Chapter 4

An Unexpected Fight...Kind Of

So it had begun, the one class that everyone feared and those who entered weren't only tortured but scared. Ruled over by one man who's wings could touch the sky and who's dominance over his subject knew no bounds. His cruelness knew no bounds as everyone geared up for their special parents day event, an event that sent chills down their spines. As they each grabbed a helmet from the box they were each given their own weapon, a solid piece of metal that created thunder when struck. The battle must have went on for forty minutes and time was running out, they already had two men on base and the score was tied twenty three to twenty three.

As both stood on base their hard pitcher Minami stood at the ready as the next batter approached the plate with his bat firmly grabbed within his hands as he prepared to hit it out of the park. She could tell just by looking at him that he wasn't going to hold anything back so to take him out she was going to have to unleash her full strength.

"Kawkaw..." she heard come from behind her just before she began winding up.

Oh she knew who it was and of course she wanted to beam him in the stomach with the baseball but that would have been unsportsmanlike, but boy was it tempting especially when his fellow teammate began responding.

"Kawkaw kaw!" the other boy responded.

They had been doing that for the entire game and they had yet to stop. With a sudden turn she raised her hand that held the ball and began squeezing it as hard as she could.

"Damn it Ryo could you just quite down until it ends?"

But he was nowhere in sight instead his fellow player was standing where he had been standing and he was on third.

"Well dang, would you look at that. On third base already mm!" he said as he stood there, teasing and taunting her.

Alright, so she let him slip by. It wasn't the end of the world and all she needed was one more out and the game would end. Taking a deep breath she wound up her arm and loosened her shoulder before she brought the heat. Meanwhile in the dugout their big lizard friend Gino was, preocupied with something.

"You don't want to swing too hard or else you'll spin out of control. Keep your eyes on the ball and if it's coming for you swing away. Remember, three strikes and you're out but four balls and you can walk to your base." he said as he showed his little witch friend how to play the game.

"Right, so like this?" she asked as she swung away.

"Yeah that's pretty good but keep your shoulders up and keep the bat firmly in your hands. We don't want to put someones eye out right?"

"Yeah or Mr. Squawks might have a bit of heat to throw at us."

Yeah Saiko was someone that no one wanted to mess with. Last year they had made them participate in a fighting tournament that didn't exactly turn out so well but at least baseball wasn't as dangerous. There wasn't much more to teach her though, the only way she could learn was to get out there and swing away. Seeing her in that uniform though did kind of heat up his body. Not only was she cute but she seemed pretty smart and determined, just the kind of woman he liked.

"Malon sweetie?" they heard as he placed his bat down.

Upon looking up to the ground floor a woman with pretty long brown hair and beautiful brown eyes was looking down at them. Judging by her outfit though he knew who she was. That hat, those clothes, that monster pressure, it was all the same as hers.

"Oh you actually came did you?" she asked as she turned away.

"Heh sorry I lost track of time this morning. I was just so busy getting prepared that I didn't even stop to look at the clock."

Oh her mother, she may had been a genius but if there was one thing she was bad at it was keeping up with the time. As she looked around though she saw a face that she could never forget.

"Hey Tsukune yoohoo!" she yelled as she waved her hand to get his attention.

"Huh oh hey Yukari what's up?" he asked as he noticed her standing only a few feet away.

"Oh you know, Parents Day and all. I couldn't leave my little girl all alone here could I?"

"I'm seventeen mom..."

"I know but you'll always be my little Malon."

So just to count it off her list her first moment of embarrassment had passed and with still a whole day to go things could have only gotten worse right? Hey eyes turned to the chrome dome standing beside her as he watched them both converse.

"Who's you're...friend?"

"Oh sorry mam I'm Gino." he said as he looked up.

"Hm nice to meet you then Gino. Have you been taking care of my daughter?"

"Not really, we just met a couple of days ago..." he murmured.

Their conversation was interrupted however as Tsukune began shaking the gate. Was he really that into the game? Not really instead he was trying to get Kyra to come down from the tall fence. Up at the top he was perched like a majestic eagle.

"Kyra come man get down from there before you get yourself in trouble!" he yelled up to him.

Instead of answering though he just continued to bob his head to the beat of the music on his MP3 as he watched the game. With only one out to go it was all up to one batter to bring victory.

"Aright have it your way."

All he had to do was pull his leg back and give the gate a good kick before the vibrations began to make him wobble until he jumped off and landed gracefully on his feet in the crowd.

"Nailed it." he whispered as he dusted off his jacket.

"Alright now do you want to tell us why you were up there? You could have gotten into trouble with the coach or worse campus security."

"Ho yeah let me tell you something Aono, I fought through dozen upon dozens of men to take back the our land. I lost an arm to my enemy yet I kept on fighting. I've kicked the asses of many bar goers and I've raised three beautiful children. Do you really think a simple security team scares me?"

"Oh so are you saying you could take me on?" he responded as he unwrapped the mechanical arm from around his shoulder.

