- The inspiration for this came from here -
"Tony, come on what are we doing..we're not even allowed to be up here" She told him on a hiss, looking around the hill as if someone was following them.
"Pep, come on. We're in the middle of nowhere, I didnt drive all the way out here for you to get a little itchy about doing something you aren't supposed to. Besides, I can outrun any ranger in this baby" He patted the hood of his Audi. Tony climbed up on the strong steel hood, not a flex or dent in it, "Come on" He said motioning her to come up with him as he laid against the windshield.
Pepper looked around and chewed on her nail, looking at him before moving around to the other side and climbing up with him, careful not to hit a hollow spot on his hood, scared she'd dent it.
"Pep, come on you're not gonna break it" He laughed and pulled her into his embrace. How this woman didnt even think to look at the sky at all, or even glance at it was beyond him.
"Why are we out here?" She asked a hint of annoyance on her breath. Having him surprise her once in a blue moon like this, she half expected him to have done something wrong and this was buttering her up.
Tony moved his arm under her and smiled with a sigh, "Look up" He said simply keeping his head turned towards her as his free arm rested behind his head.
Pepper tore her eyes from his and looked to the sky, her hand came up to her mouth in awe as she stared up at all of the stars that filled the sky. She's never seen so many in her life, the way that she could stare in one spot and the more of millions of stars appeared. No matter where she looked.
Tony smiled seeing her reaction as she gazed up at the billions of stars. With a proud smile he turned his head so he looked up at the sky with her too. "Oh, I have another surprise too" He said with a grin and pulled out his transparent iPod sized tablet from his pocket. Switching it on he held it up to the sky.
"What now? Summon the moon?" She asked with a gasp, trying to figure out what else this man had up his sleeves.
"No, I dont have that much power. But dont tell anyone, they still believe I can" he chuckled and a grid popped up on the glass screen. He moved it one way then another, trying to line something up before a smile slapped across his face, "There. Look" He said motioning her to move closer to look at the screen with him, "See that star right there?" He asked showing her where the grid lined up, it lined up with the brightest star there was in the sky.
"What's so special about it?" She asked him with an arched brow.
"It's yours..." He whispered, pulling out a tri-folded piece of paper he handed it over.
She looked over and unfolded the document and tears glistened in her eyes. This had to be the sweetest thing any man has done for her. "You..you bought me a star?" She asked tearfully as she smiled up at him.
"Only the brightest one in the sky" He smiled.
