[A/N] Hey! Look I'm back with a new chapter for the two year anniversary of this story. TWO YEARS, wow that's crazy to me. Thank you all for continuing to read and support this story. I do have to apologise, this chapter is a little shorter than normal but I simply didn't have time to write more, working in retail coming up to Christmas is an absolute killer. With that being said I also have to apologise for any stupid mistakes or sentences that just don't make sense, I edited all day on two hours of sleep but I promised a chapter today so I figured I'd push through and get one up.
Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and happy Friday for those who don't celebrate tomorrow. I hope wherever you are and whatever you're doing you have a wonderful day. Here's the next chapter.
"Hanna these cards are for a bachelorette party, not a baby shower... or a house warming, for that matter," Spencer spoke flicking through the deck of cards that Hanna had coyly placed on the table in front of them without saying a word.
"What? We've already played all the fun games already, we've done everything there is to do with guessing what sex the baby will be. Plus Emily and Paige can have a real housewarming whenever they feel like it, they do live here. Let's have some real fun, have a few more cocktails and let loose? It's been so long since we've had a proper girl's night. We don't even have to leave the confines of the apartment". Hanna stood up slurping a large mouthful of her margarita swishing her hips excitedly.
"...and what about me," Aria intervened, the day is supposed to be about her after all, "...I can't drink either".
"You don't have to, you will hopefully end up with enough blackmail material to have us babysit your child at some stage. Believe me, it's a good thing, you and Ezra won't have a lot of alone time after this little pumpkin seed is born if you know what I mean?" Aria blushed at Hanna's insinuation, shrugging it off after a moment knowing she could have just as much fun without the alcohol.
"So, I guess I'll go first then?" Hanna grabbed a cushion plopping herself back onto the floor, a satisfied grin on her lips once she knew she had convinced the group. The card she pulled was a dare, she had to choose a friend to do a shot with. Hanna immediately pointing to Emily, together they downed a mouthful of cinnamon flavoured whiskey each.
Spencer was next her card a dare too, the card stating for her to dance and sing to a Madonna song for the group, which she did with great Hasting's determination. It was still fundamentally in her blood to complete any given task or challenge, stupid or not, to the best of her ability, which she did to great success even using two red solo cups to mimic Madonna's famous bra as per Hanna's request. Aria would most certainly get some good blackmail material there, photographic evidence was got too, as she began enjoying the addition of alcohol that bit more.
It was Aria's turn next, she had got dared to finish her drink. Since she wasn't drinking and it was technically her day or celebration, the dare was passed onto Emily, Spencer and Hanna who raced each other as they finished they chosen beverages, Paige decided early on in the night that she would be sticking to drinking lightly, and watched on as the other drank merrily.
Paige went next, her card the first 'truth' card to be pulled, simply stating, 'first time?'
She blushed a light shade of red, Emily immediately looking at her with a shy smile reaching forward to graze a hand across her knee before settling comfortably there. She wasn't exactly embarrassed about it, it was more so the way it brought back a sense of teenage insecurity. The other girls who were all still distracted in conversation had missed the two's subtle yet sweet moment.
"So come on Paige, your first time. Who was is it? How was it?" Spencer questioned, not usually so brazen in her questioning but the amount alcohol consumed in the last twenty minutes alone helped to fuel her on. Paige's eyes skimmed to Emily once more, she just presumed the others knew it was with Emily, but obviously, that was not the case. Emily shrugged, a conversation spoken between her and Paige's eyes, it was another insignificant moment but Paige's heart warmed knowing Emily didn't feel the need to brag to her friends that she had taken Paige's virginity.
"Was it with a girl?" Hanna asked impatiently waiting on Paige to open up.
"It was a girl," Paige replied candidly, with a shrug of her shoulders.
"Do we know her? Did she go to Rosewood or was it some hot chick at one of those swim camps you disappeared off to every summer?" Paige's eyes fell to Emily once again trying to gauge if the other girl felt comfortable with the growing conversation only to find Emily's eyes doing the exact same thing for her. She nodded her encouragement if Paige wanted to tell their story.
