Summary; Quinn is the daughter of Tony Stark and Pepper Potts. Her life consists of doing missions, training, being a certified medic, and keeping up her reputation as the famous Iron Man's daughter. Striding down the hall, Quinn pushed open a door and slipped through, the others following close behind. Simmons pushed ahead of her, retaking his place at the head of the procession.
"You're about to see our crown jewel here at Sector Seven," he declared with a smile, as if he were giving tours at a zoo. He continued to speak, giving the story of how the cube was discovered, and everyone was listening intently, with the exception of Quinn. She stood at the back of the group, her eyes focused on the massive metal cube taking up most of the space in the hangar.
Behind her glasses, her eyes studied the strange symbols carved into the surface of it, curious. It was Cybertronian and even with her background as a human, she knew what it said almost instinctively. The words seemed to flow through her head as she studied each of the symbols. There were a variety of them, most seeming to incline towards protection and safety. There were a select few that meant power or danger.
"Quinn?"
Sam's voice interrupted her thoughts and she turned to look at him, realizing that the others were starting to leave. Only Sam and Mikaela waited, hand in hand.
"Coming," she reassured, flashing a smile at them as she followed the group slowly, filing out of the hangar and into another room.
This room instantly set her instincts on edge and her eyes sharpened behind her sunglasses, observing everything around her. The walls were thick metal, at least a few inches thick, and had claw marks decorating them. In the center of the room, a glass box rested on a pedestal, thick wires connecting the box to outside the room. Quinn tensed unnoticeably, hearing the quiet thud of the door closing behind the group as everyone fully entered the room.
This room hadn't been built to keep others out, like one would expect. No, Quinn knew it had been built to keep something in.
"Does anyone have a mechanical device? A phone maybe?" Simmons asked, glancing around.
"I have a phone," Glenn answered, tossing it to the agent readily.
"Nokia's are real nasty. But you gotta respect the Japanese. They knew the way of the samurai," Simmons commented idly as he opened the box and placed the phone inside, closing it securely afterwards.
Another man, Banachek she had heard him be named, passed out a set of goggles to everyone and Quinn shook her head, not bothering to take a pair. Her eyes were already protected by the set of dark tinted sunglasses. She stood in the back, behind Mikaela and Sam, the couple watching curiously.
"We're able to take the cube radiation and direct it into this box," Simmons explained as he pressed a button on a remote. There was a rush of energy and the air suddenly felt strange. Quinn suddenly felt energized, as if she had just woken up from several days of good rest. She blinked, surprised, as there was a small sound of static before the phone erupted into a tinier robot, its various parts still transforming.
Bright, ruby red optics glanced around curiously, a touch of confusion forming. They locked with Quinn's and widened. Surprisingly, he showed little to no interest in the others in the room as he crawled up to the glass directly in front of Quinn, chirping and clicking loudly. A tiny clawed, metal hand reached out and tapped the glass in front of him, his eyes focused on the femme in disguise.
Her heart softened at the desperate plea behind those clicks and chirps. She reached out, ignoring the interaction between the others and snatching the remote out of Simmons' hand, ignoring his yell and attempt at taking it back. Gripping it, she pressed the button and opened the glass box, reaching inside with one hand. The little mech stared at her hand for a few moments before scuttling forward, gripping onto it tightly as she carefully withdrew her hand from the box without dislodging him.
"Shh… it's alright, little one," Quinn smiled softly as she cupped him in her hands, bringing him up to her face. The sparkling relaxed once his tiny hand touched her cheek, feeling comforting warmth. One of her hands cupped him protectively as the other reached down to her side, pulling out her gun and pointing it directly to her left without even glancing away from the little sparkling in her grasp.
"Don't even think about it, Seymour. It's just a child. He hasn't committed any crimes, let alone any severe enough to be killed." Her voice was casual but held a note of warning to it that, along with the gun, caused the angry agent to pause in his approach.
"Just who are you, kid?! And what do you think you're doing with that thing?"
"Quinn, the newest Autobot recruit, and I'm protecting the only sparkling in existence at the moment," she retorted, glaring at him from behind her sunglasses. Concentrating, the sunglasses disappeared, flickering out of existence and revealing her purple eyes.
