Hwllo :3 I've got writer's block and has been a complete butt and my science partner gives me the worst headaches which is bad because science is the first subject I have of the day . . . Satan it still hurts . . .
Anywho
The Insane One or PonyGrim don't own Ouran Highschool Host Club or Soul Eater or any music featured in this story, they only own the Shinpitekina "family" and friends!
Akairo's POV:
He was still at Ouran Private Academy in the second music room looking for the music sheets which has mysteriously disappeared. "Theo's going to kill me for this . . ."
"I sure would." He jumped snapping around to see Theo standing behind him. He sweatdropped looking around for a way to escape. Theo smirked, "Safe your breath and follow me, the rest of the band is already gathering the papers outside."
"Outside?" He asked looking out the window to see Raitoningu and Akuma sitting in a tree collecting scattered papers.
Theo shook his head, "We decided to explore the campus for a while while waiting for you and we spotted the papers while looking out the library papers. They're all over campus but we got most of them." He explained as they ran outside to help.
They were immediately greeting by a not very amused Raitoningu and Coal. "What happened . . ." They growled almost crushing the pens in their fists.
Theo patted him on the back, "Good luck bro." Before running off to help Akuma.
~Mini Time Skip~
After a brutal and merciless beat down from both Coal and Raitoningu, Akairo limped his way across campus collecting any other music sheets the others may have missed. He was currently in a tree they skipped over trying to reach a piano piece on the tip of a very high up branch. "Almost . . ."
Just as he was about to grasp the sheet a gust of wind blew it out of the tree and into a bush on the ground. He cursed enough under his breath to make the devil blush before looking around for a way down. Slowly inching down the truck to the ground he heard approaching footsteps, "Akairo?" Surprised he lost his grasp on the branch and landed into one of the many fountains. "Aka-chan!" (I suck at Japanese . . .) He was pulled out of the fountain with surprising strength and found himself leaning against the tree rubbing his head.
"Oww . . ." He winced touching a soft spot. "Honey-senpai?"
Small arms tackled him banging his head against the tree trunk making his grit his teeth, "Aka-chan!"
Ayanokoji's POV:
She shuffled through the pictures annoyed. They had taken pictures of as many of the papers that stupid new "member" of the Host Club. Many of the papers they gathered were music sheets, the others were pages filled with (supposedly) random numbers.
There was a groan behind her and she turned to Meinu Meiwakuna, second child and only daughter of the Meiwakuna corporation known for instrument manufacturing and usual guest of Mori. She was known to be very vain and into visual arts having little interest in music itself. Wavy light brown hair that was kept a little past shoulder length and usually put up in a half bun with lighter honey coloured eyes. "Why are we doing this again? This is just pictures of their pointless music sheets!"
"And these numbers/letters aren't making any sense," Shiri Awaya, first child out of several of the Awaya Floral company and usual guest of Honey. A very uninteresting girl with a little higher than average score at mathematics and algebra, horrible at gardening. She had straight blonde hair which she simply kept in a neat ponytail matched with a piercing blue eyes. "Look at this!" She turned the picture she was examining to them.
"NO+O=
14-NP=
NW+Q+S=
V+(P+P+P)=
OW+R="
There was the sound of somebody hitting the desk and they all looked to see Jāku Taikutsuna, third daughter of Taikutsuna printing agency and greatly interested in nano-robotics. Short with dark red hair and black eyes, commonly found with Kyoya discussing the newest technology. "What's the point of this again?"
"It's bad enough they let that wretch, Fujioka join the club, but six more is too far!" A girl exclaimed. Hisui Burondo, second daughter of the Burondo food industry and experienced baker. Curly brown hair and deep brown eyes, a rather normal girl of the twins.
Honey's POV:
As he was walking back from kendo club with his cousin Mori he saw a figure clinging to a tree in the distance. As they got closer Honey recognized the outstanding red hair, "Aka-chan!" He cried out, accidentally surprising him and making him loose his grip and fall into the fountain. "Oh no!" In a moment's flash he was besides his red-headed friend and pulled him out of the fountain under the tree.
He watched concerned as Akairo rubbed his head touching a soft spot, "Oww . . ." Looking around Honey saw Mori walking closer with a piece of paper in his hand he retrieved from the bush near by. "Honey-senpai?"
