Luigi ran through the Mushroom Forest as fast as he could, rain poured down from the sky in fat heavy drops, splattering down on the green plumbers hat and clothes as the roaring wind blew mushroom spores through the night air.

"No, no no no no..." "Why is he here?" "Why me?" "Why now?" Luigi thought to himself, listening for the sound of footsteps or shouting behind him. And who was chasing Luigi might you ask? Why none other than his own father, Italio Mario, a ruthless mobster and criminal.

Luigi yelped in pain as a searing pain shot through his right leg and Luigi crashed to the ground. Luigi struggled and tried to get up, but every time he tried to move pain overwhelmed him, when he turned his head to see what made him fall he realized his leg had got caught in a bear trap. A sinister chuckle behind him made the green plumbers heart skip a beat and Luigi was suddenly slammed to the ground by someone's foot, Luigi whimpered as a tall dark shadow was cast over him.

"Hello, my son." A deep, rugged voice with a thick Italian accident rang out, Luigi looked up at his father who was standing over him, holding Luigi still with his foot. Italio looked like Mario, but he was taller than Luigi and had a longer and more bushy mustache than either of his sons.

"P-papa...why are you doing this to me? "Please let me go..." Luigi begged, but Italio scowled and pressed his foot into his sons back more. "Let you go?!" "After you abandoned me, abandoned our family legacy?" "And for what, to become a stupid plumber and humiliate me?!" "Never!" Italio snapped before stepping to the side and Italio grabbing Luigi by the hair, making Luigi yelp with pain. "Ouch!" "Papa, let go!" "You're hurting me!" Luigi cried, but to no avail.

Italio rolled his eyes and reached into his pocket, he pulled out a combat knife and put it up to the side of Luigi's neck. "Listen here you little brat, you are going to do exactly what I say or else." Italio growled, Luigi was shaking both from cold and fear, looking around for some kind of help but he didn't see anyone in sight. "You are going to tell me how to get into the Mushroom Palace and you will also tell me where Mario is." Italio sneered, pressing the knife into the side of Luigi's throat a little bit more, starting to draw a small line of blood from Luigi's neck. "And if you don't do exactly what I say, I won't hesitate to-"

Italio was interrupted by a low, growling from behind him, both father and son looked up to see a massive shadow looming over them both, Italio dropping the combat knife in shock, Luigi barely had time to process what was going on before a massive green and yellow blur tackled his father away from him. Luigi turned to see...Bowser?! Yes, Bowser of all people or creatures in the Mushroom Kingdom had come to his aid. Bowser had pinned Italio to the ground, their faces separated by 2-3 inches, Italio was trying to force Bowser's fiery maw away from him but it wasn't doing him any good, Bowser grabbed Italio by the front of his shirt and let out a deafining roar in his face, small hints of flame coming out the side of his mouth. Italio tried to squirm out of Bowser's grip but Bowser raised up one of his massive clawed hands and scratched Italio across the right side of his face, Italio shrieked out in agony before finally being able to get out of Bowser's grip.

Italio slowly got to his feet, cupping his hand over the now bloody right side of his face, he glared daggers at the king of koopa's who had now moved to stand behind a bewildered Luigi. "I'll be back..." Italio hissed before running away into the night, Bowser waited a moment to make sure that Italio was gone before turning to Luigi. Luigi started to shake and whimper, what would Bowser do to him? Had he gotten rid of his father so he could have the pleasure of tormenting him all to himself?

Luigi squeezed his eyes shut and covered his face with his hands, the terrified plumber braced himself for pain but instead, Bowser gently took ahold of Luigi's arms and directed them away from Luigi's face and placed his arms on his lap. "You alright plumber?" Bowser asked, Luigi nodded, before wincing in pain, the shock of seeing his father and his arch-nemisis fight being replaced with the pain of his leg. Bowser went over the bear trap and took ahold of it, "Alright plumber, when I open this up on the count of three, pull your leg out." Bowser said, "Yeah, I can do that." Luigi mumbled, "Okay, one...two...three!" On three Bowser opened up the bear trap with all of his strength, Luigi pulled his leg out from the bear trap, collasping onto his back as new pain washed over him.

Luigi curled up in a fetal position, holding onto his now bleeding leg. "Oh shoot, how's your leg?" Bowser asked, starting to become concerned over the state of Luigi. "Agh... not good..." "I don't think my leg is broken but it still hurts a lot..." Luigi whimpered, tears started to prick at his eyes. Bowser walked over to the green plumber and picked him up in the bridal style, making Luigi very flustered and confused. "Wh-wha?!" "What are you doing?" Luigi asked, "I'm taking you to my Airship so I can patch up your leg." "I do this to injured soldiers who need to get carried out to danger all the time." Bowser replied flatly.

Luigi nodded, he never took Bowser for the type to care about his subordinates or anyone for that matter. Luigi wasn't sure if it was delusion or pain overwhelming his reasoning skills, but could Luigi start to feel fatigue take over him, the older Mario brother yawned softly and rested his head against Bowser's chest as his eyelids grew heavy. To Luigi's surprise, Bowser was...surprisingly comfortable. Luigi expected Bowser's body to be cold and rough, but Bowser was surprisingly comfortable despite the scales that covered Bowser's body and even a little warm, despite the cold rain pouring down. Bowser shifted the human around in his arms slightly, maybe he was uncomfortable as to how relaxed Luigi was in his arms? Luigi peered through the rain to see Bowser's massive airship illuminated in the dark and gloomy weather but he was quickly distracted by one of Bowser's massive scaly clawed hands going up above the green plumbers head of shield Luigi from the rain. Luigi yawned a final time, a little bit louder then before as he fell asleep in the arms of his enemy, unsure of what would be in store for him when he woke up again.
