot. And then taunts him! The carrot dangled just right out of his reach! It pissed him off.
"God damn you Minaka!" He shouts out as he slams his fist on his desk. "First you become the top company, then just spite me, you change the name of the city!" His anger grew as he ranted. "Someway, I will make you pay for thinking you could get the better of me!" He says with conviction in his voice. He goes back to the window looking up at the sky. Plotting the downfall of his hated rival.
Until a naked man flying with a bear in his arms comes past his window.
The business man blinks twice before going back to his desk and pressing a button. "Kakizaki, I'm going to sleep until morning, handle anything matter until then." He says before walking towards a side bedroom that connected to his office.
Higa Izumi would continue his plan, but only after resting. The hallucination was the only sign he needed to show he's been depriving himself too much.
With the man and the bear.
"This endeavor has so far proven ineffectual." The man says disappointed.
He has flown over most of the city and has not felt the sensation sense entering the city limits.
*mutters*
The man could hear noises coming from the bear he was carrying. While not knowing what the meaning of it's mumbles, it could infer that it may be uncomfortable due to the amount of time it's been carried.
"A reassessment would be beneficial." He says out loud needing to rethink what to do. He scans the area and finds a hospital rooftop.
He lands on the building sitting the bear down in the process.
Relieved by its weight no longer dangling, the bear lays out, letting out satisfied growls through out.
The display caused the man to crack a small grin. It made him feel at ease seeing the creature relaxed and free from the constraint.
*A breeze passes by.*
Speaking of free. The man looks down and remembers that he had no clothes on. This would embarrass just about anybody, but for him it barely registered.
Fear and embarrassment, two emotions that are apart of any and every person. Yet he felt nothing. It bothered him that he felt nothing. Not only emotionally, but physically too. Despite feeling the breeze, it wasn't chilly, it wasn't even cool. It just felt like wind passing. He didn't understand why he couldn't feel anything, but he wanted to get to the bottom of it.
First thing first: clothing.
Given they were in top of a hospital, some sort of covering would be available.
The man looks over to the bear, to his surprise, it was now asleep. Seeing as how he did not need to concern himself with his tag along, he made his way to the door.
Once inside, he realizes that the hospital is well lit. "I will need to attain a gown as quickly as possible." He whispered to himself quietly.
Despite his size and build, he moved down the corridor swiftly moving in and out of rooms. Those that were empty he looked for any article of clothing. Those with people in it, he would shut the lights of and exit before the resident could realize what was happening.
His search was coming up to dead ends. He ended up making to a front desk area where a nurse was sitting. Behind her was a sign on the wall. Look to be a list of locations in the hospital on various floors.
He needs to get a closer look at it. But if he comes from behind the wall he'll be seen.
Looking at his surroundings he finds a tray with an empty plate on it. Picking up the plate he peeks over to see where the nurse was looking. Fortunately it was down at her phone.
Extending his arm back, he aims as far in the opposite direction as possible. With all his strength he launches the plate.
*Toss!* WHOOSH!*SMASH!!!*
The plate exploded into many little pieces making a very loud noise on impact. This startled the nurse so much she nearly dropped her phone. In an instant she stands and rushes to the source of the sound.
With her away from the desk, he swiftly makes his move. Once behind the desk he quickly reads the board. Scanning over the locations, he finally finds where he needs to go. Just in time as the nurse was coming back.
He quickly exits down a different corridor. Making his way to the location of the clothing. A few turns later and he makes it to the supply room.
Once inside he closes and locks the door behind him to prevent any interruption. He moves with urgency through the mid sized room and spots a stack of scrubs. Looking through the stack, a small frown comes on to his face. The largest set he found was an XL, and it already looked small.
Not wanting to delay any longer, he puts on the scrubs, and as he suspected, they're too small. The top stopped at his midsection, showing off some of his abs. The pants were tight and hugged his entire lower half. Half of his calf muscles could be seen as the pants did not go too his ankles. They were uncomfortable and did not cover like he had hoped. But it was better than being naked.
Turning around he realized there was a mirror on the door. For the first time he stops and gets a good look at himself. His eyes were an icy blue. Contrasting to them was a firey head of red hair. It seemed to have no problem sticking up and staying in place. On both ears were small gold hoop earrings. Once he was done looking he exits the room and makes his way back towards the roof.
The walk back went without a hitch as the nurse had not returned to her post yet. He quickly walked up the stairs and made his way through the door.
Upon re-entering the rooftop he is met with a slightly startling sight. A woman in a wheelchair was petting the bear he had left to sleep. What was even more odd, was that the bear was awake, and seemingly enjoyed the affection.
It was confusing for the man, as no normal person would be so calm in the face of a wild animal. Granted his own lack of reaction in his initial meeting of the creature wasn't common behavior either.
He walks up to the two coming to her side in order to get a look of her face. It was calm, an innocent smile adorned her lips as she continued to caress the bear's fur. She looked so content in it's presence.
"Your do not fear her?" The man ask curiously.