He couldn't help himself, "Aka-chan!" He exclaimed tackling him into a hug and accidentally knocking him against the tree. "Aka-chan I'm so sorry!" He cried, tears in his eyes.
He opened his eyes blinking, "Oh-it's okay Honey-senpai,"
Blinking the tears out of his eyes his eyes widened even more, "Are you okay?"
Rubbing his head again he nodded, "Yea, you just surprised me that's all." He started to look around, "Hey did you see a paper in a bush by any chance?"
"Hn." The red-haired boy looked over to Mori senpai who was holding out the said paper, his face brightened as he reached out to it.
"Oh thank you so much Mori-senpai!" He exclaimed.
Honey tilted his head innocently, "What's the paper for? And why were you in a tree Aka-chan?"
Akairo blinked for a moment before jumping up in realization, he looked around frantically and started to run in a dizzy fashion only to be brought back promptly by his cousin. "Look I'm sorry guys," he struggled to get up again only to be forced back down, "But all the papers I was working on with the band got scattered around the campus so I'm going over to see if I can spot any, there was one in the tree but the wind blew it into the bush so I was going to get it."
"Then we'll help you out Aka-chan!" Honey exclaimed happily.
"Really?"
Honey couldn't help but giggle as Akairo brightened, he was like a puppy.
Akairo teared up and looked like he wanted to kiss him, "Oh thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" he cried as he tackled his shorter sempai in a hug.
Kaoru's POV:
His brother groaned as they were searching the gardens for music papers with Zach.
Honey had skipped up to them with a wet and shivering Akairo and Mori explaining something about music papers for the band and of course Tamaki volunteered them to help out.
Hikaru groaned, "Explain to me why we're doing this again?"
"Because the boss told us to, besides, Coal and Raitoningu looked like they were going to murder Akairo for loosing the papers so maybe there's some juicy secrets written down." Kaoru replied patiently as he circled a tree.
A gust of wind suddenly hit them carrying rose petals from the maze a few feet away. The twins noticed Zach stiffen and cautiously look around as if he was being followed before slowly going back to searching. "What's up with the three of them anyway?" Hikaru asked loudly.
Kaoru checked to make sure Zach didn't hear them, "What do you mean?"
"Well the chokers, being all protective of each other, and the roses thing." Hikaru started.
He shrugged, "We were pretty strange before the met the boss and created the Host Club."
"Hey guys!" Zach looked like he signed a death warrant as he called over, they turned their heads to him, "Let's go check the maze."
~Time Skip~
"Hikaru." He turned his head to see that he was still alone. "Hkaru?" He called out, walking around the maze, "Hikaru~" (Okay, please just deal with the fact that I used "~" with no "?", "!", or punctuation. I'm just saying this because I feel like somebody will be a nitpick about this :T)
After wandering around for a few minutes with Hikaru by his side, Zach seemed to had disappeared. They had stayed together until he realized that his brother's angry stomping and muttered curses stopped.
He opened the door and stepped in, his mouth dropped to the ground in awe. "Where am I?" He stepped forward. He had stepped into a white rose garden, only, the leaves and grass were a snowy white and the trunks and stems of plants were golden. He looked down to see the path was made of large sparkling clear stones, the size of his head at least. Underneath the stones he could see a fine gold dust under and filling in the cracks. He wandered over to the pond, it had a small slow waterfall trickling down the rocks. The water was crystal clear and the bottom was covered with tiny crystals, large white swans glided gracefully on the surface, not even a ripple of appearing in the water.
"Hello?" He called out desperately, "Is anybody here?"
There was the sound of panting coming from far away, "Who's there?" A dove flew past him in a flash of soft white feathers.
Just as he was about to walk back when he saw a blonde girl with bright blue eyes in a white sundress and lacy sweater and slippers walk around. "There you are!" She smiled cheerfully as she ran towards him. "Kaoru! I've been waiting to meet you."
Kaoru's eyes widened, "How did you know I was Kaoru?"
She tilted her head to the side innocently, a slight pout on her face, "I can just tell." She features brightened and she gasped as if she just realized something, "Come with me!" She grabbed his hand and started to drag him away. The dove flew next to them as she moved quickly.
"W-what? Wait! Where are you taking me!?" Kaoru asked as he was being dragged by the girl. He wanted to pull his hand away but couldn't find himself strong enough, like he didn't want to do the effort. "Can you at least tell me where I am?!"
