Jayne excited the bathroom to the wonderful smell of Chicken stir-fry "mmm something smells good"

"Oh it's just something I picked up" he said, which wasn't exactly the truth. He had taken cooking lessons at a college in Colorado, neither he or Jill could cook when they got married so he took the imitative to learn.
As Chris plated up Jayne poured them some wine and they sat and ate and talked.
"So, where do we go from here?" Jayne asked
"Where ever you want, sweetheart, I'm not going anywhere"
Jayne blushed "Maybe I could move a few things in?"
"I'd like that. I might have to limit how many shoes you bring though"
"Oh! I don't have that many"
"Sure you don't Imelda!" he laughed

Over the next few hours they had decided Jayne would move her things in slowly and that after Dancing On Ice had wrapped they would look for a bigger place. Somewhere that both Jaynes and Chris children could come visit. They weren't even officially dating yet but here they were talking about moving in together. If it were anyone else it would be crazy, but this was them, they had already shared hotel rooms, changing rooms and even apartments before. This was nothing new to them, this is how it was meant to be.

Jaynes phone rang "Hello?... Hi Phil… .yes please" Jayne covered the mouth peace "I'm just going to say goodnight to the kids"

Chris nodded and started to clear up the table. Despite Jayne saying her marriage was practically over anyway he hated to thing he was the cause. As much as he wanted Jayne her happiness had always come first to him.

"Sorry about that" Jayne said reappearing a short time later
Chris wrapped his arms around her, Jaynes eyes here red from crying "It's okay, everything will be okay"
"I know it will, its just hard you know?"
"I know" he said and he really did. Jaynes children where just a few hours down the motorway, his where in a different country"
"Phil said he's already contacted a divorce lawyer"
"That was quick"
Jayne looked at him, there was something he wasn't saying
"Don't me mad at me okay?""okay"

Chris took a deep breath "When did you tell Phil it was over? Last night?"
Jayne nodded

"So in less than 24 hours he already found a good solicitor and started divorce proceedings? Ive been there Jayne things don't happen that fast"
"What are you saying Chris?"
"I'm saying it wouldn't surprise me if he had already looked into it"
"Phils not like that"
"Isn't he? Did you say you heard him on the phone with someone last night, then him denying it this morning?"
"He's not like that" she said again, not really trusting her own words. He wasn't like that, was he?
Jayne began to cry again "I'm sorry Jaynie I didn't mean to upset you, you know I hate to see you cry"

Jayne just hid her face in Chris chest and silently wept at what she already knew, what she had feared and what was still to come.

That night they held each other tight and slept a restless sleep until dawn.

Though it was wonderful waking up next to Chris and having him bring her breakfast in bed she really did miss her children. In just a few short days Dancing on Ice would be over and her and Chris would begin their new live together, well, once she was divorced of course. Divorce. That was a word she never thought she'd use. Up until recently she thought her and Phil where happy. Okay they may not talk as much as they used to, or make love as much as they used to, or go out on date nights as much as they used to, but they were happy, weren't they? Who was she kidding, she was miserable. It's not until your face with true happiness that you can see what is in front of you.

"Morning sunshine" Chris said handing her a cup of tea "we need to head to the studio soon. Just a couple of days left before the big finale"
"Cant I just stay in bed"
Chris climbed back in bed "I wish we could but we still need to put the polishing touches to our routine as well"
"I suppose we couldn't just wing it?"
"Well it's not like we've done Bolero once or twice before"
Jayne smiled "but I know you Mr Perfectionist, you want it to be perfect. Give me ten and I'll be ready"
Chris kissed her "I'll see you in 20" he said leaving Jayne to get ready.
