Chapter 12

A/N: Hello everyone! I'd like to write some response to your lovely and overwhelming reviews. Thank you all so much for sticking with this story. I know it's not running smoothly but you still kept up with it to find out what happens. To be honest, I've written the whole plot for this story from the start and the problem came in when I started to sit down and write. As I write the story, more ideas tend to enter my mind and so I added it. I didn't expect it to be this dramatic either. I just write what comes to mind and for me, it's been going well and I'm satisfied with my finished chapters. I promise you, I thought hard about this story and I'll try my best not to fail your expectations. As Kurt Hummel would have had it inked, "It gets better." This will be more than 12 chapters so expect more adventures from the Evans family to come! Hope you continue to read this story. Thank you for your support as always! Read, Review and Share! :D Enjoy!

Days have passed and all Sam did was drink and sleep. He didn't even bother going to work. Sam was a complete mess. He just lost everything he wanted and needed in life. Eating only happens when he's drinking and sleeping only happens when he's finally drunk. Everything was still in place when Quinn left. On his third day of being alone, he decided to go out at 1pm for the first time to buy some cigarettes and alcohol. He still had some cash in his wallet and his used it all to buy his needs. He went out to start his car but then he saw that it was out of gas. Now, he needed to buy less of the cigarette so he'll have some money to buy some stored gas. He figured, he needed some air anyway so he'll just walk to the nearest gas station which was quite far.

Good thing, Quinn saw him leave the house before he could see her around the vicinity. When Sam finally made his first turn, Quinn took the chance to go inside the house. She bought only 1 dress when she left the house. She's staying at a hotel and hasn't gone out since she checked in. She needed to go home and get her stuff back. When she entered their house, everything was still a mess. The table was turned, the couches were down, chairs were broken and tons of glasses were smashed on the floor. Quinn also noticed the liquor bottles and used cigarettes on the floor. Oh my God was all she said to herself. She needed to be out there before Sam could come back but she knew she had to clean up the house.

As fast as she could, she grabbed the broom and cleaned the mess. She flipped back everything in place and threw the trash in their places. She finished everything in a snap though the place wasn't as neat as it had to. At least, it was better than what she saw when she arrived. When she was about to return the broom in place, she noticed that the necklace and ring was still where she left it. She took it and put it inside her pocket.

Quinn entered the room and saw Cooper lying in bed. He doesn't look really good. She saw that his dog plate was empty. She opened the closet and saw that their stock of dog food was still closed. Cooper hasn't eaten for days. Suddenly, she felt the dog nudging at her feet.

"Hey, buddy. You want to eat?" She asked, petting the dog. Cooper was truly a part of their family. They treat him like their own child, no matter how weird that sounded. She hugged the dog tight. "You take care of Daddy Sammy while I'm not around, okay?" She kissed the top of the dog's head. She stood up and refilled the dog plate with food and gave him water. Cooper was really hungry.

Quinn, then, grabbed her luggage and filled it with her stuff. It was heart breaking for her to do that. She was actually controlling her tears as she needed to finish packing soon before Sam gets back. She packed all her things and hugged the dog goodbye. Finally, she went out to find a cab. Before she left, she looked at their house one last time.

"I'm sorry." She whispered to herself and left.

Sam got back from his shopping and when he entered the house, he was surprised to see it differently. He wasn't actually sure if that was his house. He was quite scared that someone might have entered his house and maybe stole some of his stuff. He didn't care anymore. He placed down the stuff he bought on the table and went inside the room. Cooper was eating and he remembered that he hasn't fed him for days. If this was a robber, he'd like to meet him and thank him for feeding his dog. He kneeled down and hugged the dog.

"Sorry, Cooper." When he kissed the head of the dog, he smelled that sweet smell he missed so much. That wasn't a robber who came. That was Quinn. He stood up and ran around the house to see if maybe she went back. When he saw no signs of Quinn, he opened her cabinet and saw it was empty. He knew this would come but he didn't expect it to actually happen. He sat on the floor and that's when his non stop crying started again.