The girl slowed and turned around, "Hmm . . . I never thought of a name. I guess we can call it . . your own little Drop of Heaven!"
"I'M DEAD?!" Kaoru shouted, yanking his hand back.
She giggled lightly, "No, this is a sample of what Heaven might look like for you!"
". . ."
"Kaoru?"
He shock his head, "Why am I here though?" he insisted, "Who are you?!"
She sighed, getting slightly impatient. "I'm . . ." she paused to think for a moment, "You're Guardian Angel!" She drew the rest out slowly as if she was unsure.
Kaoru shook his head, "Why are you here though?!"
Her features hardened, quickly becoming serious. "We want you to join us."
"What?!" Kaoru shouted, jumping back.
"We have been watching over you and have seen how pure you are. We were planning on recruiting you later but the presence of demons have entered Ouran. So for you safety, we want you to join now." She explained quickly.
"Slow down!" Kaoru looked around unsure, "What do you mean by demons?"
Her expression was shadowed and grim, "How much do you trust the new club members?"
His mouth dropped open, "How much did he trust the band?" Well, he didn't hate them. The triplets were pretty cold, but they were warming up, and Akairo, Akuma, and Raitoningu were easy to get along with. But trust them? They were part of the host club but what did he really know about them?
"Kaoru!"
Kaoru turned numbly to see Zach running towards them. He stopped a few feet away, panting, a look of relief in his eyes until it turned to the girl.
The air became deadly cold and all traces of the birds disappeared except for a dove that the girl stroked on her hand. The scene around them seemed to darken and gray. He plucked a white rose from a near by bush, holding it far away from his body. Carelessly he pricked his finger on the throns and watched the blood pool in his palm.
Kaoru stayed silent, unsure what to say while he felt the girl glare at the back of his head, switching between him and Zach.
Zach turned over his hand and let the blood stream on the white rose, turning it a dark red that looked black. The girl stepped forward, her once gentle features curled into an ugly snarl. "Did you come here only to taint his Drop of Heaven?" she spat.
Zach frowned and threw the bloody rose at the girl, she moved back repulsed, letting the wet rose drop to the ground with a sickening splat. The rose laid limp on the ground and Kaoru watched as ground under grew darker and soggy. Thorny black vines with prickly leaves started to spout from the darkened ground until it took the shape of a rose bush, dark green and silver buds appearing among the leaves.
Zach looked up from his bush, clearly pleased but his expression was still grim. "I'll be taking Kaoru back to the others now." he said smugly. "I think Hiakru will be looking for you by now." Zach turned his gaze to Kaoru pointedly.
Kauro just gave a slight nod and numbly started to step forward. Suddenly a small hand yanked him back, the girl stepped forward towards Zach.
"I didn't come all the way here just to let you get away with this!" The dove flew back to her shoulder carrying something in its beak. She removed it and pointed it at Zach, he stiffened slightly. The girl was pointing a small golden and pearl dagger.
"Now Marg-"
"Megumareta." She interrupted him, "You'll call me Megumareta Junsuina. I won't have my name tainted by your foul tongue."
Zach looked like he wanted to laugh, "Megumareta it is then," He reached behind his back and pulled out two silver and obsidian daggers.
She scowled and muttered something under her breath. Megumareta wasted no time, going first she lunged Zach passing him on the left while lashing out her dagger tearing his shirt. As Megumareta stumbled forward to catch her balance Zach elbowed her in the back, making her stumble some more, and pulled her back with his arm under her chin. She elbowed him in the ribs making him release her and she spun around pointing the dagger to his chest. Zach narrowed his eyes then kicked her knees making her legs go limp and collapse.
Zach panted and turned to Kaoru, "We need to get out of here now!" Kaoru nodded and followed him as Zach ripped through the sleeve of his shirt with his own dagger and dripped his blood in a trail after them as they ran letting black thorn bushes sprout up.
Kaoru finally snapped out of his shock and tripped over his feet, "Zach? Zach!"
Zach slipped into a stop and looked around before dragging Kaoru into a clump of what was once snowy trees. "Megumareta, what did she say to you?" He questioned him as they stopped beneath a tree and Zach began to carelessly wrap his hand to stop the flow of blood.
Kaoru shook his head, "What is going on here?!" he demanded.
