Chapter 2
The Start of Friendship
The Next Day What had happened to him yesterday? One minute he was staring down a giant bird and the next his own heart had been taken by the young maiden. Oh how he could still remember every feature of that magnificent body of hers, those slender legs, that hourglass frame, and that unbelievably cute fade. Wait what was he thinking? He was a lizard man, his kind didn't fall in love they took them through brute force. Why was it different for him though? Was it because she wasn't one of his kind or maybe she had entranced him in some way. No, if that was the case the effects would have still been present.
"Yo, you still awake? Hey, snap out of it." he heard Ryo say as he snapped his fingers in front of his face.
"Oh sorry." he relied as they both carried the books down to the library.
"Man I tell you Malon has had you sprung ever since yesterday."
"What? No that's not what it is." he replied as he felt his cheeks light up a bit.
"Oh yeah? Then why was it that yesterday that you froze up when you saw her? There's no denying it my brother you've been smitten."
"Me smitten? Hah like a lizard man can be smitten by such a monster!"
"Smitten with a capital S. You're heart has been taken by the fair maiden and thus you fall to her feet in spirit."
"Dude you really need to stop reading those plays. Anyways what about you and Minami? It's obvious you have a thing for her so why don't you tell her? Are you...chicken?"
"Hey! It's not that easy. I tried once but my phone decided to piss all over me and shut off before I could even send the message. Plus do you have any idea how hard it is to tell your best friend that you like them like that? It's like standing in front of a entire stadium of people while at the same time trying to give a speech in nothing but your boxers."
"So what you're saying is you're a wimp."
"No it's timing. I'll tell you one day and hopefully it doesn't end with half by face being blown off." he grunted as he tried to keep the books steady.
It wasn't until he thought about it that the subject came to mind. The next day was parents day but the question was would they show up to check up on him? While they were caring towards him and encouraged him when he was down they never really showed any interest in coming to the school. Whatever, if they did show up then he would have to deal with it one way or another.
"Hey have you ever had that feeling that someone has been following you for the longest time?" asked Ryo.
"Yeah, but where are they?"
Ever since they left the classroom to return their instructors books to the library they had been both having the feeling that they were being followed. Using his enhanced vision Ryo searched for a physical electrical current that ran through any living thing but other than his friend's he could find a another one. They were so close to the library though, only a few more steps and they would be there, but as luck would have it their path was blocked by two individuals.
"Ryo Keno!" the boy said.
"Gino Katsuragi!" followed the girl as they both pointed towards them.
Who were they and why were they blocking their path? It was kind of annoying, after all they had some books to return for their teacher and they were getting in their way.
"Sup?" Ryo as as he raised a brow as they two students.
"We're Danni and Suki Fulli and we challenge you both to a duel!"
Alright they had to have had a few bolts loose if they thought they were going to fight on the second story of the main educational facility. Though their eyes told a different story, one of determination, passion, and desire, all of which they did not care about. Instead of replying they simply walked around them as if they didn't even exist.
"Hey didn't you hear us?! We challenge you!" yelled Suki as they both turned in their direction.
"Oh we heard ya, you want to d-d-d-duel. So pull out your decks and we will." replied Gino as they both laughed while they entered the library.
"Oh yeah that joke hasn't gotten old has it?" Ryo asked sarcastically.
Whoever those two were they were going to have to wait, five extra points were on the line if they managed to bring his books back to the library. The day was nearly close to being done and after Saiko's regular physical tests that almost tore apart their muscles they just wanted to get everything done and over with so they could relax. The library was fairly big with two stories that each contained different subjects whether they were Human History,Arithmetic, or the fine arts, it was all there for them to use whenever they needed to.
"Alright well you ring check them in and I'll be right back." said Ryo as he dashed over to a certain section of the library.
"Hmph alright I can do that. There's nothing the Katsuragi's can't do!"
"That's anything but keep quiet in the library." said the girl from behind the counter.
"Oh sorry miss I just caught up with myself whoa."
That long brown hair, those soft brown eyes, and that figure, he couldn't forget such a sight.
"Wow she's even cuter with the glasses." he thought to himself as a wide smile spread across his face.
"So...did you need to me ring these books up for you?" she asked as she grabbed the scannner.
Oh he had gotten caught up in his own thoughts that instead of listen to her he had drowned out whatever she said. Alright if he was going to succeed he couldn't come off as a weirdo or a creeper, it was time to play it smooth while also being calm and collected no matter how much his heart was racing.
"Yeah, sorry about that. I guess I kind of spaced out." he admitted.
"Hm, that happens to us all." she replied as a small smile began to appear.
"So, do you remember me? From yesterday? The giant bird that took my friend but he cooked it?"
"Your face doesn't ring any bells. Oh wait you were the guy wearing the white tank top with "I'm A Beast" written across the front right?" she replied with a little giggle at the end.
"Y-Yeah that was me and by the way the name is Gino. Strongest member of the Fight Club and..."
"Baldest head in the academy?" she teased as she scanned the last book.
"Yeah come on it's not that bald." he said as he rubbed the top of his dome.
"Just kidding, but yeah you really do stand out among the others. You're so much taller and bigger than your teammates."
For a second there he thought he saw her drooling but it had to be his imagination right? Looking back at her though it had stopped.
"Yeah what about your bird though? Aren't you afraid it will abduct someone else?"
"Oh don't worry he's quite harmless. It's just during the day without me around to play with he tends to get a little bored and so he finds others to play with him. Sorry about that though I didn't mean for him to take your friend."
"Oh no it's alright, it was just an accident right?" he asked as his eyes moved down towards her chest.
Oh yeah, he could feel the blood about to burst from his nostrils as he watched those mounds bounce up and down in her uniform and with the top buttons undone it got only better. She truly was the picture of beauty.
"Yo Gino I found something for ya. Check it." Ryo as he as handed him a book.
"The Best Ways to Love? Where did you find this?"
"You remember how my dad didn't know how to keep out of my business during the trip? Well he suggested this book to me. I haven't read it but the title sounds safe enough."
"The Best Ways to Love? Really man, that doesn't sound strange?"
"Oh what's the harm of opening it?"
If only he had found another book but instead he found one that sounded like an instruction booklet to being a pervert. Oh well the sooner he opened it the sooner they could return to class. With a deep breathe he reached for the center of the book as Malon leaned over the counter to see as he pulled it right open.
"W-What is this?" he asked as his hands began to tremble.
"How does someone bend like that?!" exclaimed Ryo as his own nose began to bleed out.
Suddenly the library echoed with the screams of the three students. Never again would he grab a book his own dad suggested!