Quinn woke up to the sound of the door bell. She didn't stand up yet. She's been like this for days. 2 weeks after their separation and she was still a mess. She was just staring blankly at the ceiling but the door bell didn't stop ringing. She turned to her left and saw the clock saying, it was 6:35 pm. She thought, maybe that was dinner but realized she didn't order room service. After countless annoying rings, she finally stood up and opened the door.

"Brody?" To her surprise, it was the least person she expected. "What are you doing here? How..."

"I followed you last week. Do you mind if I come in? I'll explain everything." He smiled at her but she didn't respond. She just let him in. "Thanks." He said when he got inside. Brody grabbed a chair and sat on it while Quinn sat on the bed. "You don't seem good... Would you like to tell me what happened?"

"I let you in so that you can explain what you're doing here." She said with one eye brow raised.

"I haven't seen you in school for so long. You didn't even tell me what happened at the Shireman's. I saw you at the registrar last week and you didn't seem fine to be bothered so I followed you."

"That's quite creepy, you know."

Brody giggled but Quinn was still emotionless. "I know and I'm sorry...but I had too." He exhaled and just looked at her, waiting for a response but she was just looking at her feet. "What happened, Quinn?"

"I dropped all my subjects. I'm not going back to school anymore."

"What? Are you serious? You're a week away from finals. Just submit your final paper to your professors and you're done for the semester."

"I can't okay? I'm a freaking mess. The last thing I'd want to do is thinking about those stressful papers." She nearly shouted at him.

Brody shut his mouth for a while. An awkward silence happened for about a minute until he asked her again. "So, do you want to tell me what happened?"

Quinn looked at him. "He cheated on me with his boss." She said and finally cried. It wasn't as hard as before. Maybe she ran out of tears or she was just too tired of her daily routine. "Sam loves me, I know it. But...they had sex. He gave in to sex." Brody stood up and sat beside her to hug her. "It's because I can't give him a child."

"Did he say that?" He asked.

She shook her head and cried a bit more.

"You should've asked him then."

"No, no, no... I don't want to hear anymore of his lies."

Brody became quiet for a while, comforting her.

"Someone sent him pictures, though."

"Pictures of what?" He asked.

"Us. Being really close. Those pictures are bullshit. He took it the wrong way. He thought I was cheating on him with you." Her head was leaning on his shoulders.

"Quinn, I have to tell you something..." He had to tell her now. "I'm in love with you, Quinn. Ever since the day I met you."

Quinn pulled away from the embrace and looked at him.

"I just put up with your best friend thingy 'cause I didn't want to lose you. If being a best friend was all I can have...I'd rather have it than nothing." He nodded, feeling really emotional with his confession.

Quinn stared at him for a while and suddenly crashed her lips on his. This was Brody's most awaited moment ever so he didn't think twice and kissed her back. The kiss went on until Quinn licked his lips, asking for his tongue. Brody moaned a little and opened his mouth to catch her tongue with his. Quinn pushed him down the bed and straddled him with their lips never parting.

The made out more with intense tongue action when Quinn spoke up. "Have sex with me if you love me." Quinn said, opening his button up shirt.

Brody opened his eyes and looked at her. "Quinn, stop." He said but she didn't. "Quinn, stop it."

"Just fuck me, Brody. Do what you want, I don't care!" She shouted and went back to his lips.

Brody moved her to the other side of the bed, with her back lying down. "Quinn, just stop, okay?"

She covered her face and started tearing up.

"I love you! I love you so much but I'm not going to have sex with you." He said as he sat up. "I've waited so long for your lips but this isn't right. A lot of things have went wrong for a long time and it's time to turn things around." He said, covering his face in stress.

"I just want to hurt him the way he did to me." She cried out, lying on her back. "I want to hurt him but I can't."