The question gets the young lady's attention and she looks towards the sound. She looks up at the towering man, her radiant smile seemingly glowing. "Hello~. Should I fear her? She's been really sweet since I've gotten up here." She says happily.
This confused the man even more, this woman had seen the bear and simply decided she would try to be friendly with it. "That is odd. You are an odd one." He says almost robotically.
The young woman moves a strand of light brown hair from out of her eyes and giggles. "Maybe, but I was more than happy to have the company~." She says sweetly, her smile growing at her statement.
Still perplexed he had the strong desire to understand more about this strange woman. "Most that require companionship would not readily accept it from a mammal so large." He says matter of factly.
She stops petting the bear, "No... but I'm just happy something would want to sit with me for once." She says in a rather sad tone.
The man felt that going any further would not be wise. Loneliness seemed to be a struggle to some degree judging from her change in demeanor. And for him, other than the bear, he was also alone, and lacking any sort of knowledge about himself.
So in a way he related to her, "May I also provide you with company?" He ask politely.
The question seemed to brighten the girls mood. "Of course!" she says excited by having a bear and a man sit with her for once.
Her change in demeanor was enough to make the man crack a smile. Like seeing her happy had given him a sense of satisfaction.
"So why are you in?" She ask suddenly.
"Hm?" The man stands confused by the question.
"The hospital. Why are you here? Also, when exactly did you get here? I'm sure I would have seen someone as noticeable as you." She states smoothly.
He nods in understanding of what she was being asked. "The reason you haven't seen me before is because I am not a nurse of this hospital." He says bluntly.
It was the girls turn to be confused, a random guy in scrubs that doesn't even work here. That was slightly concerning. "So where did you come from?" She ask wondering what he would say.
"Truthfully, I do not know." He says sheepishly.
The girl was perplexed by his answer, "Well... who are you?" She asked hoping to hear a better answer than what he just gave.
"I don't that either." He says, his voice sounding a little defeated.
The girl was concerned now. The man was ignorant to anything regarding himself. "Well... how did you get here?" She asked.
The man knew how to answer that, but it would be a little more complicated. "If you are willing, I can tell you how. It may take a little time though." He says to her.
The girl nods her head enthusiastically, getting a comfy as possible in the wheelchair.
The man proceeds to tell his story, leaving nothing out. His mention of the voices, his exit from the building, his night vision, meeting his bear companion, his flight to Tokyo, and ultimately his arrival to the roof top. "We are now up to the present." He states plainly.
*sniffles*
He hears the sound of sniffling, he looks to the girl whose head was down. Her shoulders jerked up and down. "Are you alright miss?" He ask with slight concern in his voice.
The girl looks up with large comical tears in her eyes. She tried to hold back her crying but was failing miserably. "*hic* "Th-that's so sad!" She says before just letting out her cries.
The man was utterly confused by her reaction, and wasn't sure how to handle the situation. It felt off seeing the girl cry, especially since he did not believe he said anything to warrant it. "I apologize." Feeling slightly bad for doing bringing out such an emotion.
The girl tries to settle down in hopes of speaking with a level of coherence. "It's not your fault. I just know what it's like. To not know anything about yourself. It just makes you feel even more alone. I hate to see anyone go through the same thing as me." She says before bursting into tears once more.
A look of shock came on to the man's face, as if an epiphany had just occurred. "I am alone." He states in a hushed tone. There was a since of dread that creeped up on him with that statement. Looking at the girl though, a different feeling came. He couldn't quite explain it,but for this girl, he had only just met, to cry for his sake was touching.
He reached his hand out placed it on top of her head.
This got the girls attention, stopping her crying she looks to him.
"It is very kind of you to shed tears for another." He says in a warm voice.
From the girl's view, she had seen a brief flash of a genuine smile. Gone was the stoic face he had the entire time she had seen him. What was there now was a handsome profile. So handsome it made her blush a little.
Looking out at the horizon he sees a slight change in coloring on the sky. "It will be dawn soon I require many necessities while I remain in this city. He says going over to the bear hoisting onto his shoulder.
"Wait!" The girl shouts out getting his attention back. "I want to see you again." She says excitedly.
Cracking a small smile he tells her, "I would also like to see you again. Preferably I can visit you during the proper hours." He says in a serious tone.
She giggles at his comment. "Sure! I hope you come again soon, I would like to talk more!" She says happily.
He nods at her before rising into the sky. He stops remembering something important, "I have not learned your name."
"Hidaka Chiho! What do I call you?" She ask happily.
Looking back at his arm with the Roman numerals he answers, "Juu Roku, that will be my name. You may simply call me Roku." He says satisfied by his new name. He waves good bye to Chiho and she waves back.
"Roku-chan!" She says the name blushing as she does.
End.
And done. That's the prologue folks. This is way longer than the first one I had done.
But yeah new story. Let me know what y'all think, leave a review. If you like it, follow and fav. I have another story also for those that haven't read it. "Tales of the Fire King" Check it out I would greatly appreciate it. Other than that I'll see y'all next chapter.
