Moulin Rouge
It was mid afternoon when she woke beside him. After a quick scolding she began to work diligently. Taking care of him had to take precedence.
He laughed and joked, though she hardly found it funny. She had work to do.
At one point he grabbed her hand just so she'd look at him. He smiled she glared.
"You can't stop me right now Peeta. I'm trying to get you better."
"You're doing just fine. Take a break."
"I just did. I slept, now I'll work." He kept her in his grasp, "Peeta,"
"Come here, let me kiss you again."
"Later alright?" She sighed trying to continue her work.
"Why?"
"I simply don't have time. Is that what you want me to say?"
"No, I want you to say you'll come and kiss me. Love is a wonderful thing."
"Well, it's a waste of my time right now."
"Love is a many splendored thing. Love lifts us up where we belong. All you need is love." He smiled.
"Please don't start again." She laughed.
"All you need is love."
"I have work Peeta."
"All you need is love."
"This is our survival here."
"All you need is love."
"Ugh!"
"All you need is love."
She took her hand away, "Love is just a game."
He sat up, "I was made for loving you baby. You were made for loving me."
"The only way of loving me baby is to pay a lovely fee." She held up her hand to humor him and the audience.
"Just one night. Just one night." He laughed.
"There's no way, cause I won't play."
"In the name of love. One night in the name of love."
She walked over to him showing her poweress over him, "You crazy fool, I won't give to you."
"Don't" He took her hand, "leave me this way. I can't survive without your sweet love. Oh baby don't leave me this way."
As his hand traced her face she found chills travel along her body, "You think that people would have had enough of silly love songs."
He pulled her closer, "I look around me and I see it isn't so, oh no."
She turned her face from his, "Some people wanna fill the world with silly love songs."
He turned her face back to his, "Well what's wrong with that? I'd like to know. Cause here I go again." She laughed as she sat beside him on the cave floor, "Love lifts us up where we belong. Where the eagles fly, on a mountain high."
She rolled her eyes, "Love makes us act like we are fools. Throw our lives away, for one happy day."
"We can be heroes. Just for one day." She sat up.
"You... You're being mean." She claimed trying to continue her work.
"No I'm not." He laughed grabbing her waist and pulling her back.
"And I... I've got work to be done."
"We should be lovers." He laughed.
"We can't do that." She claimed.
"We should be lovers, and that's a fact." She decided to indulge him if just for a moment.
She turned to face him, "Though nothing will keep us together."
"We can steal time."
With their foreheads touching they laughed in sync, "Just for one day. We can be heroes, forever and ever. We can be heroes, forever and ever. We can be heroes."
He brought her closer startling her so she was speechless, "Just because I, and I will always love you."
She retaliated, "I and I."
He joined her, "Can't help loving," She kissed him quickly.
With a bright smile he softly whispered, "You."
She couldn't help her own soft smile, "How wonderful life is,"
"Now you're in the world." He kissed her this time. And she let him until going back to tending his wounds.