"Get up there, Quinn. Come on." She stayed down so he pulled her up. "I came here...to knock some sense out of you."

Quinn sat up but she was still crying. "I love you...but you don't love me. I get that. I accept that." Brody held both of her hands. "One part of love is something called sacrifice. I love you so much that I want nothing but to see you happy. Now, the only way for you to happy is to be with Sam." Brody started tearing up too.

"One more part of love is something called forgiveness. You love him still right?" He asked, lifting her head up to look at her eyes.

Quinn looked him in the eyes. "So much. I never stopped."

"Then what are you doing here? You're crying your eyes out when you should be with him fighting for the both of you. You're making it seem like you're letting that slutty boss of him win."

"I just don't know how to forgive him."

"Listen to your heart, Quinn but never decided without using your mind. You love him then go get him. Fight for him. Forgiveness might take time but that doesn't mean you have to give him up."

"I feel like...he gave up first, that's why I'm starting to give up. I'm too tired to fix everything. We're too broken." Quinn cried.

"How will you fix this if you're separated? You're not alone in this relationship, Quinn. You have to fight together to make it together." Brody smiled at her, wiping his tears away. "Sam's exhibit will be tomorrow night. Your support will definitely mean a lot to him." Brody reminded him.

"You think I should go?" She asked.

"Yes. Go get him, tiger." He gave her a smirk which made her smile.

"I'm sorry, by the way for how I acted." She apologized.

"Nah, don't be. At least, I had a chance to make out with you." Brody teased and they both laughed. "Don't let anyone ruin you and Sam, okay? Promise me that."

"I promise." Quinn smiled at him. "I'm gonna cut that bitch if she gets in the way of me and Sam again."

Brody laughed. "Okay, listen. I have one more thing to tell you."

"What's that?" She asked.

"I'm flying back to Australia in 3 days."

Quinn's eyes opened wide. She didn't expect that from him. "Are you serious? Why?"

"Well, like I told you, I'm in love with you...but I want you to be happy. If I stay in New York, I know I'll be dead when the day of your marriage comes. I'll be crazy when I see you finally getting married to the man you love."

Quinn remained quiet. She just looked at him.

"I want you to be happy but I don't want to be there when it happens. He'll be there...and that's enough for me because I know he'll be there for the rest of your life."

She smiled at him. He was doing so much for her. "Thank you, Brody. Thanks for everything. I don't know what to say anymore."

"Your smile's enough, Quinn." Brody smiled and stood up from the bed. "I guess I should be going now. Good luck tomorrow."

"I'll see you before you leave, Brody. I promise. Thank you again." Quinn smiled at him and he left. His talk woke her up and decided to plan for tomorrow's adventure.

Sam was the last to submit his photo with 3 days before the exhibit. Luckily, the organizers still accepted his work. He hasn't gone to work ever since the break up and he definitely has no plans on going back. This exhibit, however, is his only to chance to have money again. The museum will pay him $50,000 and that's about enough lifetime support for him to buy himself liquor and cigarette. It wasn't the money he was excited about, though. He was hoping to see the love of his life witness the success he would be encountering. Not that he wanted to boast about it. He just wanted her to be there every step he was going to make in his life. His was all suited up and ready to go to the exhibit.

Quinn got to the museum at about 8:30. The exhibit started at 7 and she just didn't want to be seen by a lot. She dressed for the occasion and presented the ticket Sam gave her a couple of months ago. The entire plan she had in mind that night was to just be there and support him. She didn't know how to fix everything with him yet. Supporting him would be a good step 1.

Quinn looked around, blending in with the special guests of the exhibit, avoiding the people who looked like questioning her presence. She grabbed a drink and roamed around the place. There were really amazing works by a lot of people. Suddenly, she noticed that people were looking at her then they'd be whispering to one another as though she was the topic.

