I was terrified.
He was after me. And I knew in my heart that no one could stop him.
I couldn't hide forever. It was only a matter of time before He found me.
I was terrified.
Dirt and grime, metal and rust. The walls and floor were covered in it. The dull red metal over shadowed by green mist. The smell of chemicals invading my senses, burning my eyes and throat. We ran. I don't know who they are but they ran with me. Shouting. Trying to rally into some kind of formation, trying to come up with some kind of plan.
In there!
Someone shouted. Myself and a handful of others scrambled into a low hatch and I pulled the porthole shut and the cover of the round, grimy window just as I saw black boots round the corner. They yelled at me, begged for me to keep the shutter closed. I held on with all my might. I could hear screams, metal scraping on metal and foot steps getting louder. But as long as I kept the hatch closed, He couldn't find me.
The scene changed. We were back in the corridor. How many times had we done this? They were with me again and again we ran. Back into that small room with the grimy window and metal shutter. Again I slid the shutter into place but this time I hesitated. I could hear them screaming. Close it! Close it what are you doing?! They were trying to keep me safe. Was I important? Who were they? But I couldn't.
Temptation.
It was over coming my fear.
I slid the shutter half way as the screams were silenced once more. The sound of footsteps. I knew they were shouting at me to close the hatch. Why weren't they closing the hatch? But it was too late.
A white, pure light shone through the grime, then a face baring green glowing eyes peered at me. In that moment I was at once so frightened…
And so relieved. So overwhelmed.
Sephiroth had found me. I didn't want to run any more.
The shouts behind me dulled, faded into soft noise as a hand, now bare, reached through the hatch, inviting me to take hold. I felt my body vanish, my soul became brilliant golden energy as I grasped that hand.
Everything melted to brilliant white light. Sephiroth drew me into his body and embraced me, enveloped me. I could feel myself becoming one with him but I wasn't frightened any more. I felt safe. I felt like I belonged. As he kissed me I could hear his voice in my head;
You are me now, you don't need to be afraid any more…
Good afternoon. It has been over five years, hasn't it? Yet I am astonished that even now, people still read this little thing I started writing all that time ago. Much has changed in my life since then, indeed, everything has changed in my life since then. But I still hold a place in my heart for Final Fantasy VII. I am still fascinated by the antagonist the whole gaming world knows, loves or thinks is over rated. I still wonder what the story would have been like had a few things been different. And I still think of this story that I left unfinished. Right before the end of the first story was due to be completed.
So now I'm back. I have a new name & I have every intent on finishing this story now. Please, if you are reading this...if you decided to subscribe to this story hoping that maybe one day I would be back to finish it...Please, I ask for a little more patience. I have to remember where I wanted the story to go, how I wanted the characters to develop and how These changes would impact the FF7 story line. I have to make sure I know the time line inside out again and I have to make sure I get it right. This will take time. I will also be editing and re-writing my previous chapters as my writing & story telling skills have improved in five years.
So again, if you are reading this I thank you for your curiosity, loyalty & patience. I am back to finish what I started.

ps. I will be making a blog to accompany my fic this time as I know is a little lacking in the community side. I'll post a link to it soon. If you want to leave me any feedback in the mean time though, feel free to leave a review, thank you.
