I don't own Naruto. I only wrote the fan fiction! If some of the characters seem a little OC-ish then I'm sorry - I haven't been keeping up with the episodes so don't bug me, and I might have changed a couple things - that is another thing NOT to bug me about! There may also be other characters in this story that ARE OC so don't start telling me that I added characters...please! (Italic - thoughts or dreams, "..." is speech, and ~~ is flashback)

Re-Occurring Nightmares

Kakashi and Sasuke walked to Kakashi's house and went down the hall to Kakashi's room.

Sasuke yawned.

Kakashi looked at the boy with a tired-ish smile. "Tired much?"

Sasuke nodded; a smile on his face as well. "Pretty much..."

"I only ask because you're yawning." Kakashi said with a chuckle. The man walked by Sasuke to go back to the hall; giving a quick nudge. "Get changed. I want you in bed by the time I get back okay?"

Sasuke nodded. "Sure." He said sleepily.

Kakashi left the room and walked down the hall to the living room. He sat on the couch and found a scroll he needed to read and possibly give to Sasuke to read. The scroll was labeled "Controlling Tailed Beast Chakra". Kakashi decided to read it so he'd know what to do with Sasuke in order to help him control the Ten-Tails' chakra.

Sasuke climbed into bed and decided to stare out the window at the calm night sky. "Every star with its own shine...just like a person." Sasuke thought before he climbed into the windowsill. He sat there and starred outside; his eyes reflecting the stars.

Kakashi had finished reading the scroll and stood to head for his bedroom. "He's probably asleep by now...*sigh*...I guess it's better than still being in that hospital bed. He resting here and he's with me...that's all I need." Kakashi thought as he stepped in the bedroom door; seeing Sasuke starring out the window. The jounin smiled and sighed. "What part of 'in bed' don't you get?" He asked walking over and sitting down on the bed.

"I can't really sleep..." Sasuke said shyly.

"Is it because of that White Snake clone from Orochimaru?"

Sasuke nodded; continuing to stare out the window.

"How is it out there?" Kakashi asked changing the subject.

"Quiet...calm...beautiful..."

Kakashi crawled over to the gennin sitting in the window. "Just like you." He whispered into the boy's ear.

A blush crawled across the boy's face. "W-what? L-like m-me?"

Kakashi wrapped his arms around the gennin's waist and pulled him down onto his lap. "Yup...just like you. I'm not gonna lie - you're pretty drop-dead gorgeous." Kakashi said with a sly smirk.

"Well THAT'S a new compliment...what's with that?" Sasuke thought. "Hey I have a quick question...sensei."

"What is it?"

"What's with the compliments all the sudden?"

"What? Is it a crime to express feelings now?"

"F-feelings?"

"Yeah...feelings...for you..."

"F-for me, b-but...why me?"

"Well that's easy. I like you because you're one of a kind; a unique person who's really changed since just a couple days ago...but that's not what I'm really after..."

"Then...?"

"I like you for the person you are Sasuke...nothing else."

"Oh Really?!"

"What?"

"I catch you staring at me all the time...what does that tell you?"

Kakashi gulped; he never thought that Sasuke knew he was starring at him.

Sasuke smirked; a small sleepy-ish smirk, but none the less a smirk. "Heh...alright I get it...I get it...I'll stop."

"I guess the nothing else part was kinda a lie..." Kakashi said scratching the back of his head with a sheepish smile on his face.

"Really?!"

"Yeah...I like a lot of things about you Sasuke. I like your smile, your eyes, and...pathetic as this may sound, but I like you in general...everything about you...you have no flaws...you're...perfect..."

Sasuke's eyes widened. "P-perfect? No flaws, b-b-but..." Sasuke thought as Kakashi kissed his forehead.

"You should try to get some rest though...even though what I just said is probably gonna keep you up..."

"Okay...I'll try."

Kakashi put his arms around Sasuke after lying down behind him and closed his eyes.

Kakashi was sitting outside in the training field; it was still dark out. There were stars as far as the eye could see looking in any direction. There wasn't a single sound to be heard. Had been training hard that day and had earned himself a day of tomorrow...or so his sensei - Minato Namikaze - had said. He knew that that day off wouldn't last long if the rest of his team couldn't get out of their 'slump'. He sighed. "Geez...you'd think that I could get ONE day to relax, but NO of course not...Rin and Obito haven't been doing so well, and on top of that Minato sensei asked me to help them train whenever they need my help...which is almost ALL the time..." He thought as he starred at the night sky.