She was really bothered by these attentions until she realized why she's being looked at. The next photo she came across with looked really familiar. She felt like she was looking at a mirror but she wasn't. She was indeed looking at a picture of herself, sleeping. She looked a bit different and she noticed, it was her look about 2 years ago. She went closer to read the description.

One of the reasons I had the passion for photography was to capture the greatest moments of my life. I always brought my camera whenever I go to an adventure. This photo captures the greatest moment of my life. It took me a while until I realized, I was staring at an angel. I knew I found my reason for living and I knew I had to get her. She's been the greatest adventure I've had and I wouldn't want it to end. –Samuel Evans; New York City

Quinn started tearing up at the 2nd sentence. She couldn't believe Sam used her photo as his best work. She couldn't believe Sam took a photo of her sleeping! The tears kept coming and she couldn't control it. Luckily, she didn't wear any mascara as she felt there will be tears coming in for the night. She touched the golden plaque with Sam's night. She kept repeating in her head how proud she was of him until he heard a familiar voice from behind.

"I remember taking that photo." Sam walked in and stood beside her, looking at the photo, with a drink in hand. Quinn looked at him on the side. "When you woke up, you thought I was going to kiss you so you slapped me in the face."

"No." She said as she looked back at the photo. "That was when I forgot to wake you up. I was your slave because I lost the bet at the swimming pool the night before." She smiled at the portrait.

Sam turned to look at her. "Whichever day it was, I still should've kissed you."

Quinn looked back at him. "I was upset that you didn't." She smiled at him again and he smiled back.

"Thank you for coming. It really means a lot." He took a sip from his drink.

"I wouldn't miss it for anything, Sam." She turned back to look at the portrait. "Even if I didn't come, I'd still be the proudest of you. I'll always be proud of you." She took a sip from her drink.

Sam just smiled and looked back at the portrait. There was an awkward silence between the two but they never left their places.

"Thank you...for the kind words on the description, by the way." Quinn said to break the silence.

"I just wrote what I felt...the truth." He said. "Thank you...for cleaning up the house. I never would've touched that unless you ask me to."

Quinn giggled. "You were never the cleaning type, Sam."

Sam giggled too. "Yeah, well. Maybe I should work on that if I'm gonna be living alone." He looked down at his shoes as he was swinging forward and backward.

"No man is an island. You're gonna need someone to be there for you no matter what." Quinn said, finishing her glass.

"I'd rather be alone if I'm not gonna be with the only girl I love." He looked at her and she looked back. Quinn didn't say a word but she just smiled at him. After a couple more awkward silence, Sam finally made a move. "Do you maybe...wanna go for a walk outside?"

Quinn looked at her watch. "The show's not over for another hour."

"It's fine. They have talked to me already. They don't need me anymore." A waiter came up to them to take their empty glasses. "So... Do you...want to go for a walk?" He asked again.

"Sure." She said and they left.

Xxx

They went out for a walk with no destinations in mind. They just want to walk and let their feet take them wherever it wants. They don't care if they roam around New York the whole night. Having each other makes everything a lot more interesting.

Quinn was rubbing both her arms and Sam noticed her. "Are you...cold?" He asked.

"Kind of."

Sam removed his coat and wrapped it around Quinn. She smiled at the gentleman that he is and said thank you. They continued to walk and Quinn remembered something.

"I didn't know you smoke."

"I...uh...just started when we found out about..." He didn't know how to put it into words without sounding harsh.

"...about not having a baby?" She continued for him.

Sam just nodded. "How's school?" Sam asked.

"I dropped out. I haven't attended any of my class anyway since Andrew left."

"You have one week left. You should have just finished it." Sam said and the look in his face was real disappointment.

"I had decisions to make. It wasn't easy but...I just had to."

"Well, I left Vogue. Just thought I'd let you know." He said.

"Why? Where will you get support for yourself?" Quinn was upset with his decision. It was honestly quite hard to look for a job in New York.

