The Grim Reaper's Vengence Chapter 6: Anthem of Angels, an inuyasha fanfic

The song is dedicated to My Aunt Tiff that was murdered on May 25th. This is the song that is helping me grieve.

It was her birthday. It was the last day of her being human and the beginning of a new life for her and her son. Sighing to herself, she sat in her room looking out the window. Next time she saw this place, she would be collecting the souls of the dead. Vaguely she wondered if she could move the entire western estate into the Underworld. Shrugging, she opened her gift she had received from Sesshomaru. It was an indigo pendent with an S in scripted on top of it. Opening it, there was a picture of Sesshomaru in his normal face and Rin smiling. To the side of it, there were two messages.

'To the best mommy in world. Happy birthday momma!' Rin.

'Even in darkness, we will be close. Just close your eyes, and think of me the most' Sesshomaru.

Touching her lips, she let a small smile grace her features. That was so sweet! She had to remember to thank him. Putting it around her neck, she smiled at how it matched her eyes. Her hand drifted to her stomach in a slow motion. Soft pats were dealt to her flat tummy.

"Things will be different now, Ship. I promise." She whispered.

White walls surround us

Kagome stood under the full moon in her room. Sesshomaru stood behind her as they both waited for the black crack in the floor to open. Kagome looked up at Sesshomaru with hidden thoughts. There was something she wanted to tell him but she didnt know how he would take it. She wasnt really good at telling her feelings to people and Sesshomaru was totally different from most people. With a sigh, she turned and looked at him with solem eyes.

"Sesshomaru, thank you for allowing us into your beautiful home. Thank you for helping me get over the whole Kouga thing. You really are the best. And I hate to do this to you but could I maybe possibly bring the Western Estate with me?" She asked with hopeful eyes.

"Does he not have a castle which you will live in?" Sesshomaru asked, questioning her motives.

"Yes. But I like your home. I know this place. It's sorta like home." She smiled.

He raised a brow. "I have no qaurrels with you bringing the estate with us."

She just smiled.

Days go on forever

The ground cracked open and slowly he appreared. A big smile was on his pale face. Kagome smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around her in a hug. Sesshomaru stood there watching silently. As the two parted, Grimm looked at the human woman with ssoft eyes.

"Kagome, the things that have happened to you mean nothing now. Yes they will probably be on your mind but now, it doesnt matter You are a woman with power and will live forever. Immortality is now yours. The scathe will only react to your touch. You are in control over the entire Underworld. I leave it in your capable hands. Take care of it for me." He said handing her the scathe.

Kagome took it in her hands slowly before a jolt of pain shoot through her arm. It hurt so bad that she fell to the floor and laid there for a moment. Her hair grew out longer to where it pooled about her form in black sea. Her tan skin turned pale. Black markings lined her face and burned through her clothes. Tiger stripes formed on her body in the pattern. The stripes lined her eyes and and cheeks nicely. Her eyes turned black with hints of red shimmers in them. Skeleton hands held her breast and waist tightly. Horns appeapred out her head as she panted slightly.

Slowly, Kagome sat up with the scathe in her hand. She leaned on it as she caught her breath.

"And with this kiss, all power belongs to you." He said kissing her forehead before backing away. "I leave in your hands." And then he disappeared.

Kagome looked at Sesshomaru for a moment. He stared at her pale flesh. Slowly, he walked toward her and touched her shoulder. "Are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine but something is calling me. Hold on." She said tapping the scathe.

She disappeared before reappearing with a few glowing orbs.

Sesshomaru's eyes widened.

"The souls of the dead. They were wandering so I brought them back." She said softly. The scathe wiggled and jiggled before ripping the air open. It nudged at her hand and she let them go. Flying into the black swirls, she watched them disappear into the swirls slowly.

"Hn." Sesshomaru hummed.

Cold light above us
Hope fills the heart
And fades away
Skin white as winter
As the sky returns to grey

There was a knock on the door and Rin's head popped in.

"Daddy where's Kagome? I want to tell her happy birthday." Rin asked looking at her father.

"Hi Rin." Kagome waved.

"Ah, you are pretty. Who are you?" Rin asked walking toward her with curious eyes.

Kagome giggled. "Rin, it's me. I'm Kagome."

Rin's face grew wide. "Kagome what happened to you. You look like a vampire." She giggled.

"Yes, well I have a very important job." Kagome smiled.

"What? Like a sercret agent?" She asked.

"Well. I guess you could say that." Kagome smiled.

"Cool! Did you like Rin's gift for you?" She asked curiously with hope.

"Yes. I loved it. In fact, I'll put it on again right now." Kagome said grabbing the necklace and putting it on herself. "How do I look?" She asked.

"Beautiful. What do you think daddy?" He asked.

"It is acceptable."

Days go on forever

(A week Later)

Kagome sat in class with alot of eyes on her. She sighed at the annoying stares. Smiling softly, she showed them her fangs. Everyone turned away immediately. She found that funny. Inuyasha and Sesshomaru had fangs. And for all the times Inuyasha opened his big mouth, they should have seen his fangs. Now Sesshomaru, who barely spoke to anyone except her, they would have never known. As the bell rang, she packed up and turned to go out the class, when a very familiar face appeared. Her heart began to beat quickly. Where was Sesshomaru? Turning to go the other way, she grabbed on the shoulder and pulled into an abonded class room.

Kagome stood there face to face with Kouga.

"So Kagome, you thought you could get away with my child?" He asked darkly.

"It is my child and I have no time for the likes of you." She growled lowly.

"Silly little girl. You are mine. You can't leave me no matter what. After all I am your only friend." He growled back.

"Wrong." Sesshomaru spoke up.

"This has nothing to do with you dog." Kouga hissed.

"Indeed it does wolfling. You are forbidden to touch her." Sesshomaru said softly but the warning was clear.

"What are you going to do? That child in her stomach is mine." Kouga barked.

"But it wants nothing to do with you. Can you not feel it youki pushing against yours? You are too close to its mother." Sesshomaru said before walking up to Kagome and pulling her behind him.

"She will be mine dog." He growled before leaving the room.

Kagome let go the breath she didnt know she was holding. Kouga brought back horrible memories. With a sigh, she pulled out her scathe. She had been ignoring the call of many souls. She nodded to Sesshomaru, who had turned around with a knowing look. Cutting a rip in the air, she stepped through and waved as she went and collected all the souls that were wondering.

Sesshomaru sighed before turning and walking out the room and to his car. Once there, he roared out the parking lot to his estate to wait on her return. She got tired from going back and forth threw dimmensions. It was hardwork apprently.

As he walked into the house, Rin attached herslef to his leg.

"Hi daddy! Rin learned her math equations." She said excitedly.

Sesshomaru nodded and patted her head.

"Is Kagome-momma doing her job again daddy?" Rin asked.

Sesshomaru nodded once more before picking her up and carrying her into the kitchen.

"Are you going to cook tonight daddy?" Rin asked.

"What would you like?" He asked with a small smile.

"Rin wants applesauce." She cheered.

"Then applesauce it is." He nodded.

Rim cheered before running to her room. Sesshomaru shook his head as grabbed some apples. Rin came charging in with her crayons and coloring book. She sat the table quickly and began to color. Sesshomaru watched with curiousity as he peeled the apples.

"What are you making Rin?" He asked softly.

"A card for Kagome-momma! She said she is going to be a King even though Rin told her girls were Queens." Rin smiled.

Sesshomaru raised a brow. King? Did she not want to be married?
