Chapter 7

Kagome sat on her thrown without so much as a smile. All these creatures were disturbing her. Their constant chatter about the mortals was beginning to get on her nerves. It seemed as though they were jealous but not. There was a condescending tone about how human had such short lives but at least they could die. Kagome snorted. She could arrange for them to die if they so pleased. A smirk curled her red lips at her own thoughts.

"Sir," One of her servants Sesshomaru had hired greeted her bowing. He was a simple shadow of a man with bright white eyes.

"Rise." She stated standing.

"There is a woman that causing trouble outside the castle. She claims to be the rightful ruler of the Underworld sir." He explained.

Kagome stood. "Summon Sesshomaru-sama and Rin. Have him come to me when he is here. And get rid of these beings. They are beginning to give me a headache." She ordered.

"Yes, Sir." He nodded before going to do his duty.

Trust me there's no need to fear.
Everyone's here, waiting for you
To finally be one of us. Come down
You may be full of fear, But you'll be
Safe here. When you finally trust me,
Finally believe in me

Kagome walked outside the castle to see the woman in question. She was flaring her magic around her in a green color. The woman was a tall skeleton with white hair. Her eye sockets were filled with bugs. A long black overcoat covered her other bones as she let the magic rush around the guards trying to contain her. Her stick swung around in defiance.

"What is it that you want Skeleton?" Kagome asked.

"Oh the Grim Reaper herself, how nice of you to appear." She frowned deeply.

"Yes, what is that you want?" Kagome repeated.

"You know the thrown is rightfully mine and you need to hand it over." The skeleton hissed.

"But I will not. Grimm left it to me and me alone. You were not qualified to run the Underworld. And if you continue to cause a scene here at My castle, keep threatening My guards that work for Me, I may just have to kill you. You are dismissed." Kagome stated before turning around and heading back to her castle.

"The Underworld will belong to Madam Keleton girl. I'm thousands of years old compared. I deserve to be the ruler." She hissed her powers began to rise.

Kagome slammed her scathe on the ground and let her and its power shoot around. It didn't stop once it got to the skeleton. It advanced on throughout the land to every corner and person. The red and black power overshadowed her green with simplicity. Her right arm became her bones as the power had melted her skin but strangely it didn't hurt. Kagome's guards moved to stand behind her as she approached one step at a time. The red and black energy swirled around in a flurry of frustration.

I will let you down
I'll let you down, I'll
When you finally trust me
Finally believe in me

"You are getting on my nerves. I said it belongs to me. Everything here belongs to me. Take your sorry skeleton pieces away before I make sure you make a nice mantel in my castle." Kagome spoke in a regular tone but her eyes promised a fate worse than death considering she was death. She turned and walked back into her castle leaving everyone there to stare at their soft spoken leader. As she went, her power went back to her scathe.

Kagome walked into her throne room to see Rin sitting in her chair trying to look like a queen. She smiled as Rin tried to keep her chin up. Disappearing quickly, she reappeared beside the chair with a soft smile. "What are you doing Rin?" Kagome asked.

Rin jumped and looked at her with surprise. "Kagome-momma, when did you get there?" Rin asked with a sheepish smile.

"I've been here." She smiled back.

"Rin was just trying to look like you when you sit on the throne." Rin stated moving her left foot behind with a shy look.

"I see that. Do you want me to show you how?" Kagome asked smiling at how endearing Rin was.

"YES! Please?" Rin nodded.

"Okay Rin. Sit in my chair. Good now hold your chin up but keep your eyes down. Keep your back straight. Fold your arms over the other on your lap. Cross your legs at the ankle. There you go. Now you look like a Queen." Kagome smiled.

"Indeed she does." A mysterious voice spoke into the room.

Trust me,
I'll be there when you need me
You'll be safe here
When you finally trust me
Finally believe in me

Kagome looked over to see a tall Hellion walking toward the little light in the room. He had long unruly orange hair with tar like skin his eyes were red and yellow. Black rags covered his body and face as he stood there before Kagome. "What is your business here?"

"I just wanted to see if the Grim Reaper was really as beautiful as they say. And they were not lying." He stated in a deep voice.

Kagome rolled her eyes. "Flattery will get you nowhere."

