I don't own Naruto. I only wrote the fan fiction! If some of the characters seem a little OC-ish then I'm sorry - I haven't been keeping up with the episodes so don't bug me, and I might have changed a couple things - that is another thing NOT to bug me about! There may also be other characters in this story that ARE OC so don't start telling me that I added characters...please! (Italic - thoughts, "..." is speech, and ~~ is flashback)

Only Time Will Tell - Naruto and Sakura's Surprise!

The next morning Kakashi woke up to knocking on his front door. "Ugh...I'm comin'...I-I'm comin'..." He said sleepily. He got some cloths on and walked to the front door. He opened the door to see Sakura and Naruto. "Oh hey you two...what do need?"

"You heard the scream yesterday right?" The pink-haired girl asked.

"Yeah why?"

"Well we heard that the person being attacked was a girl at the age of ten years old, but we didn't find out her name..." Sakura said.

"Her name is Seri. Seri Uchiha."

"Seri UCHIHA?!"

"That's what I said...why?"

"Sasuke never mentioned a sister..."

"Not even he knew he had a sister...that's why."

The two were silent.

"Well if you'll excuse me I'm going to go back inside. I'll see you guys later."

"Wait!" Naruto said; making the jounin stop.

"What?"

"Where's Sasuke?"

"He ended up in the hospital..."

"WHAT?"

"That's right...he's in the hospital...he almost died saving his sister from a group of five sound ninja...everything's changed, and only time will tell when Sasuke's RELEASED from the hospital..."

"Can we go see him?" The spiky-haired boy asked

"I'd rather you go see him with me and Seri...so we can all see him..."

"Okay...I'd like that even better." Naruto said with a goofy smile.

"Yes...well I'm going to go back inside now...unless you have more questions..."

"Nope...I've got no other questions. We'll see ya later Kakashi-sensei."

"See ya." He said shutting the door. The jounin turned around to see Seri; making him jump, slightly out of shock.

Seri giggled at the man's reaction. "Did I startle ya?"

Kakashi leaned against the door. "Just a little."

"Who were you talking to?"

"A couple of my students."

"Are they from my brother's team?"

"Yup."

"Cool...what are their names?"

"Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno."

She nodded. "Nice."

"Are you hungry this morning?"

"Yeah. Why are you making breakfast?"

"I was going to...did you want me to make you something?"

"Sure...I'll have whatever you're having - I'm not picky about what I eat."

"Alright. C'mon. Why don't you help me then?"

The girl's eyes seemed to light up. "Really?!"

"Sure." He said smiling. "You sure are a lucky kid to have such a sister like here ya know...Sasuke...I just want you home..."

The two walked into the kitchen to make some breakfast; only to be stopped by yet another knocking at the door.

"You have GOT to be kidding me."

"I could make breakfast instead if you want me to Kakashi."

"Sure...that would be very helpful...thank you Seri."

"Sure thing Kakashi." Seri said with a bright smile. She started to grab different ingredients to make something for the two of them.

Kakashi walked to the door and opened it. He sighed. "What is it Iruka?"

"How did you know it was me?"

"It's just the way you knock..."

"Oh..."

"What did you need? I haven't even been able to eat my breakfast yet!"

"I was wondering if you know what happened yesterday after that scream that we heard...I mean we saw Sasuke run in that direction, but then you left...what happened?"

Kakashi looked down at the ground. "Sasuke was able to kill four of the five sound ninja that were there...but..."

"He didn't...die...did he?"

"No...he was close though..."

"How did this happen?"

"It was a split second thing...not even I saw it coming and yet it happened."

Iruka was silent; he turned to walk away. "I hope he'll be okay, and I'm sorry this happened Kakashi..." He said before walking away.

Kakashi sighed. "Thanks..." He said under his breath. He shut the door and walked into the kitchen to see two plates of eggs, bacon, and a side of French toast. He smiled and sat down across from Seri. "You made this?"

"Yup; I sure did! Take a bite so I can know how I did!" The girl said cheerfully.

Kakashi picked up some of his egg and ate it; swallowing his eyes widened slightly. "Wow...this is really good...how did you make taste like this?"

"I'm not telling." Seri teased.

The two ate their breakfast, but something still felt off - Sasuke wasn't there with them to enjoy breakfast. They had eaten in silence; fully knowing that one of them would bring up the fact that Sasuke wasn't there.

After they finished Kakashi put the plates in the sink. He walked over to Seri. "You should go get changed."

"Why?"

"We're going to go see Sasuke if it's not too early."

"Okay." The young Uchiha said with a smile before skipping down the hall to the guest room to get changed.

Kakashi walked to his room to change. He couldn't keep him mind off of Sasuke and how he looked lying in that hospital bed. "I hope I'm not too early to see you..." He thought as he pulled his mask up. He walked out of his room to see Seri waiting for him at the end of the hallway. "Well someone didn't waste any time getting changed..." He thought as he walked next to her.

The two left the house and started in the direction of the hospital; only to be met by Sakura and Naruto. "Oh hey sensei...where are you and Seri goin'?"

"We're going to go see Sasuke...did you two want to come?"

"Yeah...we were just coming to meet you two."

"Well then let's go."

"Alright."