"It was with Emily." She spoke, quickly followed by a round of "aww's" furthering the scarlet blush on her cheeks. "I honestly thought you guys already knew".
"Emily's not really the type of person to scream whose virginity she took, from the rooftop," Hanna added nudging her best friend. "She's a real gentlewoman when it comes to who she sleeps with".
"Wow! Thanks, Han." Emily elbowed her back through a bout of laughter.
"Is it not the truth?" Hanna scoffed playfully, glancing knowingly between the two girls.
"I know Emily would never brag, but you guys tell each other absolutely everything. I just figured she'd mention it too." Paige shrugged with a smile.
"I guess we had our suspicions, but it never really came up. Emily briefly mentioned that you two had had sex." Hanna began.
"More like Hanna called Em out because she was beaming from ear to ear, the poor girl never stood a chance when she couldn't stop smiling. There was also that not so subtle mark on her neck," Spencer added chuckling lively. Emily laughing to herself at the memory burying her face into Paige's shoulder.
"Plus we knew you were with Shana for awhile too back in high school, it could have been with her... or honestly anyone for that matter," Aria spoke up, adding her piece to the conversation.
"I bet with Emily it was so better than mine," Spencer shuddered at the memory, causing the other girls to laugh. She had lost her virginity during summer break, she was seeing a guy where her grandparents lived and things went from there. "We were young and it just wasn't the right time. We were in an old rickety and damp beach house, in theory, it was romantic, but we both had to leave straight after and it was just very umm, uneventful," She added shaking her head trying to rid herself of the memory. Paige looked to Emily once more, reaching out to grasp a hold of her hand, Emily taking it with ease before raising their joined fingers to her lips placing a kiss on the back of Paige's hand before letting them fall back into her lap.
"Honestly, it wasn't perfect. It was a little uncomfortable just like it is for most people the first time, it was awkward at times a little nerve-wracking. But Em was kind and reassuring and made me feel safe, so what else can you ask for really? We were staying in my aunt's cabin just outside Rosewood for a weekend, so we just stayed there for hours on end, afterwards lying in bed, talking and laughing and holding one another. The act itself for our first time wasn't great, but the connection and sense of security that came afterwards was incredible, and that's what made the whole thing special," Paige smiled lovingly, leaning over to kiss her girlfriend.
"I bet the second time was much better. I mean I've heard you two try to keep quiet, you're not very good," Hanna spoke without much thought, but her adoring smile gave away how truly happy she was for the couple. Although her increasingly boisterous and giddy behaviour immediately signalled she was pretty wound up and merry thanks to the numerous cocktails she was consuming.
"Han, how many times did we have to hear about the perfect night you and Caleb spent in the tent, let the two enjoy the memory without embarrassing them further," Aria teased nudging the blonde, who carefully elbowed her back with a wink.
"Second time was a lot better. A hell of a lot better." Paige couldn't help herself raising her eyebrows suggestively, the group instantly erupting into laughter. Emily turned red this time, collapsing forward covering her face.
"Your go, Em." Paige nudged, handing the girl the deck of cards.
Morning after story?
"Oh man, okay I have one... I think. I guess I'll tell one of my stories with Paige since we're basically revelling everything at the moment." Emily leaned into Paige beside her, again.
"Wait what story?" Paige turned suddenly perplexed, Emily sat up briefly whispering in the girl's ear explaining the story before earning approval.
"Well can she tell us, Paige?" Aria asked excitedly, she was enjoying this more than she thought she would.
"Yeah, it not technically a morning after... but, it'll make sense," Paige laughed reminiscing of the memory.
"Well it was back in highshool, senior year to be exact, back when Paige and I were properly together. We had slept together at this point too, I mean we were dating a while so sex had just become a regular part of our relationship at this point. But on this night we hadn't actually slept together, I stayed over at Paige's I was supposed to leave before midnight but we fell asleep and being honest I just really didn't want to leave. I texted my Mom telling her where I was, she was a lot more relaxed about me staying there than Paige's parents were about sleepovers, I mean probably because I hadn't really met them properly yet, just the odd hello when we crossed paths. Anyway, that morning I was leaving, I think I was meeting you Han, and Paige let me borrow some of her clothes so I didn't have to go home. So by all mean you could come to the conclusion that we had slept together. It was still early when I got up, we both thought Paige's parents were still in bed so we snuck down the stairs kissed goodbye only to be interrupted by her father walking in the front door with the newspaper tucked under his arm. His eyes went wide and the colour drained from his face, I was so sure he was going to faint".