"I don't want to stay there if you keep feeling threatened of having me and Lara in the same building. I'm putting you first this time. Not my needs." He said and that made her smile. "The museum offered me a job anyway. I'm being paid $50,000 for tonight's exhibit plus their keeping me for exhibits. I'll be recommended to do some shoot in Broadway and special events. Now, that's a better deal."

Quinn smiled at him. He was starting to get his luck after everything that he lost. "I'm happy for you, Sam. Really."

They kept walking as another awkward silence came. They've been walking a long distance already but no one's complaining.

"Can we...have a calm and mature conversation about...everything?" Sam opened up and Quinn nodded at him. "First, I want to say sorry." He started. "I know what I did was wrong but I'm sorry I did it. That's not gonna change what happened but at least, you know how sorry I am." He looked down on his shoes again.

Quinn looked at her shoes too. "Can I ask why you did it?"

"Well, I felt like I was losing you. You were so upset about not having the baby and I couldn't do anything about it. I was upset too."

"So, you thought you would stop being upset if you have sex with another girl?"

"No... I just... I needed something to shake me up. Something to get my mind off all the problems." He coughed a bit from the weather. "When we were doing it, I felt like we were having sex just to have a baby."

"Isn't that the whole point of having sex?" She said.

"No... The whole point of us having sex is because we love each other. You wanted to have sex with me just to find out if it's possible for us to have a baby."

"I was doing it for you, either way. I didn't want to fail as a wife and a mother to you."

"A baby isn't the basis of a good wife or a good mother. Just your passion to have child is enough for me to see how great of a mother you are." Sam said and they were both quiet again. "No matter what, I know I was still wrong. I never should have done that."

Quinn just nodded. The breeze was getting cooler as the night becomes darker. It was Quinn's turn to talk.

"I'm really not sure who sent you those photos but they weren't what they looked like...at least, not to me."

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"Since we're being totally honest tonight, I'm gonna have to tell you that Brody came to my hotel room last night."

Sam was just quiet, waiting for her to continue.

"He told me he really loved me. He just kept up with the best friend act just to stay close with me. He was my best friend." Quinn sighed. "I really wanted to hurt you, Sam. I wanted to hurt you the way you did to me. Last night, we made out and I asked him to fuck me."

Sam stopped walking when he heard her say the f word. Quinn stopped when she noticed him stop. She looked back at him and said, "But we didn't. He stopped me." She gave him a soft smile and they continued walking. "It was actually him who knocked some sense to me and be at your exhibit tonight."

They were quiet for a while again. No one knows what to say so one waited for the other to speak first.

"I'm sorry, Sam. I'm really sorry. I should've come to you first than any other guy. It should be us who's working together to make it through."

Sam nodded in agreement. "What do you think went wrong? We were perfectly fine together until these circumstances happened. Do you think we're not yet ready?" He asked.

"I don't think anyone's ready to what may happen. Every relationship goes through the loops of life. Sadly, we just passed through the hardest ones too early. Everything in this world is a surprise and you have to be ready whatever the world throws into your face."

"But it was worth the ride. I was with you and that's all that matters." Sam grabbed her hand and locked it with his. They smiled at each other, feeling the togetherness again. "We did try to be prepared. We had everything planned out. Our future was already planned even if we're not yet married."

"I think that was the problem." Quinn sighed. "We were too focused on our future...when we haven't even settled the things in our present."

"Then maybe we can get married now?" Sam said and Quinn just laughed. Sam stopped the both of them from walking and held both her hands. "I still want to marry you, Quinn. Do you?"

"Of course, Sam. I want to marry you." She held his face with her right hand. Quinn instantly had a plan in mind. "Come with me." She grabbed his hand and pulled him to a much unexpected place she saw behind him.

They were running into this beautiful building until Sam realized it was a church. They sneaked inside and Quinn pulled him close to the altar.

