Alice's POV

I woke up to the sound of snickering, which is never a good sign, especially nowadays since my family was still punishing me. As I made my way to the bathroom to get ready, it seemed as though I was the last one awake. I looked in the mirror and snorted, my hair was now a rainbow, and they had also teased my hair so that it looked like an afro. At least they didn't paint my whole body pink this time. After trying to get my hair to lay flat, I gave up and just styled it so it resembled the afro they were attempting instead of the sex hair they got.

We stood outside Steve's apartment waiting for him to come down and Phil to come and collect us. Amy was attached to me, soaking up my heat when Steve came down.

"Steve!" Amy cried happily and detached herself from me only to reattach herself to Steve.

"Uhhh… Hi" he said, hugging her back. When he let go of her, Amy hung on.

"Amy, you can let go now" Steve said slowly.

"She won't, she's cold so she usually attaches herself to anyone who she deems warm enough."

"Alice, I'm sorry, but you've been demoted. Steve, congratulations! You're my new personal space heater." Amy declared.

"FINALLY! I thought this day would never come!" I cried happily, doing a happy dance which caused my hat to fall off my head. It was also when Steve really saw my… colorful hair.

"Woah! What happened to your hair Alice?!" Steve asked, eyes wide.

"Honestly? I don't know, but I'm sure that one is involved." I said, pointing a finger at Amy.

"I did no such thing!"

"Oh yeah! I know for a fact that stores don't carry some of these dyes." I said pointing to my head.

"How do you know that?" Amy shot back defensively.

"Amy…. We were planning to dye Luis's hair blue and green remember?" I said slowly.

"You were going to do what?!" Luis protested.

"Nothing!" Amy and I said together.

"So… you gonna introduce us to Amy's personal new space heater." Jen asked, but she didn't wait for my response. "Hi, I'm Jen. I'm Amy's older sister. This is my boyfriend Luis. And finally this is Ryan and Johnny, Luis's younger brothers." Jen said, introducing everyone else.

"Hello, I'm Steve Rogers."

"Ohhhh…. So you're the 'Walking Flag' Alice mentioned." Ryan smirked. An awkward silence settled over us. But it didn't last long; Phil showed up. "Good, you're all here. Let's go." He said just as two small quinjets landed on the roofs across the street.

"We're about forty miles out sir." The poilet said. Phil nodded his head in acknowledgment. Only Phil, Steve, Amy and I were on this jet. The others had filled up one of their own.

"So this Dr. Banner tried to replicate the serum they used on me?" Steve asked, staring at the screen in his hands. Amy looked over his shoulder, watching the Hulk tear a car in half.

"A lot of people were; you were the worlds first superhero. Banner thought Gamma Radiation was the key to unlocking Erlestien's original formula."

"Didn't go his way, did it?"

Amy snorted at Steve's remark and said, "You can say that again." Phil ignored her.

"When he's not…that thing he's like a Steven Hawking." At Steve's confused expression, he elaborated. "He's like a uhhh… smart person."

"Steven Hawking is a really smart guy who is almost completely paralyzed through his whole body." I said.

Phil cleared his throat. "I got to say, it's an honor to meet you, officially. I sorta met you; I watched you while you were sleeping. I mean, I was present while you were unconscious; from the ice" Phil spluttered.

"I'd stop right there fan boy, before you dig you're grave any deeper" I laughed. Phil blushed.

"Yeah, seeing you fan girl over Steve … it's kinda creepy" Amy added.

"Kinda? It is creepy!" I shot back. Amy nodded her head shrugging her shoulders.

Phil ignored us and tried again. "You know, it's really a huge honor to have you on board. It's…"

"Well, I hope I'm the man for the job" Steve muttered, standing up to join Phil at the front of the jet.

"Oh, you are, absolutely."

Amy made a gagging motion to me and I laughed. "Nothing" I replied when they turned to look at me.

"Ah, we've made some modifications to the uniform. I had a little design input."

"The uniform? Isn't the stars and stripes… a little old fashioned?"

"All that's happening, everything that's about to come to light, people might need a little old fashion" Phil said seriously.

"And they will need a leader" Amy added, just as serious. Steve had a thoughtful expression on his face as the jet landed. The door opened and we walked on deck.

"Agent Romanoff, Captain Rodgers," Phil said, introducing Natasha to Steve, "and this is Evolution's sister Amy," he added.

"Ma'am" Steve said politely.

"Hi. We need you on the bridge, we're starting the change phase," she told Phil.

Once he started walking away, Natasha turned to me. "Why do you have a multicolored afro? Do I even want to know?" she added after a pause.

"Everyone is still punishing me. Though I think the hair is about not telling them about being a S.H.I.E.L.D agent or something, I'm not sure anymore," I shrugged.

Natasha blinked then changed subjects, accepting the story. "There's quite a buzz around here, finding you in the ice. Thought Coulson was going to swoon," Natasha told Steve, leading the way.

"Are you sure he didn't already do that?" I joked.

"How bad was it?" Natasha asked, guessing what happened on the flight over.

"Out of ten? At least a seven," Amy said.

"Did he ask you to sign his Captain America Trading cards?" Natasha asked Steve, curious.

"Trading cards?" Steve asked, confused.

"They're vintage. He's very proud," Natasha said smoothly.

Then Steve saw Bruce. "Dr. Banner," he called out to him.

Bruce looked up and saw us, nervously glancing around. "Oh yea, hi. They told me you would be coming," he said, shaking Steve's hand.

"What am I? Chopped liver?" I asked, punching him in the arm.

"Alice? What are you doing here?" Bruce asked, surprise in his voice as he hugged me.

"I work for S.H.I.E.L.D apparently," I answered simply.

"So S.H.I.E.L.D sent you to keep an eye on me? Is that how they knew where I was?"

"NO. They don't even know I ever met you… at least.. not until now," I replied as I glanced at Natasha, who hadn't stopped glaring at me since I greeted Bruce with the arm punch. Busted.

"I was in South America for personal reasons," I finished, calming Bruce down a bit.