"This doesn't sound good?" Spencer interrupted, all eyes glued to Emily as she continued telling her story.
"Paige turned into a stuttering mess, apologising profusely, even done we did nothing wrong. I just hung my head. Her dad said nothing, he simply walked passed us and into the kitchen, the newspaper was held that little bit tighter in his grasp after our encounter, though saying that. A second later Paige's mother called out for breakfast. So we sat in silence for what seemed like a century, before Anne decided it was time to confront the elephant in the room. She went on a full blown speech about being safe, having enough maturity for such a big jump in our relationship and how to respect one another. All the while Nick and Paige remained silent, the pair a like a mirrored reflection of the other, staring bashfully and red-faced into their breakfast.
Eventually Paige was brave enough to answer her mother's questions about being safe, and taking our time and eventually told them nothing had happened, but it has happened before. Finishing up by saying she'd never do anything to disrespect her parents or their home. This seemed to encourage Nick to enter the conversation.
"Oh god," Paige squirmed overwhelmed with awkwardness as the memory replayed in her mind.
"What did he say?" Aria was dying to know more.
"He said he can't prevent us from having sex, he just wanted to make sure that I... well umm..." Paige stuttered, the embarrassment overwhelming. "Well that I made sure to look after Emily, and make sure she was... well, left contented," Paige spoke shyly, her face growing almost impossibly red.
"Oh, so your Dad wanted to make sure you looked after Emily's needs and did a good job. It doesn't matter that you're having sex, just make sure you're good at it, kind of thing?" Hanna laughed out loud, rolling backwards.
"Yep, pretty much. Nothing comes before a McCullers' competitiveness"
"Apparently, Emily should, though," Hanna couldn't help herself. I was too shocked to tell him that making sure the other person is catered for first doesn't really matter in a lesbian relationship." Paige nodded, collapsing with embarrassment into Emily's arms, their bodies vibrating with laughter.
"Whatever, Han,"Paige rolled her eyes Emily in a ball of laughter beside her, "So, I was too shocked to tell him that making sure the other person is catered for first doesn't really matter in a lesbian relationship," Paige nodded, collapsing with embarrassment into Emily's arms, their bodies vibrating with laughter.
"You know, I'm pretty sure my dad had a similar conversation with Toby after he finally decided he liked him. Endowing him with some of that Hasting's spirit and need to succeed at everything." Spencer chuckled, nodding in understanding.
"How did your embarrassing story somehow turn out to be so fuckin' embarrassing for me, huh?" Paige looked to Emily with a toothy grin glowing on her scarlet coloured face, poking a finger into the girl's stomach.
"It's one of the best stories ever, Pay. I don't think I could look your dad in the eye for the next six months, it certainly stopped us even thinking about having sex in your house, I think that was his plan all along," Emily giggled bashfully, kissing the girl's temple.
The group continued the game well into the early hours of the morning, with nearly every kind of alcoholic concoction Paige and Emily had bought in for the night being drunk, leaving Emily, Hanna and Spencer in a very happy and cheery mood. The conversation growing more mischievous, teasing and raucous, mixed full of laughter and obscenities. The girls took to dancing and singing, taking photos near non-stop. Paige and Aria remained that little more reserved but they enjoyed the atmosphere none the less.
Paige stood up from the table to grab another beer, it would only be her third drink of the night, she was enjoying seeing Emily sit back and relax and just enjoy the night with her friends. They had been through so much the last few weeks she found comfort in seeing her girlfriend forget all the tension they went through recently, for one night. It didn't take long for the woman who was holding her current thoughts captive, to follow her into the kitchen away from the group.