The man was woken when he felt Sasuke shifting; trying to turn over and push basically everything away from him. He held the boy closer. "Shhh...shhh...Sasuke it's alright...I have you...wake up...Sasuke...you need to wake up." Kakashi said in attempt to wake the gennin.

Sasuke's eyes shot open as beads of sweat rolled down his face; his eyes had fear in their cores.

"And I thought I got rid of those...ugh...I guess I can't fix everything..." Kakashi thought as he smoothed the boy's raven locks.

Sasuke buried his face into Kakashi's chest.

"What did you see this time Sasuke?"

"Everyone I loved and cared for died at my feet..."

"Who did it?"

"A shadow...just a figure..."

"Who did it look like?"

"It looked kinda like Naruto, but Naruto was among the people who died..."

"Hm...that's sounds familiar...I just can't put my finger on it."

"There's actually a person who looks like Naruto?"

Kakashi thought for a moment. "The dream about Pain killing people...this could mean something...something bad..."

"Sensei?"

"Yeah?"

"Is there someone out there who looks like Naruto?"

"Yes."

Sasuke's eyes widened. "What's his name?"

"His name is Pain..."

"Pain?"

"He's a member of the Akatsuki...the leader actually..."

"He's the leader of the Akatsuki?"

"That's what I said."

"So he's looking for me?" He said slightly sitting up.

"He's the one who sends the other members after you and other Jinchuuriki."

Sasuke decided it was a good idea to lie back down with Kakashi. "He's going to kill anyone who gets in his way I assume?"

"You assume correctly."

"So do I do then?"

"First off: try to go back to sleep...if you can't then I'll tell you what to do next okay?"

"Okay." Sasuke said before shutting his eyes again. He got over the fact that the nightmare might come back; he had to go back to sleep if he wanted to continue training tomorrow.

Kakashi kissed the top of the gennin's head and went back to sleep as well.

The next morning was probably the brightest morning Kakashi had ever woken up to; the sun hitting his eyes. His eyes tightened before he opened them. He looked down to see that Sasuke was still sound asleep. "He looks so at peace when he's asleep...it makes me smile to see him like this..." Kakashi thought with a warm smile.

Sasuke felt the warmth of the sun hitting the back of his neck and head. It had sounded like he grunted from the muffled sound in Kakashi's chest, but it was really just a sigh.

"Good morning sleepy head." The man joked.

"Mn..." Sasuke grunted...still muffled from having his face in the man's chest.

Kakashi chuckled. "Still tired? Or is it just mornings?"

"It's just mornings...I slept just fine."

"Well that's good. You wanna know what day it is?"

The boy lifted his head slightly away from the man's bare chest. "What's today? I don't recall any special days this week at all."

"Today we complete your training with the lightning nature, and I'm also going to teach you a jutsu that only I was able to master, but it took me years so don't get discouraged if it doesn't work out well the first try okay?"

"Okay, but do we have any missions at all?"

"No...Team seven is taking a 'vacation' from missions as some would say."

"A vacation? Why?"

"Apparently Tsunade told the Hokage that you had gotten injured and she also told him you need recover time, but I don't see why that's necessary seen as how you're fully healed...not to mention you don't have any scares, extra cuts or bruises...no other injuries what-so-ever."

Sasuke sighed. "I'm going to go over there and explain that I'm fine." Sasuke said before going to get up.

Kakashi held Sasuke down from getting up. "Not today you're not."

"Why...oh...right...I kinda forgot for a sec." Sasuke said with a sheepish smile as he scratched the back of his head; his hair a mess...once again.

"Your hair is a mess..."Kakashi said leaning down so that he could see the boy's face; looking for the sapphire orbs.

"Yeah I know..."

Kakashi let go and got up. He walked over to his dresser and picked up the brush. He walked back and sat down on the bed. The man gestured for Sasuke to sit in front of him.

Sasuke moved over in front of the jounin and sat there as the man brushed his unruly hair.

"Your hair is a mess." Kakashi sighed.

"I know...it's your fault ya know."

"Why is my fault?"

"I sleep with my face in your chest...you finish the picture..."

"I don't INTEND to mess your hair up."

"Sure you don't" Sasuke joked.