He smiled. "Oh but it has. I have just laid eyes on you. Smile more. You look like you have a great smile."

Rin tugged on Kagome's arm. "Kagome-momma," She whispered.

Kagome looked down at Rin with one eye. She was afraid of the hellion and it was starting to fill the air. Using her free hand, she ran her fingers through her long hair to calm her down. It worked after a second or two.

I will let you down
I'll let you down, I'll
When you finally trust me
Finally believe in me
I will let you down
I'll let you down, I'll
When you finally trust me
Finally believe in me

"Is this your child?" he asked.

"She is."

"Ah, where is her father?"

"That is little of your concern." Sesshomaru answered as he appeared from the dark corners.

"Daddy!" Rin yelled as she got up and ran to her father.

Sesshomaru picked her up mid stride and kept on walking to Kagome's now sitting form. He stood beside her chair and stared at the being that kept eyeing Kagome. His eyes took notice of the jealousy and malice toward him coming from the male. Sesshomaru snorted. As if this weakling could really do damage to him. Even so, he wasn't cocky. Sesshomaru was new to the Underworld. He wouldn't underestimate the being.

"I see." The hellion stated looking at Sesshomaru. Turning his attention back to the Reaper, he smiled. "I will be going now. You are very beautiful and I wish to see you again." He smiled before turning and leaving.

Kagome hummed before standing.

Sesshomaru took notice of her skeleton arm. He grabbed her with his free hand on her shoulder. "Are you alright?" He asked.

Kagome nodded. "The scathe's power did it. It doesn't hurt and I think I'm beginning to feel it grow back."

Sesshomaru nodded as she walked past him to the dining hall. Like most of the castle it was dark but lit with candles. It wasn't dirty like most would think but clean. It sparkled. She made sure it did. As the three sat down at the table, Kagome let her eyes look to the beautiful corner waterfall had candles floating on the pond with little beings that fed off her power. They were harmless to anyone but that's how they ate. Beautiful blues, pinks, greens, purples, reds, yellows, and many other colors danced around the pound. Rin was highly entertained by them. Kagome called one over and held it in her hand.

"Look Rin."

Rin looked at the tiny being that danced in Kagome's hand in awe.

"It's so pretty! Rin loves it." She smiled.

Kagome smiled back before letting it float back to its family. She turned her head to Sesshomaru. Smiling at him, she rested her bone hand on the table. "I'm glad you could have dinner with me." She beamed.

"We were coming for a visit today anyway. NAT tells me there has been issue with many beings challenging you for your position." He stated looking at her with questioning eyes.

"Remind me to give him a raise. Yes. I've taken care of most of them but there is one that keeps coming back."

Sesshomaru hummed as the food came out for them to enjoy.

Never want to come down
Never want to come down
Never want to come down

Kagome stood on the roof of her school, close to the end to look over but not too close. She looked like a regular student but she had more confidence. Her stomach was huge and she was due any day now. Smiling at her stomach, she ran her hand it with a soft hum. "You won't be like the person who helped create you. Hopefully you'll take on Sesshomaru's qualities." She smiled

"And who helped create it?" A snide snarl asked.

(Down, let you down)

Kagome rolled her eyes at the irritating voice of Inuyasha. "None of your business." Her smile died quickly.

"And why isn't it any of my business? Aren't you my girlfriend?" He asked with a snarl as he stopped to stand in front of her.

"No. I haven't been your girlfriend since you and Kikyo have been sneaking around." She stated backing up to go around him.

He grabbed her hand. "So you go crying to my brother?!"

I will let you down
I'll let you down, I'll
When you finally trust me
Finally believe in me

"So what if I did? He actually treats me like a person and was there when everything was falling apart. He defended in front of everyone, something you would never do. You kept me a secret but he talks to me in public. Your brother is so much more of a man than you." She growled as she snatched her hand away.

Inuyasha momentarily stunned pushed her backwards. How dare she say his prick of brother was a more a man than he was. He was all man and Kikyo knew it too. Stupid wench. Being off balanced already, Kagome fell backwards off the school. Inuyasha watched wide eyed as she tittered over. She looked up at the sky as she closed her eyes and waited for impact.

I will let you down

When you finally trust me