"Paige..." Her voice carried out in a long slurred drawl as she sauntered towards Paige, a knowing smirk growing on Paige's lips as soon as she heard a specific rasp, a sound she has come to know incredibly well, lingering on the girl's tone.
"Yes, Em?" She turned, waiting for the raven-haired girl to continue, a knowing grin already upturning the corner of her lips.
"Did I tell you just how beautiful you look tonight?" Her finger tugging at the bottom of the other girl's shirt. "You were like a superhero when you caught me earlier. I thought we were done with that superhero crap?" Her eyes shining under the overhead lighting, glazed over by the alcohol. "But it was also super-hot, so you get away with it this time," Emily leaned forward, the smell of alcohol on her breath tickling the end of Paige's nose with it's burning scent. "What would I do without you? When did I get so lucky?" She rambled on, her fingers still tangling within the loose fabric as she began to play with the buttons.
"Em, you're drunk," Paige spoke matter of fact, the smug grin only growing on her features.
"Hey! No I'm not," Emily pouted, looking offended by her girlfriend's observations. "I come over here to give my girlfriend compliments and kisses and you, you attack me?".
"I'm not attacking, Em, my love. Simply stating the obvious," Paige placed her hands on her girlfriend's waist pulling her a little closer and offering her a little support afraid the taller girl would fall over from all the swaying. "You are drunk. But at the same time, it's kinda adorable."
"I am a *hic* dora *hic* ble (adorable)," A hiccup interrupting her speech, and forcing her to stumble backwards slightly, only to be steadied by Paige's grasp, "okay and maybe a little drunk". She held up her index finger and thumb signalling a small gap between the two digits, giggling like a young girl, her cheek reddening with merriment.
"Come here," Paige laughed too, loving every second of Emily's drunken adorableness, wrapping her arms around her girl when she leaned forward into her hold, her laughter only growing more intense every time Emily's entire being shook with another hiccup. It didn't take long for Emily's fingers to go exploring again, as they snook under the hem of Paige's shirt drawing trails across the girl's abs making them contract and twitch under her ticklish touch.
"Em..." Paige's voice drawled out, warning her girlfriend to stop. But the raven haired girl continued her mischief, leaning her body into Paige's further, one hand slipping to drop around Paige's waist, slipping passed the fabric of her jeans and cupping her ass. "Emily, you're too drunk for me to do anything in return."
"Yeah, Paige, whatever... maybe drunk in love," Paige snorted out loud at such an awful line, Emily stood back looking offended.
"I'm sorry, Em. If I ever said anything like that, I'm pretty sure you would laugh in my face." Paige replied, pulling Emily back into, her face now contorted into a pout. "Usually, you get a little feisty when you're drunk, I think I like this new adorable Em even more so".
"I can be feisty, if that's what you like, babe?" She whispered in a rasp, squinting her eyes offering a challenge to Paige's darkened swirls of brown. Her hands eager to roam once more, as she kissed up along Paige's neck this time her determination evident when Paige felt the girl's teeth sink into the soft sleek of skin there.
"Jeez Em, keep it in your pants for another little while. Caleb's on his way, you two can do it all night long then," Hanna added with a cheeky wink, rendering the pair red-faced and slightly embarrassed.
"But Han, have you seen my girlfriend?" Emily whined, wrapping her arms around Paige dragging her out from behind the kitchen counter now in full view of the whole group. "She's fuckin' hot," Paige's face burned bright red, now dying of embarrassment, but Emily still had other things on her mind as began tugging at her shirt "Look at those abs." Emily pointed with excitement.
Together they walked back over to the group, Emily choosing to sit on Paige's lap still seeking closeness to her girlfriend, thankfully she had just enough common sense to do it carefully. The rest of the girls were still chatting, Hanna had mentioned Caleb was on his way to pick them up and drop them back to their house where Aria and Spencer were staying for the night given Paige and Emily's loft having only one bed and a couch.
"Tired?" Paige hummed feeling Emily curl further into her, a soft yawn that sounded more like a growl than anything seeping from her lips.
