Time for Love

Chapter 2:
BPOV:
I sighed looking at the books spread all around my work table. This was usually the case when we were buying out a new venture. Usually I was on top of my work, but today I was feeling tired, maybe I was coming down with some kind of bug. Taking a deep breath and squaring my shoulders, I was determined to get over with this soon so this could be finalised tomorrow. As it is I was almost done.
After what seemed like hours which was really only an hour, I smiled having accomplished the paperwork for my new acquisition, an Italian restaurant which was too good to be shut. Sometimes, I wonder how people blindly ignore the financial side of their business and run into such problems. Le bella Italia is one of the finest restaurants around, but due to lack of proper financial guidance had started running into debts over a year back, and even with its popularity, it was unable to pull back. Hence, when my source informed me about the owner's desire to sell out, I jumped the opportunity. This will not only expand the entry of Swan Corp into the hospitality business but also, this was my favourite restaurant and I would be sad to let it go. Yes, I make decisions based on my emotions but I can't help being sensitive, for which I am often rebuked by my best friend Rosalie. However I see it as my strong attribute and which is why I have been able to reach to the level I am at today.
My father Charlie Swan had started this small business of helping people by funding their projects from the inheritance he had received after my grandparents. The business was doing okay, but still after years was stagnant. That is why when I had returned from Harvard, Dad had suggested selling it off to help me set up a new business. But I had refused. I didn't want my father's years of efforts to be wasted. So instead, dad made me the managing director of Swan Corp and I had been able to turn it to a new leaf. Today we were on the top 10 business in New York and had diversified across the state with several acquisitions and partnerships.
The ringtone of my phone pulled me away from my thoughts. Glancing at the name, I smiled. "Hey Rose, Whats up?"
"Bella don't you whats up me! We were suppose to meet an hour back and if I'm not wrong you are still at office!," she spited angrily! Oh no! I had completed forgot about the dinner. "I'm so sorry Rose, it just slipped my mind. I was so busy in finalising everything about Le bella Italia that it slipped my mind. Rose I am really sorry!"
"Oh Bella! What am I to do with you! This is 3rd time in a row that you have forgotten about our plans because of work! Why do you have to be such a workaholic! I know you need to be on top of everything, but you need to live a little! Please don't get so busy, that you don't have time for your friends!"
"Rose," I sighed, feeling guilty for not being a good friend again. "I am extremely sorry. You know how much I love you. I promise I'll do better. How about we meet up for dinner tomorrow at Le Bella Italia to celebrate and see if everything is in order!"
"I guess will do, not that I have completely forgiven you or ignored the fact that you mixing business time and friends time. But be ready at 7, I'll pick u up so u don't forget our dinner plans. Bye!"
"Bye rose." Keeping the phone down, I quickly packed my things up, leaving for the day! Tomorrow was going to be a long day with all the finalization plus dinner with Rose!
