A/N: Hey guys. 'sup. It's been a loong time. I decided that I'm going to keep the original story, just for those who love them. This is another version of the story about Seleyda Farrer, with details and characters I couldn't insert into the original Two Nature. I'm going to keep the title too, since it still fits. Hope you like it.

As a note, this story starts from Magic Slays. I will copy portions from the book to bring you to the story.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own the Kate Daniels series. Ilona Andrews does.

CHAPTER ONE

' "As I was saying, we have ten hours and fifty - nine minutes from the beginning of the next magic wave," Curran said. "That's how long the device will take to charge. Either it's in position already or they are moving it into position now. If we find it with time to spare, Adam here will disarm it."

A vampire at the far left tensed, gathering its muscles. It was a minute movement, barely noticeable. I squeezed Slayer's hilt, feeling the familiar texture under my fingers.

"If there is no time, whoever finds it may have to disarm it themselves," Curran said. "Now Adam will explain to us how to do this..."

The vampire jumped, claws raised for the kill. It sailed through the air toward Kamen, clearing the table in a single powerful leap. I jumped onto the table. '

And froze. My body stood still, like a bizarre musical chair moment, and I couldn't move a muscle. An invisible hand plucked the vampire and slammed him into the wall. Tiny cracks formed around the struggling vampire as it clawed at the empty air, pounding him deeper into the concrete.

'A dark - headed journeyman jumped to his feet so quickly that his chair toppled backward. A gun flashed in his hand.'

His body froze, like someone pressed the pause button. Curran jumped up from his seat, eyes turning molten gold, ready for combat, his body blocking mine. He was a breadth away from becoming the Beast Lord. Another vampire flashed, then froze again in mid-air. Ghastek strained.

'Show yourself," he demanded.

'Get the vampires under control, and then maybe we can talk about showing ourselves,' a girl retorted. It seemed to be coming from everywhere yet nowhere. Suddenly, I could move again, as if the game had ended. I got off the table. Curran blocked me again, which just pissed me off. The vampire on the wall stopped resisting as the journeyman sagged against the invisible puppeteer's hold. The mysterious girl released the vampire, and it docilely walked over to Ghastek.

'Who's there?' Ragnvald asked.

Two girls appear in the middle of the conference. I jumped back. No, wait. There was no way that they could have gotten past all of them. They weren't girls either. Probably closer to eighteen or nineteen. One was blonde with blue eyes, and the other was a brunette with grey eyes. Blondie had her hands up, like she was holding something.

I swung my sword around once, twice, testing my arm. The blonde girl glanced over and the journeyman collapsed on the floor. Brownie touched her on the shoulder. "Concentrate." She had a British accent. Blondie gave her a look that said that if her hands were free, she would flip the bird. Brownie ignored her. "I apologise for startling everyone. We mean no harm."

One of the witches leaned over and whispered, "Next thing you know she'll say 'We come in peace.' "

Brownie smiled. " Perhaps another time." She turned to face me. Pretty. I saw the stares from the males in the room. Okay, fine, she was beautiful. Her bangs cut a straight line across her forehead, emphasizing on the shape and colour of her grey eyes. Her nose was straight and covered with freckles. She had a pretty smile. Her body was long and slender, deceptively slender.

I didn't like her. My gut told me she had plenty to hide. My inner voice laughed at me and asked me if I could even be the judge with the skeletons in my closet.

"I'm sorry for freezing your mate, Your Majesty," she said. "But she would have killed a vampire and an innocent."

"An innocent?" Ragnvald snorted. "He's probably a Lighthouse Keeper."

"Then the information that he carries will be even more important." Rowena tried to bend down and reach for the unconscious journeyman. Two vampires barred her way, each taking an arm. "My name is Ava Newcastle. This is my sister, Seleyda Farrer. We are here to help."

Jim came over to Curran's side and started whispering rapidly into his ear. He was trying to keep things under wraps, even though the entire room was filled with shapeshifters and their Lyc-V enhanced hearing.

'Ava Cybele Newcastle, 19. She joined us five years ago. She has a 4 year old son, Coram.' I raised an eyebrow. Cybele's a primal nature goddess in the mountains of central and western Anatolia, and the precursor for the Greek goddess Rhea. Some said she was one of the original goddess to walk the earth in her true form.

'Seleyda Kali Farrer, 19. I have a daughter named Valentine. She's two,' Seleyda added. She winked at Jim. 'Thought it might come useful.' She took a deep breath. 'No, I'm not part of Atlanta's Pack. I am here to visit my sister, Ava, or was.'

'We wish to officially lend our resources to the Pack in stopping the Lighthouse Keepers,' Ava said. There was an immediate stir.

'If we do accept your kind offer, what kind of resources can you give us?' Curran asked.

'We can tell you where this machine is.'