"A little, I feel kinda dizzy more so," Her voice sounded like a child unsure of their words. "The room is spinning, Paige. Make it stop spinning?" Now feeling a slight anger, clamping her eyes shut willing her alcohol fuelled mind to regain some bit of control.
"Alcohol does that, love. I can't make the room stop spinning, but I can get you some water?" She nudged.
"No! Don't leave me," Emily squeezed her tighter, tucking her face under the brunette's chin.
"Okay if we have to be subjected to you two... how 'bout spreading the love 'round?" Hanna interrupted the closeness between the two girls.
"No! Paige is mine..." Emily voice close to whimper as she shot the blonde a glare.
"Sorry Han." Paige laughed, holding her hands up defensively as Emily's hold grew almost impossibly tighter, her fingers knitting possessively into the loose fabric of her shirt.
"I love my friends so much, but I can't wait for them to leave, then it'll be just me and you again." She tried to wink sexily but failed miserably, it just looked like she got something in her eye.
"Yeah, I think it's time someone went to bed," Paige kissed the girl's cheek, after another yawn came through the hiccups.
"Or we can go to bed... finish what we started earlier?" Paige words cut off by Emily as she did that awful wink once again.
"The only thing happening in our bed tonight is sleep, my love. You need to sleep off those cocktails". Paige words evoking a sad pout from Emily.
"But your ribs are all better, Pay." Emily whispered as sensually as she could given her slightly intoxicated state, her hands sneaking under Paige shirt, Paige appeased her with a peck before joining their hands so Emily didn't get any more handsy than she was already, Paige knowing even her will power of saying no to sex was weakened after a month, especially with how heated things got earlier.
"I'm sorry, babe," Paige began throwing in the nickname Emily drunkenly bestowed on her moments ago. "We've gone almost a month with only intimate kisses and touches, I do not want my first time back in good health to be with my drunk girlfriend. I think we can both do better than that, huh? Plus if you forget any of it, it would really hurt my pride."
"Ughh I'm such an idiot sometimes. Stupid cocktails," Emily whined once more, placing a single kiss to underside of Paige's chin.
"An adorable idiot."
"I'm already making plans just so you know... and just cause I'm drunk I hope that still mean I get cuddles in bed," Emily smirked sneakily, Paige looked on confused.
"Well duh, I'm not a complete monster Em," Paige laughed.
"PAAA-AAIGE," Emily's voice echoed around their apartment, her tone heavy with grogginess.
"What?" Paige peered around the corner a moment later a glint in her eye. She knew immediately why the other girl was calling out for her with such intent. Those suspicions quickly answered the moment she spotted a pair of dull eyes and a head full of messy hair peek up from beneath the comforter.
"I'm dying," Emily whined, snuggling further into the blankets.
"Stop being so dramatic, Fields," Paige rolled her eyes, she had no sympathy when it came to hangovers yet she couldn't help but smile adoringly seeing the hangover ravage her suffering girlfriend. "Look I left you a glass of water. You already took the pain meds this morning after you decided to christen the toilet bowl in puke, have they not worked yet? Try nap some more," A frown growing on the raven haired girl's features when she received little to no sympathy from her girlfriend.
"P," Her voice a quiver, and somehow her dark eyes turned to a pair resembling those of a puppy dog, Paige's resolve unwavering.
"Emily, no. I finally get an email from work, with a new assignment. I'm in the zone, Em. Nap some more and I'll give you every ounce of my love as soon as this creative spell disappears," Paige shook her head trying to fight the urge to give into Emily's needs, it was often much easier said than done when your girlfriend was Emily Fields. "Ring one of your friends and let them deal with this hungover crisis. I'm sure Hanna or Spence would be all over this, I bet they're just as hungover as you, poor Aria is probably gone deaf listening to them at this stage," She added, the draw of work enough for her to hold her own.
"Paige McCullers you're breaking my hungover heart, I need every ounce of your love right now... ugh I hate alcohol. I hate the person who invented alcohol. I hate the world right now, because I'm pretty sure the world hates me," Emily sighed dramatically once more, weakly throwing her hands up in the air before turning her whole body over and letting her face be swallowed up into the pillow. The show of dramatics made Paige laugh, her resolve crumbling to pieces this time as she tottered over, crawling up onto the bed.
