A/N: I do not own Fairy Tail or Angel with a Shotgun. This is just for fun.
Levy first heard the song when walking in a town while on a mission with team Shadow Gear. While only catching part of a verse that one verse became stuck in her mind. Every time she was alone or even reading that one line always wormed its way into her mind. This one line haunted the solid script mage to no end for the length of three months until she finally broke one day while at the park.
It was a glorious day outside; sunny and warm with a very subtle breeze. Levy was sitting in the shade of a large oak tree reading a large tome over an ancient language. Without realizing it she began to softly hum the tune of the song that had been plaguing her for a little over three months now. Levy continued to sporadically hum her tune. This pattern continued over the course of several hours until it was later afternoon.
Gajeel was enjoying the nice weather by walking around the park. He and Pantherlily had just gotten back to Magnolia after a week-long training session. The guild hall had been too loud for the iron dragon slayer; plus he could not help but notice the absence of a certain blue haired mage. Mirajane had noticed that the dragon slayer had been scanning the guild hall and with Lily right next to his side it was easy to guess who he was looking for. Walking past Mirajane whispered to the dragon slayer "Check the park. She likes to read there." Gajeel wanted to protest, but Mira just shot him a look and a wink as she walked off to fetch Laxus another beer. Now Gajeel found himself walking around the park enjoying the weather and subconsciously following his nose.
As the dragon slayer approached the tree Levy was sitting under he caught the sound of Levy humming and singing. Gajeel paused standing just out of sight from where Levy was sitting. "I would throw away my fake name if I could keep you safe." Gajeel's eyes widened; he did not know that the Shrimp knew that song, or that she had such an incredible voice. Gajeel waited for Levy to continue singing but was surprised to hear her sigh before singing the same line again. Finally Gajeel walked forward "Oi, Shrimp why do ya keep singing that same line over and over?" Levy jumped since she had been lost in her tome and had not even realized that she had been singing again. With a sigh Levy looked up at the Iron dragon slayer with a slight blush on her face. "I only know that one line. I heard the song a few months back while on a mission and that one line keeps popping back up into my head. Mira did not know what the song was." Gajeel smiled "Gihihi. If I teach you that song you gotta sing it for me." A slight blush crept across the dragon slayer's face. "You gotta great voice, Shrimp." Levy's eyes went wide and blush was now prominent on her face. The bluenette took a minute to think over the offer. While thinking she began to hum the line again. Gajeel smirked as he noticed what his Shrimp had not. Finally Levy looked up into Gajeels' blood red eyes "Okay, deal. So what is the name of the song?"
Gajeel smirked at Levy "The song is called Angel with a Shotgun by CAB Symphony, Shrimp. Now come on. My guitar is at the guild you and I can practice in the guild's library where no one will bug us." Levy nodded and began to follow the iron dragon slayer back to the guild hall.
Once Gajeel and Levy were sitting in the guild's library; Gajeel had his guitar in his lap "Okay Shrimp here are the lyrics: (I'm an angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun, An angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun..)
Get out your guns, battle's begun, are you a saint, or a sinner?
If love's a fight, then I shall die, with my heart on a trigger.
They say before you start a war, you better know what you're fighting for.
Well baby, you are all that I adore, if love is what you need, a soldier I will be.
I'm an angel with a shotgun, fighting 'til the war's won,
I don't care if heaven won't take me back. I'll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe.
Don't you know you're everything I have? ..and I, wanna live, not just survive, tonight. Sometimes to win, you've got to sin, don't mean I'm not a believer.
..and major Tom, will sing along. Yeah, they still say I'm a dreamer.
Don't you know you're everything I have? ..and I, wanna live, not just survive, tonight.
ooooohhhhhhhh, ooooooohhhhh whoa whoa oooh whoa
I'm an angel with a shotgun.. fighting 'til the war's won..
I don't care if heaven won't take me back.. I'm an angel with a shotgun,
fighting til' the war's won, I don't care if heaven won't take me back.
I'll throw away my faith, babe, just to keep you safe. Don't you know you're everything I have?
(I'm an angel with a shotgun) ..and I, want to live, not just survive, tonight.
(Live, not just survive) ..and I'm gonna hide, hide, hide my wings tonight.
They say before you start a war, you better know what you're fighting for.
Well baby, you are all that I adore, if love is what you need, a soldier I will be."
As Gajeel finished Levy found that she had tears in her eyes. She could now see why this song had been in her head for the past few months. She wanted to be Gajeel's angel. Ever since the dragon slayer began to defend her after she forgave him she had wanted to become stronger so she could protect the slayer. "Oi. Shrimp, you okay?" Gajeel asked. He was worried since he could see the tears in Levy's eyes. Levy nodded "I'm fine, Gajeel. That song was really beautiful." "Ghihi just wait until you start to sing the whole thing, Shrimp. You have a light voice that I think will do better than my gravel." Levy blushed before nodding "Okay let's get to work. A deal is deal."
As the next few hours passed Levy mastered singing the song; Gajeel was enjoying every time Levy sang. Her voice was like heaven on his sensitive ears. Mirajane had been walking back from Master's office after taking him some dinner to eat when she heard Levy's voice coming from the library. After listening for a few minutes the takeover mage had an idea. Mirajane slipped into the library with a small microphone in hand. She walked to the shelf where on the other side Levy was singing and Gajeel was just strumming his guitar. Turning the microphone on; she set it on the top of the books. Mira quietly slipped out and listened as Levy's sweet tone began to play over the guild's speaker system. Everyone in the guild hall froze as they listened to the angelic voice that drifted over the sound system. Levy and Gajeel were both unaware of the performance they were putting on. By the time the duo had finished the latest take at the song both froze as they hear clapping from outside the library. The duo was shocked to find that their guild mates had heard the last playing of the song. Gajeel and Levy looked at each other before taking a bow.
The two shortly left the hall for the night not liking all the attention their guild mates were giving them. As Gajeel walked Levy back to Fairy Hills levy stopped at looked up at the iron dragon slayer. "Thank you for teaching me the song today, Gajeel." "Tch. Was not a problem at all, Shrimp. Ya got an amazing voice." Levy blushed "T-th-thank you, Gajeel." Next thing Levy did shocked both of them as she quickly stood on her tip toes and placed a soft, light kiss on Gajeel's cheek. As soon as she lowered herself Levy took off through the gates of Fairy Hills calling over her shoulder "Good night, Gajeel thanks again."
Gajeel watched in stunned silence as Levy disappeared into Fairy Hills his hand resting on his cheek where Levy had kissed him. A blush was clear on his shocked face. A smile split across his face "Ghihi, good night, Levy…..my angel." The iron dragon slayer then turned and began to walk home all the while humming the chorus.
A/N: Sorry if Gajeel and Levy were out of character. See you in a few days for the last prompt. (Hopefully I will have time to write tomorrow as well.) Until next time ~Katt