"Psh yeah, listen bud you may be a vampire but I have the skill and the speed. Good luck dealing with that."

Before the fight could instigate anymore though Yukari pushed herself between them and pushed them apart.

"Would you two knock it off? Do you want to embarrass your children?"

Upon looking at the woman Kyra was stricken, not by love but passion. As he took her hand into his he looked deep into her eyes as if he was trying to hypnotize her in some way or other.

"What a fine cut of meat do we have here? What's your name darling?"

"Her name is Yukari and you might want to..."

"Ah Yukari such a beautiful name for such a beautiful lady."

Once he planted his lips on her hand Tsukune knew what was coming. Once he finished she pulled out a wand of some kind and lifted it up.

"Oh what's that?"

"A present." she said as she winked at him.

It was a present alright for as soon as she lifted that rod of a loud whistle began approaching. Normally he could of dodged it but instead he stood there and took it like a man as the large bronze pan crashed right onto the top of his skull, knocking him to the ground.

"Ooo don't you think that was a little harsh?"

"Hmph he should have known if I was here that I was a married woman."

"Ugh, yeah I guess I deserved that. Sorry about that." he relied as he pushed the pan off his head.

"Wait Kyra aren't you married?"

"Yeah but the Mrs. has been away for about week or two while on business so I've had no no female company man. None at all."

"Well there are less creepy ways to talk to a female."

All of a sudden the crowd began to cheer as the runners began running home. With three men on base and the ball in the red sea there was no way they could lose as each ran across home plate. As soon as they crossed though Saiko stepped out and blew his whistle.

"Alright maggots head back inside, take off those uniforms, and get ready for the bell!" he yelled.

As he took threw his bat over his shoulder Ryo he walked over to his best friend with his usual big smile across his face.

"Hey come on cheer up we can't win all the time. After all how are you suppose to catch lightning?"

"Yeah you're right but I deserve a little reward for my effort don't I?" she asked as she licked her lips.

"Uh what?"

Without any warning she sunk her fangs into his neck and began digging in as he tried to pull her off. Out of all the times for her to get hungry it was in front of everyone else.

"OK, alright you can stop now. Come on there are people looking."

But the more he talked the stronger her bite became until he let go of her shoulders.

"You may have won but so do I." she muffled as she drank giving only a wink to him.

"Oh ho that's my boy! Get her son!" cheered Kyra.

"Oh yeah thanks a lot dad! Well things can't get much worse." he thought to himself as she pulled off.

With a little hiccup and his neck dripping a bit of blood they both began walking off the field. At least gym was done and over with and for what it was it wasn't that bad. Unlike the previous year Saiko didn't yell at them quite as much and the weather was just right for playing the game, not too hot and not too cold. As soon as everyone left the field except for himself, Gino and Malon a sudden wall of ice sprung from the ground but before they could escape it closed above them, trapping them inside.

"Ryo, are you alright?" she asked as she tried to break apart the ice.

"Yeah just you know, kind of trapped."

That's when things went from strange to just plain bad. Before he could help her something pulled back on his uniform collar and threw him to the center of the field. Who or what was it? He had no clue as he jumped to his feet.

"Malon you stay here, I'm going to check this out." said Gino as he threw his bat to the ground and ran out of the dugout.

"W-Wait Gino! Oh..."

The feeling that swept through the air gave her a funny feeling in her stomach as she watched him run out onto the field. She wasn't the only one watching though, everyone was watching to see what would happen next.

"You saw that right?" asked Ryo as he dusted his clothes off.

"Yeah something sprung up behind you and threw you out here. I couldn't get a good look, it was covered in black mist."

It wasn't until they were both out on the field that things big even worse. Before them two holes formed as the same black mist began to leak out. That wasn't the strangest part though, from them came two familiar faces.

"Oh you've got to be kidding me..." groaned Gino.

"That's right, you denied us out chance last time. You mocked us now you both will face our fury!"

"Danni and Suki right? Look you both seem, interesting but we've got to head to class so whoever made this would you kindly let us out!"

From atop the dome of ice came another familiar face but this one they were all too familiar with. Her presence went a cold chill up their spines as she landed just outside the barrier.

"Naomi, what's going on here? Why are you doing this?"

"Easy, they want to fight them so I'm giving them the opportunity. The only way out is for either team to lose. Once one team loses them I'll release them but until them have fun!"

"You can be a real jerk sometimes." replied Minami.

"Yeah..."

Looking around they saw that there really was no escape. The ice was thick, so thick that even Ryo wasn't sure if a Ultama Spark would break through. There was only one thing they could do.

"So we have to defeat them to escape." said Gino.

"Looks that way."

Their eyes burned with passion as they faced down the two clubbers and it was in that moment that they saw no fear in their eyes. These two were determined and wouldn't stop fighting until they won.

"Alright then, let's go. Have at you!" they both said as they prepared for battle.