"Poor little Emmy," She teased as she squeezed the back of Emily's thighs through the blanket causing the other girl to screech loudly, her body jerking as she turned to prevent Paige from tickling her any further. "My poor little Emmy can't deal with her hangover." She continued her mocking, poking her index finger into the girl's stomach, causing her to squirm, wiggle and wriggle further unable to get free. The sound of laughter filling the room. "Hungover Emily Fields is just so needy." Paige continued.
"Paige... Stop... please." Emily shouted through bated breath every time she had a chance at speaking through the bouts of laughter her girlfriend was inflicting on her through tickles.
"Poor baby." Paige mocked as she continued torturing the girl's sides and abs. Until she felt a sharp pain rupture up along her still healing ribs. "Fuck... Em." Spoke out quietly on steely breath.
Emily immediately sat up her face now pale with worry, when she realised her knee had connected forcefully with Paige's weakened ribs leaving her girlfriend breathless, her world froze.
"Paige, I'm sorry... I'm so sorry, Paige" Emily rambled nervously, her hands shaking with fear.
"Shut-up and kiss me!" Paige spat out on a single breath, still unable to breath very well after being winded.
"You're hurt here let me..." Emily panicked, feeling physically sick after hurting her girlfriend, reaching forward trying to calm the brunette, encouraging her into a sitting position that would hopefully alleviate the pain. "This should help the pain."
"Just fucking kiss me, you idiot," Paige demanded. Emily's eyes searching hers before she did as she was told, pouring her worry and panic and turning it into passion and love as she kissed her girl hard. That kiss didn't last very long but it was quickly followed by a stream of more and more kisses, full of just as much passion and love. As time passed the embraces lasted longer as Paige's breathing slowed back to normal. With one last peck she rested her head on Emily's chest. "That helped the pain." She whispered.
"Paige, I'm so sorry I hurt you." Emily's eyes watered, momentarily thankful that Paige had her head tucked under her chin, and unable to see the welling of tears.
"Shhh Em, It's okay. It wasn't just your fault. I was the one tickling you." Paige continued with a soft chuckle, her fingers trailing up and down the darker skinned girl's forearm with ease and comfort. "Your kiss made up for it."
"You sure?"
"I promise, Em." She yawned, nuzzling her face into the blankets soaking in the scent she found there. "...and look you still get cuddles to help your hangover in the end. You're so warm underneath me, I don't want to move."
"Your cuddles make everything better." Emily smiled her hand roaming the length of Paige's back, slowly raising the girl's shirt so she could access her bare skin.
"You know I think that's possible the grossest thing you've ever said to me." Paige chuckled looking up to meet Emily's eyeline seeing the slightest hint of a blush as she placed a whisper of a kiss to the girl's chin.
"I'm fragile right now, I cannot be held accountable for anything I say whilst hungover or in a panic about hurting my girlfriend, love." She whispered in return.
"You can go back to work now if you want? You don't have to stay." Emily encouraged with a kiss to the top of the brunette's head.
"Like I said I'm comfy here now, a nap wouldn't do me any harm." She said her entire body on top of Emily's, as she had her head tucked into the crook beneath Emily's neck. Emily had her arm wrapped around Paige's back, the other free light flat on the bed as Paige continued her trail up and down softly against the skin.
"I agree, maybe the world doesn't hate me that much afterall."
"Gross." Paige snickered sleepily, laughing quietly before falling asleep.
[A/N] Thanks for reading and please review. I understand I promised a more M rated chapter but I simply didn't have time to write it out, it's coming (no pun intended) I promise. Work should slow down now for awhile, so hopefully I'll have some better chapters over the next few weeks. Saying that I particularly like hungover Emily & Paige, and all the cheesiness that goes with it, in this chapter. Thanks again for the continued support, it means so, so much.
Have a great day, and enjoy the celebrations (even if you're just celebrating the fact that it's Friday)
Until then and I'll see you all in the new year. -KTF