"Quinn, what are we doing here?" He asked.

"I don't know if you noticed but I took the necklace and the ring back." She pulled out the ring from her purse and gave it to Sam. "It would feel more romantic if you'd propose to me again. Here at the altar." Quinn smiled and Sam was surprised with her plan. "If you need a hint: I'm going to say yes." She said and giggled.

Sam looked at the ring and shook his head. "This...engagement ring has...been through so much. It's probably about time to turn into another level." Sam pulled out a little red box from his pocket. He opened it and Quinn was already in tears just before she saw two beautiful golden rings. "Our marriage license came in the mail the day you took your stuff out. Instead of crying and wasting my time drinking, I went out and bought these wedding rings." He grabbed the rings and kept the box inside his pocket.

Sam picked up her left hand and she was already crying. "I've never been good with words. I just try and say whatever comes to mind that came from my heart. I made a lot of mistakes in the past but meeting you was probably the greatest achievement of my life. Falling in love with you was the reason for my existence. And now, marrying you is the best choice I have ever made. I love you, Quinn Fabray. I promise to spend the rest of my life loving you." He inserted the ring on her finger as the tears rolled down his face. "Even death, won't keep us apart."

Quinn was in so much tears already but she was trying to hold it as this moment was so special. She wanted to sound clear to him. Sam gave her the other ring and said, "Your turn."

"Sam..." She exhaled deep, trying to think of what to say. "I'm speechless. I don't know what to say." She giggled and tried to stop crying. "You will always be the love of my life. I may not be the best or give you the best but I promise to give you my all. I don't see myself spending the next 60 years with no one but you. I love you, Sam. I just love you." She inserted the ring on Sam's hand and immediately went for the kiss. He couldn't wait any longer so he kissed her back. Their lips locked with each other like they never want to let go. So much passion and so much love filled the place,

Xxx

Their night didn't end with the exchanging or rings at the church. They went straight to their house for some husband and wife time in bed. Everything was put behind. The past stayed in the past. What matters is right now. It was him and her becoming as one. After their kiss at the altar, no one remembered what happened. All they know is that they were stripping each other's clothes in the room, hungry for one another's love. Oh, how they missed this. When they were already naked, they went for it straight. He was hard for her and she was steaming wet for him. A little making out and touching was needed at first until he finally slid his hard throbbing dick inside her and they went into rhythm of movements. Everything felt so good and perfect. They both knew when to go fast or to slow things down. Their bodies responded well like they already know what the other wants. It him a while but after her second orgasm, he exploded his liquid inside her and oh how good it felt for the both of them. It was an out of this world experience. It felt like their first time. Everything became special.

It was already 2 in the morning and they were in an embrace, naked under the sheets after a long passionate love making.

"Babe?" Quinn said, wondering if he was still awake.

"Mhmm?"

"Since you made the decisions on the wedding rings, can I make some decisions about our marriage too?"

"Of course, babe. What is it?" He asked.

"I want to get married...tomorrow."

Sam looked at her weirdly. "That fast?"

"Just a civil wedding. We have our license, we have our rings and we have each other. That's all that matters right?"

"Yeah but...what about...the plans? We don't even have our outfits yet."

"You have a suit, I have a beautiful white dress I keep. We'll be fine."

"What about family?" He asked. He didn't want to disrespect their family.

"They can just go on our big wedding celebration. I mean, marriage is between the two of us right?"

Sam giggled. "You're serious about this?"

"Yes. I just want to be Mrs. Evans already." She giggled.

"Alright, I'll call to make an appointment early in the morning." Sam said and kissed her head.

"We can think of the honeymoon some other time. We have one more thing to settle."

"What is that?"

Quinn looked at him in a serious face. "We're gonna get Andrew back. We'll get our son back...together."

I HOPE YOU ENJOYED THAT! READ, REVIEW AND SHARE AS ALWAYS! THANKS!
