A/N: I was going to publish this separately, but for some reason I can't publish new stories :(
Anyway, this poem is in the voice of the War Doctor, immediately after regenerating on Karn. It may seem vaguely familiar to some: apologies to W.B. Yeats.

I will arise and go now, and go to Gallifrey,
And a strong weapon forge there, with space- and time-lore made;
Eight lives will I betray there, no more will I happy be,
And live alone till the war's unmade.

And I shall see no peace there, for peace shall no-one know,
Warring from the kindling of starlight, to where an Ood last sings;
There midnight's bright with ship-fire, and noon a livid glow,
And evening full of warship wings.

I will arise and go now, for always night and day
I hear a Dalek screaming: the wailing of the war;
I stood aside from fighting, too long they had their way,
I'll let it take it's toll no more.