Zach ripped off the end of the bandages and put the rest of the roll away from where and flexed his hand, wincing slightly. He got up and started to walk away from the path slowly, motioning for Kaoru to follow him. As they walked Zach picked up his pace and he asked again, "Kaoru, what did Megumareta say to you?"
"She said that she was my 'Guardian Angel' and that she wanted me to join her because my soul was pure?" Kaoru said, "What does that even mean?"
Zach ignored him, moving forward. "Look I'll explain later, we just can't stop here."
Sudden anger filled Kaoru as he stopped moving, "No! I want to know the truth now! What. Is. Going. On."
Zach looked annoyed and tired, his confidence and strength gone. "Megumareta and her team are very bad people, her team and the band don't mix well-"
Before he could finish a flurry of white feathers rained on them while a slight scent of roses filled the air. Kaoru heard Zach curse under his breath as he looked around for the source, he turned to Kaoru quickly, "Kaoru please we need to get out of here."
Kaoru took a few steps back, unsure. Nobody was answering his questions. At least he was getting somewhere with Megumareta. The scent of roses grew strong and filled his head as he saw Zach sway slightly. She said she was my Guardian Angel, right? Angels are supposed to be good, they help people . . . you can trust angels. Kaoru's thoughts became sluggish and clouded as he stumbled back until his back hit the trunk of one of the trees. He saw Zach struggling to support himself against another tree and start to slide down, the streak of green vibrant against the snowy white everywhere. Zach seemed to murmur something as he slumped down to the ground. Can I trust him? What do I know about them?
A clear voice rang out in his head, "Do you want to join us?"
Kaoru lifted his head slowly to see a blonde girl with bright blue eyes in a white sundress and lacy sweater and slippers standing before a light, shading his view. Her silhouette fell on him and in the flurry of white dove feathers, she appeared to have wings.
He opened his mouth ready to respond to the question, words ringing in his head. (Please don't kill me for the next part here, it's not really my style of writing but . . . *hides behind desktop*)
Angels.
He lifted his head up to the light.
Heaven.
His mouth opened in his dream-like state.
Pure.
Words started to form and build up in his throat.
Demons.
He stopped, a clear spot in his clouded mind.
Tainted.
He blinked, his thoughts becoming clearer. Looking across he saw Zach slumped against a tree opposite of his, the leaves turning gray and black, the trunk becoming a misty silver. The girl was gone. What was her name? Megumareta, right?
His sight still slightly fuzzy he used the tree to stand up, leaning against it for support. Ash seemed to fall and mix with the dove feathers, the feathers steadily becoming darker and darker. He focused on the feathers, mixing with each other in the air but refusing to touch each other.
Then something feel through the dancing feathers, it was white, but not white like the angelic-like girl, a dimmer white like Zach's hair. The white fell to the ground arousing more feathers, as Kaoru's sight started to focus he saw red start to form among the feathers.
A slight feeling of panic filled him and he stood up straighter, trying to clear his head some more. The lines started to become more visible and he could see that the red was only a streak in the snowy white.
Coal.
A sharp pain shot through his head as the name flashed in his mind making him appeared in front of him again, she looked slightly tired and disgust with a hint of disappointment. She looked back at the two brothers quickly before taking out a small crystal vial shaped like a feather with golden accents, light seemed to radiate from it as he looked at the clear liquid inside. His head was still unclear so he struggled to hear her as her lips started to move.
". . . forced to leave you. . . you can't join them . . . long as you can . . . contact me . . . liquid . . . Holy water . . ."
Before Kaoru could ask her to repeat herself there was a flash of green and Kaoru could see that Zach had gotten up again. Megumareta shouted something and there was a flash of light. Kaoru remembered Coal and scrambled over to his body. He was panting and his eyes struggled to stay open, his body curled up. Kaoru placed a hand on Coal's body to find it damp, like it was sprayed with something, Coal shivered under his touch.
"Zach!" Kaoru called, looking around. He noticed Zach coming towards them as the feathers began to lessen and only black ones were scattered on the ground.
Zach ran over to them, his eyes filled with worry when they landed on Coal. "Come on, we need to get Theo." Zach said quietly, his voice tinted with panic. Zach picked up Coal bridal style, being careful with his head, and turned, walking away quickly. Kaoru nodded numbly as he followed Zach through the trees. Finally they came back to the pond, the water was swirling with ash and black feathers scattered the ashy grass.
