Life was good for James Tiberius Kirk. Youngest Captain of the Federation, 2 years into their 5 years mission. Most of the Admiralty had to change their mind about the young captain. After the whole "Narada and Nero fiasco", after the incident on Niburu and his demotion to Commander and First Officer of captain Pike and his restatment as captain to get Khan, they agreed to leave Kirk as captain of the flagship, the Enterprise. And they had to admit that the Enterprise had the lowest rate mortality on away missions (though balanced with higher rate of injuries sustained from the captain protecting his people), highest disclosure rate on diplomatic missions, the crew's moral was the best in the entire fleet, all of them very devoted to the captain. But what got them a very close heart attack, was the request on change status on captain Kirk and commander Spock marital status from unmarried to married. The Admiralty would have fought against it, but due to the destruction of Vulcan, not a single of them could be separated from their spouse (also due the marital bond, mind me). When they got the news, all of them were shocked, even more since, according the report from Nero's attack, Kirk and Spock were not friends. Not at all. But apparently it happened.

Not only the Admiralty was fuming about this marriage, but also the High Council of Vulcan, and in consequence Sarek and T'Pau, father and grandmother of Spock. Since the reduction of their race, Vulcans were in need to offsprings for repopulating. Though that due his hybrid heritage Spock was infertile, they could work with genetists to get children from him. They all had to change their couple got married on Vulcan 1 year in the mission, a very private cerimony with only the bridge crew, when they also discovered to be T'hi'la, brothers / lovers in soul, a fact extremely rare even before Surak reform, the most valued prize for a couple to reach. With this occurence, nobody could separate them. AT ALL.

Someone would say that Vulcans don't have emotions, but for Jim Kirk, it was the opposite. At least when they were alone. On the bridge, both were very professional, focused on the task assigned. But when they were in their shared quarters, Jim would see the loving side of Spock. Kisses, cuddling, embraces, sex, everything a person would want from his/her partner. Abetters in love, often making Doctor Leonard McCoy to grunt at them for their kisses stolen after a mission gone wrong ad leading Kirk in sickbay. And a VERY. VERY possessive and worried Vulcan. Though his mantra, every single time, would be "Vulcans do not get worried, doctor". And every person working in sickbay would say the contrary. They had witness first hand how the first officer could become when the captain landed injured or ill in sickbay. Ehi, they had Spock GROWL at them few times when the injuries where bad enough to leave Kirk unconscious too long (A.K.A. one hour). This one was no exception.
