AAAAAAAAnyway...
HEYO PEOPLES! I figured I owed you all another chapter after such an extremely long hiatus...it's short, like the last one, but the next one won't take too long...This chapter is dedicated to TrixieWilliamson for being so awesome and reviewing on every chapter! XDD THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Did that just happen? I actually...spoke to a...I shudder and thunder into the next classroom I need to be in and he follows behind me.
I groan when he sits down in the seat next to me and he smirks at me.
"Idiot..." I grumble, under my breath.
But he hears me, "Care to elaborate on that, Kabra?"
I shoot him a glare and it must be effective because he backs away a bit and looks back at his desk.
I smile slightly, knowing that I've beat him and he turns back to me, "Do you want me to prove that I am not an idiot?" he smirks.
But I just glare at him again, "How are you going to do that? You can't prove something when it's impossible."
He grins mischieviously, "How good are you at math?"
I stare at him for a moment, my math grades have been pretty low this year…"Alright I guess..."
"Need any help?"
I glare at him again, why in the world would I need help from an idiot like him? "Why? Do I look like I need help in school?" I say angrily, my voice growing a little louder and stronger by the second, "I am top in my class in most cases I'll have you know and I don't need your help!" I look away from Dan's face and around the room and realize that every face is turned toward the two of us. I sit back in my seat and huff, crossing my arms and glaring at the desk. I risk a glance at Dan and he's smirking at me.
"Gotcha," he whispers over to me and I hold back the urge to scream.
Jake POV
I stare at Amy, open mouthed. Paid for the homeless shelters? She and her brother? What brother? She looks up from her desk, her face bright red, and spotts me looking at her then quickly puts her head back down and I continue to watch her until the teacher comes in to start the class.
But I can't focus...I can't keep my mind off the fact that, the shy girl I met in the hallway could pay for this school three times over and didn't want anyone to know...I wonder why…
The class ends and the bell rings, time for lunch. Amy quickly grabs her books and tries to shuffle out the door but I watch as Ian Kabra stops her on her way out. I can't hear anything but I know whatever's happening isn't a good thing. Amy's face is covered with hair, like she's hiding, and Ian tries to push it behind her ear even though he barely knows her. She pushes his hand away and he grabs her wrist. She won't look up at him, or at anything for that matter, so he takes her chin in his fingers and forces it up.
I stand up.
You don't do that...if someone is asking you to leave them alone you're supposed to listen. Even if they're snotty, rude, and evil, if they ask you to, it's usually a good idea.
I walk over to them and Ian turns his attention to me.
"Long time, no see, Jacob."
I glare at him. Nobody calls me Jacob...only my mother did...I hold back the urge to punch him in the jaw and bite back a wordy response.
"My name is not Jacob to you, and it hasn't been long enough Kabra...what are you doing?"
He smirks, putting his hand on Amy's shoulder and she shrugs it off, "Just talking to my friend Amy here, not that she would even care who you are but," he turns to Amy, "Amy, this is Jacob"
She looks up at him and, to my surprise, doesn't falter, "I know Jake, I talked to him in the hallway." She smiles at me a bit but I don't smile back, only continue to glare at Ian.
Ian looks at Amy, "Why would you have talked to such an underprivileged boy, who obviously doesn't even own a comb." He messes with my hair and I smack his hand off my head, hard.
Amy glares at Ian, but only for a second and it disappears and is replaced by a look of, almost fear, and she says, "Underprivileged huh? As I recall, I've been 'underprivileged' for about fourteen years of my life thank you very much..."
Ian looks surprised at this but he quickly covers it with a haughty smirk, "Yes but, you aren't anymore so it shouldn't matter." He puts his hand on her shoulder again and she shrugs it off, turning around to walk the other way. He takes a step towards her but I put my hand out and stop him.
"Dude, leave her alone, she obviously has had enough of your stupidity to last herself a lifetime"
He grabs my shirt and tried to hit me but I throw in a punch quick enough so he doesn't get the chance.
I may not have been trying to punch him but I sure as heck did…
His nose begins to bleed all over his expensive shirt and pants and I grab a tissue and hand it to him before walking out the door after Amy, who's leaning against the wall with her head down.
"Hey Amy," I say, walking up next to her.
She looks up at me, her face bright red, "H-Hi..." she replies timidly and I smile at her.
She smiles back slightly and looks down again.
"So," I say, "What was that about exactly?"
She looks back at me, "I'll uh...tell you later...I n-need to go make sure my brother's got this..." she holds up a paper bag that says 'Dan the Super-Ninja' on it and I smile slightly.
"The Super-Ninja? Seriously?" I ask and she laughs.
"He's a thirteen year old boy what do you expect?"
"Nothing more..." I grin and she smiles back at me then seems to think for a moment before saying, "D-do you mind going w-with me? I still don't...know my way ar-r-round..."
I smile a little wider, "Sure! I don't mind at all."
