"What the hell did you do?" Haymitch screamed once they reached their penn.
"I did what none of you could do. I showed the Capitol up." Darcy retorted, rubbing her sore cheek.
"What you did was a suicide sentence. District 12 is about to go up in flames because of you!" Haymitch cried.
Wires became tangled and the thoughts chased one another.
A scream echoed as Darcy fell onto the marble floor.
"She's still breathing, what should we do?" Effie asked.
"Get Cato and Johanna. We're all fucked now." he ordered.
"I don't see what the problem is. The Capitol got what they deserved." Johanna defended, giving Darcy an appraising look.
"You don't fight fire with water!" he responded.
"But we're not fighting against water, we're fighting against Snow." Cato added.
"Ever since Darcy won, I just wanted to keep her safe. It's like she's deliberately trying to kill herself." Haymitch downed his drink. "I can't put up with this."
Effie looked down, Haymitch needed a break.
"Go back to District 12, Haymitch. You need a rest, Cato, Finnick, Johanna, and I will take care of Darcy, you're not in the right state to help out and-" she started.
"Right state? I'm not in the right mind! And neither is Darcy. The only person Darcy needs is Jesus, and God forbid that ever happening. She's the human form of Satan." he explained.
Not another word was said until Haymitch locked his door shut.
"Effie you look pretty stressed yourself, Cato and I will take care of Darcy while you sleep." Johanna confirmed.
Effie didn't bother arguing, she was a mess.
Obliging to her orders, Effie left.
"We've never been so close to burning the Capitol to ashes, Cato. This is our chance!" Johanna grinned.
Before Cato could reply, an abrupt knock shattered the ever so short silence.
With clammy hands, Cato opened the door.
"May we speak to Darcy Taylor?"