Zach unwrapped his bandages as they came to a wall of white rose bushes, he gently put Coal down on the grass then turned to the bushes and splattered his blood in an arc onto the rose bushes watching them blacken and wilt. The branches started to shift and twist, the thorns becoming sharper and unforgiving, they continued to shift until they revealed a simple black door behind the bushes. Zach bent down and picked up Coal carefully, readjusted his position and motioned with his head for Kaoru to open the door.
Kaoru hesitantly walked towards the door and put a hand on the smooth surface, it was cold to the touch reminding him of ice. Pushing it open a thick silvery fog spilled into the garden surrounding them. He looked behind him to see Zach walking away into the thick fog, trying to call out Kaoru found his voice stuck in his throat. The fog thickened, surrounding him, the silvery substance growing lighter and lighter until he was forced to closed his eyes where there was complete darkness. He felt like her was floating, the ground disappeared beneath him and all senses seemed to dull.
When he managed to muster the strength to open his eyes again he found himself sitting in the stone gazebo that was located in the center of the rose maze. His head felt slightly foggy, but not in the way it felt when in the garden. His mind was clouded but his senses seemed heightened and alert.
"Kaoru!" His head perked up as he turned towards the sound, "Kaoru!" There was the sound of distance footsteps getting louder and louder until he could see his twin appear from the hedges.
His brother looked around before stopping him in the gazebo. Rushing over to him his brother dotted on him excessively. He sorta of tuned out for the most part . . . until one question brought him back to the present.
"Where were you anyway?" Hikaru asked, getting closer into his brother's face.
Just as Kaoru was about to open his mouth something stopped him. "Don't tell him." he paused. Usually it wasn't good to be hearing voices in your head, only this voice sounded a lot like Zach's. And not the "normal" calm and relaxed teasing Zach tone, the serious tone that he used when that girl appeared in the garden.
Before he could comprehend what he was doing he glanced up at the sky to see it turned a golden rosy hue since he had last looked. "How long has it been . . . ?" Kaoru asked, slightly forgetting his brother's question.
Hikaru looked at the sky and gave a "hmpth" as he looked at the sky back to his brother, "I've been out here for hours trying to find you-" he was cut off by a ringtone which Kaoru recognized. Hikaru took out the phone holding it away from his ear for good measure before answering the call. They waited a while before bringing it closer between them.
Adapting to his cold tone he answered in unison with his brother, "What is it Kyoya?"
"Where are you two?"
"The gazebo in the rose maze, have you seen Zach?"
There was a pause at the end of the line, " All of the band members left, they said Coal fell into a fountain and Zach got a cut."
Kaoru zoned out of the conversation, lost in his own thoughts. Brought back to reality when Hikaru bid Kyoya goodbye and put away the cellphone.
Band's POV:
Theo kept on making "tch" sounds as he examined his older brother's injured hand. The cut had started shallow but it had gotten deeper when he was running past some rose bushes. He felt Zach wince as he cleaned it with rubbing alcohol. "Stop crying you baby." Theo spat at him, purposely rubbing harder than need be.
There was a hand on his shoulder and he looked up to see Akuma there, his eyes telling him to stop. Theo glared silently as he handed the bottle and cotton to him, getting up and going into the other apartment where Akuma, Raitoningu, and Akairo were staying next doors.
There Raitoningu and Akairo were sitting on a couch to the right from when you walk in. The two apartments were slightly bigger than the normal ones in the complex, There were three separate rooms that could be used as bedrooms or studies, one bathroom, and an open kitchen connected to a dining space/living room. Each of them had their own room and had a piano sitting in the corner across from the couch with a small coffee table between them and a comfy chair to the side.
The sound of running water could be heard from inside the apartment and Theo sat down on the chair quietly, not bothering to look at their of them as they motioned their heads towards the back. A while later and the water stopped just as Zach and Akuma joined them in the room, leaving them in a loud silence. The sound of a door opening and a slight humid feel entered the room.
Coal walked in wearing black sweatpants and sweatshirt, a white towel around his neck, his hair still damp. "What?" He asked blandly as he made his way towards the kitchen and put the kettle on. Akiaro stood up and got out a mug a the tea leaves.
After Coal made his tea he sat in the middle of the couch between Raitoningu and Akairo, sipping his tea. He looked from every face to the room to each of them, "So. what are we going to do about Kaoru?"
Stupid. Fudging. Writer's. Block.
