Gohan couldn't help but to smile as the nimbus landed on Capsule Corps front lawn. The young saiyan had barely stepped off the yellow cloud when a small green blur slammed into him, causing him to stumble and fall back onto the cloud.
"Hey Trunks" Gohan greeted with a large smile aimed directly at the much younger half saiyan that was currently hugging him.
"Hi Gohan" Trunks responded a massive smile on his face, as he quickly got up so that the older boy could stand up as well. The large smile didn't leave Gohan's face as Trunk's grabbed his hand and began dragging him towards Capsule Corps front door, excitedly telling the older saiyan everything that had been happening since they'd left Hogwarts.
It wasn't long before Gohan found himself back inside Capsule Corp, Trunks still holding his hand and telling him about all the new toys that the young half saiyan had gotten, while also trying to probe about what Gohan had gotten him for Christmas. Gohan's response had remained that Trunks would have to wait until Christmas morning to find out, which led the young boy to pout for a few seconds before he went back to talking about his other toys.
The two boys were just about to pass the entrance to the gravity room when with a slight hiss the door slid open, the prince of saiyan's quickly stepping out of the room, his onyx eyes easily finding the young saiyan. Gohan knew what the older saiyan was thinking about the instant that his eyes locked with Vegeta's, both saiyan's already anticipating there next spar.
Neither saiyan said anything until with a simply grunt Vegeta turned and began walking towards the kitchen. Trunk's didn't say anything as his head swiveled from his father's retreating back to Gohan's grinning face, the little boy was unsure of what had just happened but deciding that it wasn't as important as the stuff that he had been telling Gohan about, Trunk's started talking again.
Gohan couldn't help but to chuckle as he looked at Vegeta's retreating back, though the young saiyan still disliked fighting just to fight, he was beginning to understand why his father had liked it so much. This thought but back memories of his fight with Frieza and the guilt that he still felt over not only obliterating Frieza entirely, but also the fact that he had enjoyed it.
The rest of the day passed quickly for the preoccupied saiyan, and before Gohan knew it he had left Capsule Corp, promising to return the next day for the small Christmas party that Bulma was throwing, and started his journey back to the small home that he had once shared with his parents. He had decided to forgo using the nimbus cloud to get him there instead choosing to fly himself.
The young saiyan had spent much of the trip reflecting on his time at Hogwarts, primarily on the friends that he had made since he had first set foot in the magical school, at the same time the young warrior found his thoughts returning to the fact that somehow Sirius Black had managed to not only gain entry into the school but make it all the way to up the Gryffindor tower and then escape without Gohan ever realizing that he was there.
It wasn't until he flew through a thick cloud of black smoke that Gohan's attention was yanked back to the here and now. It wasn't hard for the young warrior to find the source of the smoke as his eyes were quick to land on the large apartment complex that was currently on fire. He could easily see the number of fire trucks that were attempting to put the blaze out, but Gohan could also see that the roof was going to collapse dropping the large number of people who hadn't been able to make it downstairs, to their death.
Gohan didn't even blink as a golden aura surrounded him, his eyes turning jade while his hair turned gold, before he shot towards the burning building his mind already working out what he'd need to do to save all those people. Working quickly Gohan grabbed at the large water tank on the roof before ripping the top off and carrying it towards the panicking civilians.
"I need everyone to get on" Gohan said as he gently lowered the large disk towards the ground being sure not to let it touch the crumbling ceiling lest it cause it to collapse. The young warrior couldn't help to smile gratefully as everyone was quick to make their way onto the water towers top, before with barely a grunt he began to float skywards, before slowly shifting sideway, and carefully carrying the disk towards the ground. It took less than a minute for Gohan to land beside a group of fire trucks easily depositing the large disk on the ground before he took off back towards the roof much to the shock of all those who had been watching.
Gohan knew that he had to figure out a way to put the fire out before anyone else got hurt, but he knew that if he used his ki to put it out the entire building would collapse, his mind was racing trying to figure out just how he was going to put the fire out, until his jade eyes landed on the now topless water tower, and he noticed the large amount of water stored within it. A smile split his face as he shot towards the tower before with a soft grunt he lifted the whole thing off the roof and carried it skywards so that he could begin pouring it on top of the building praying that it would be enough to put out the inferno.
He was so focused on what he was doing that he was completely unaware of the large number of reporters that were currently taking pictures of him, or the number of news reports that were going on about how the delivery boy from the Cell games had made another appearance after two years.
