A.N: I just want to take this chance to thank all my readers and reviewers who stuck with me through this fanfiction, I cannot express my gratitude enough. This was my first multi-chaptered story, and I appreciate all who read it. This is the epilogue of this story, but I am thinking of a one-shot sequel, so be on the look out for that, please.

Thank you again, and enjoy :)

Isabella Hartley was dreaming of the ocean again.

It wasn't out of the ordinary. She spent most of her time in the ocean anyway, it was only natural that it took up her nights as well.

But the strange things about these dreams was that she wasn't swimming alone. In her dreams, she's swimming through a beautiful reef, and a tan, brunette girl would suddenly pop up from behind the coral, smiling and waving at her. Or she'd be gliding through the water, a blonde girl with ice blue eyes by her side, pointing out various types of interesting fish. Sometimes, she's speeding through the water, swimming as fast as she can, racing against another blonde girl with a determined look in her eyes.

These dreams had started ever since her parents had announced that they would be moving back to Australia, the Gold Coast, specifically. The closer and closer they got to the moving date, the clearer and clearer the dreams became. The night before they finally left, she dreamed of an island, with a large volcano towering over it.

Mako Island… a quiet voice whispered, a voice so quiet Bella couldn't tell whether it was female or male, young or old.

She woke up immediately with a jolt, the smell of the ocean filling her nose and the sound of the waves in her ears.

The next morning, on the plane, Bella insisted on sitting on the window side, so she could try and see the island she had seen in her dream, but she couldn't see it,

It was only when she was walking through the Gold Coast Airport that she managed to get any kind of answer.

She walked into the bathroom, and quickly used the facilities while the bathroom was empty. Normally, Bella didn't prefer this, too risky what with her tail and all, but a twelve-hour flight from France with absolutely no tail space meant she couldn't wait to get to their new home.

But when she got out there, another girl, her age was standing at the sink, sniffing.

"Are you okay?" Bella asked quietly, walking up beside her.

The girl nodded, wiping her eyes. "Yeah, I'm sorry. My mom and I are moving today."

Bella sighed, and put her hand on the girl's shoulder. "I moved here today with my family. I understand how you feel."

She smiled, and held out her hand. "My name's Charlotte, what's yours?"

"Bella." She took Charlotte's hand, and the girl's eyebrows furrowed in confusion "What is it?"

Charlotte looked up. "I'm sorry, but I have to know something."

Before she could ask, Charlotte flicked her hand, and a jet of water shot from the sink and hit Bella's arm.

Bella stared in horror at the water on her skin. She reached as quickly as she could to the towel dispenser, but it didn't matter. Before she could do anything, she fell with a hard thump, her tail appearing in a flash.

The redheaded girl's eyes widened, and her mouth dropped a bit.

"Please don't scream," Bella whispered, looking frantically for anything to dry herself with. How could this happen? She was always so careful!

But Charlotte didn't scream, instead hopping over her Bella's tail and locking the bathroom door.

"You're a mermaid," Charlotte stated, strangely with almost no surprise in her voice.

"Yes, I am, please, you've got to help me-"

"Get dry?" Charlotte finished, nodding. "I can help you with that."

Bella raised her eyebrow in confusion as Charlotte extended her hand, palm up, like she was cupping the air. She started to ask what she was doing, when steam began to rise from her body as the water was evaporated.

"How are you doing this?" Bella exclaimed, but all she got in return was a sad smile.

In no time at all, she was dry and able to stand again. "How did you that?" she asked again. "Are... are you a mermaid, too?"

Charlotte bit her lip. "No, um, not anymore. It's a bit of a long story, and I need to get on my plane." She took Bella's hand again, and looked deep into her eyes. "But you aren't the only mermaid here. I think you know that."

Bella's dreams flashed in her mind. "Yeah, but where are they?"

"I can't tell you. Things just have to fall where they do. Trust me, these things don't work when you force them."

Bella nodded her understanding, and the two walked out of the bathroom.

"So, where are you going?" Bella asked conversationally.

"My mom got a job in Ireland," Charlotte replied. "Don't forget what I said!" she exclaimed before running off to her departure gate.

Bella ran her fingers through her long, blonde hair, and went back towards the baggage line where her parents were waiting, Charlotte's words repeating on a loop in her mind.

She wasn't alone, finally. Ever since she was nine years old, she was alone as a mermaid, not able to tell anyone. But there were other mermaids here, and that thought alone made her smile again, and feel less alone.

Bella only needed to find them.

The End
