As the taxi pulled into the domestic side of the San Francisco international airport; Gill got out of the back seat with an overnight bag. He slung the bag over his shoulder and with his free hand took out some money and handed it to the driver and said.
"Keep the change!"
Gill then hoofed it into the airport heading straight to the closest terminal counter; he could pay for a ticket to get to Las Vegas. His mind and focuses were on not being there for Sara and what he would do if something god forbid happen to the woman he still loved. He didn't see the man in front of him until the two collide. This sent both men flying and then hitting the cold tile floor of the airport with a thud. The man that Gill had to collide with was the first to get up and like most people who got bounce off or on a hard surface would do once they stop seeing stars.
"What the hell is the problem?"
Gil shook his head slightly, but he heard what the man he hit had belted out in slight pain.
"I'm sorry my mind else where … I apologize."
The man looked at Grissom; for a moment, the man eyes trailed over the man that hit him reading his body langue and such but stop as he came to his eyes. Those eyes he had when he lost the woman that complete him to the abyss he stared into for most of his adult life as an FBI profiler. So, he couldn't blame the man if his mind was somewhere else if what he was seeing was correct. So, he let go as an accident neither of them seems to hurt, and the man truly did look like he needs to get somewhere, so he said to the man.
"It fine, accidents happen to everyone once in a while."
The two men got to their feet, and as they did Gil introduced himself to the man.
"Thank you for understanding; the name is Gil Grissom, and you are?"
Gill extended his hand; the man took it into his and shook it. But as he did the man gave Gill a look of recognition as he remembered where he heard the name: at conference years, ago when he was still an FBI profiler.
"My name is Jason Gideon…. Gil Grissom, not the Gil Grissom that used to work in the Las Vegas Crime Lab?"
Gil was a slight surprise but gave Jason a nod, "Yes, why do you ask?"
Jason gave Gill a warm smile then said "Well as luck would have it you ran into a man who used to work at the FBI BAU; I remembered reading a few of the papers you wrote…. So, what had you so engrossed that you didn't see me if I may ask?"
Gil took a quick look at his watch before looking back at Gideon and saying;
"Well something has happened to someone I'm very close or used to be very close to, and I have to get back to Las Vegas… I have to find out if I can do something to help…. Well please forgive me, but I got see if I can get a ticket."
With that Gil and Gideon said their goodbyes and they started on their separate ways. Gill went over to the ticket counter as Gideon pulled out his smart phone. As Gideon went to check his message the phone slipped out his hand and bounced off the floor. As he reached down, he caught a scent that reminds him of something. As he looked up for a brief moment, he swore he saw Sarah looking at him. His knees almost buckled seeing that ghost. Not that this was the first time he saw her. In fact, he saw her almost every minute of the day when he let his mind wander. But this time was different she looks as if she wanted him to follow this Gil Grissom he only just met. Gideon mulled over whether or not to follow this even as he watched Gill disappear into the TSA line. He knew he should go and help it would be the right thing to do. So, Gideon went over to the same ticket counter and purchased himself a ticket to Las Vegas.
After buying the ticket, Gideon walked over to the TSA and waited his turn; it took a little bit, but soon he found himself through the TSA and on his way to his gate. As he walked down the corridor towards the gates, he saw a few eateries and other places where you could pick up things you forgot or might peak your interest for an average person. Gideon walked passed these and entered a much larger area. He could see the gate for his flight, but he could also see Grissom getting what he assumes was a cup of coffee from the Starbucks.
Gideon approach Grissom who look up and saw him, for a minute he looks befuddle to why he was seeing Gideon. But he waved him over, and the two stood there looking at one another until Gill broke the silence. "What are you doing here?"
Gideon could understand why, since neither of them knew each other except for few things or papers they read. So, Gideon said to Gil in his most earnest voice.
"Well, I thought that I might be able to help you, if possible."
Gil thought for a moment and said. "Well thank you let take a seat over by the gate, and I'll fill you in what's going on in Las Vegas and why I need to get back."
The two walked over to the gate as they sat down Gill filled Gideon in on the whole story as he knew it and what he been told about the serial Killer hunting the streets of Vegas, and how he now had his estranged wife. The conversation and talk went on for a while; they two bounce ideas and scenarios off one another talking about the information they knew trying to deviant some theories. While they waited, for their row to be called to be bored on the plane.