None of this mattered to Gohan though as all the young saiyan could see was the water pouring over the roof of the building, he couldn't help but to smile though as he saw the flames began to disappear. He was thrilled to know that his quickly thought out plan was working. it wasn't long before the fire had completely been put out, and after carefully placing the water tower back onto the roof, and making sure that it wasn't going to cause the roof to collapse, Gohan resumed his journey back towards his home.
The miles passed quickly and within a half hour Gohan could see the small dome shaped house that he called home, seeing his home so close caused the young warrior to unconsciously increase his speed, his body becoming nothing more than a blur, until ten feet from the front door when Gohan slammed his feet into the ground, his momentum carrying his body forward, while his feet left deep furrows in the ground. His body came to a stop mere inches from the front door and Gohan couldn't help but to cringe slightly remembering how much his mother hated it when his father or him would do that, usually bringing out the dreaded frying pan of doom to show how much she hated it. the young saiyan would give anything for his mother to throw the door open like she used to and come out waving that cursed frying pan, while he and his father sat on the ground chuckling.
But the door wasn't thrown open, and his mother wasn't going to come bursting out of the house swinging her frying pan. Instead Gohan entered a dark empty home, the memories of what he had lost firmly implanted at the forefront of his thoughts.
The young warrior moved quickly through his home, throwing the small capsule that held all of the Christmas presents that he had gotten for the others on the couch, Gohan quickly got to work wrapping them, hoping that that would take his mind off the painful thoughts of the family that he had lost.
The time passed quickly for the young warrior and sooner then he would have hoped Gohan found that he had finished wrapping all the presents, leaving the young saiyan alone with nothing but his thoughts. As with many nights it wasn't long before Gohan found himself standing in the main room, his onyx eyes looking at all the pictures that were placed along the mantle, slowly picking one up.
He couldn't help but to chuckle as he looked at the photo, it was a picture of him, his mother, and his father all with large smiles on their faces, though Goku and Chichi also had bits and pieces of cake splattered at random places upon their face. His chuckling faded though as his thoughts traveled back to fact that he was all alone now, all because he wanted to punish Cell instead of just destroying the bio-android when he had a chance.
"I'm so sorry mom, dad" Gohan whispered as he looked at the photo.
"Sorry for what Gohan?" a voice that Gohan hadn't heard for two years asked, causing the young saiyan to begin looking around.
"Dad," he asked still looking around hoping to see his father.
"Hey son" Goku responded
"Where are you" Gohan asked as he continued to look around.
"King Kais letting me talk to you telepathically, he told me that you got a job working at a school" Goku said, and Gohan could almost see the smile on his deceased fathers face.
So Gohan spent the next half hour telling his father all about his time at Hogwarts so far, and the friends that he had made. But when he got to talking about the Halloween dance Gohan's voice took a drastic shift that even his usually dense father noticed.
"Gohan what's wrong" Goku asked
"Dad during the Halloween party Frieza showed up, and I ended up killing him."Gohan stated looking towards the floor.
"I know Gohan, King Kai already told me about what happened with Frieza, it was his ego that got him killed" Goku assured hoping to cheer his son up.
"It's not that dad; I know that I had no choice but kill Frieza at the end, it just when I was fighting Frieza I was so much stronger than him, and I took pleasure in beating him like I did." Gohan stated as he looked to the ground.
"I know Gohan" Goku said causing the young saiyan to look skyward in shock. But before he could say anything his father continued. "after I turned into a super saiyan for the first time, and became stronger then Frieza I felt the same things as you did, all the pain he had caused others and all the people he had killed for no reason, but then I transformed and I could punish him for all of it, so I did and I enjoyed it."
Gohan couldn't help but to look up in surprise, after all his father was the gentlest man that he had ever known , and he had enjoyed beating Frieza the same as Gohan had, this fact took a lot of stress away from the boy.
"Gohan King Kai told me that you have taken up the role of protector of the earth, and I just want you to know how proud of you I am, and even though your mother might not say it she's proud of you to." Goku stated.
"Thanks dad" Gohan said unaware that tears had begun flowing from his eyes.
"King Kai says I gotta go Gohan, so merry Christmas my son." Goku finished.
"Bye dad" Gohan all but screamed as he looked towards the sky.
Feeling much better than he had for a few weeks now Gohan turned and began his journey to his room knowing that tomorrow would bring not only Bulma's small Christmas party but also his and Vegeta's rematch.
