Chapter 18: No Way Home
Natasha slowly started to wake up, her eyelids flickered as her senses came back to her. The first thing she felt was pain, but she made no whimper, she was stronger than that. She eventually was able to crack open her eyelids to look where she was. A rush of light entered her optics and she was momentarily blinded. When she finally she adjusted she gasped. The room she woke up to was not a grungy basement, nor was she tied up in an old warehouse. Instead she was surrounded by gold's, silvers, and whites… white like fresh snow. She also noticed medical like equipment to her left. She figured she was in some hospital…or she was knocked out by some sick sex- driven bastard. She thought it was the first…but not one she was used to…possibly it was even privately own. She racked her brain for what happened last but could not remember…that scared her. Of course she had been unconscious many times, but of her own will. To get information, or to find some secret base, whatever the mission called for. But this time something happened she didn't expect. Her eyes opened a bit more and looked to her left. Beside her stood a large screen with an image on it, a golden image that seemed to glow. Focusing her eyes she noticed it was an outline of her…whenever she moved the replica did also. Natasha furrowed her eyebrows and was about to stand when she heard footsteps come close to her bed, soon followed by voices, quickly her eyes closed.
"I didn't know he would ever come back! Did you Dagny? I mean with a women too!" She heard one girl say to another, Natasha's eyes opened to slits and saw two teenaged girls…nurses? Talking. Both dressed in white goddess- styled dresses. Strange.
"Oh come Signe, you never once thought so?!" The one named Dagny exclaimed, "Anyways is she's healthy…Frigga wants to see her when she's awake, and then Odin. Poor Midgardian, our king will not be fond of her." Signe walked to the screen, Natasha's eyes following every step.
"She shall be in much pain… I mean for a mortal… but fine either then that, she should be waking up anytime." Natasha was once again confused…calling her a mortal… and a Mid- Guardian, or whatever it was, it was time to get some answers and the hell out of this place. When the girl named Signe walked over to her Natasha swung her legs over the bed grabbed the girls shoulder and arms and had her pinned upright. The motion was swift enough but she felt a stab of pain in every muscle and every joint. Signe gasped and struggled, her friend stood there shock still.
"Where am I?!" Natasha growled the order. "Tell me! I think you want to see your friend again." She wasn't really planning to kill her…well unless it was necessary.
"As…a ….Asgard….the heal….healing room." Dagny, the younger of the two stammered. "Please we are trying to help you." Natasha had heard that word many times…but where…
She remembered. Thor lived here. So did Loki. A jolt of pain ran through her leg and her dropped to the floor, she wasn't sure if it was because of the pain or shock.
"No…. how?" She murmured. Memories flooded back into her. The frost giants, captured, Clint, being controlled, the scepter, the pain. Loki.
Loki.
At that moment an older women rushed in. "I heard something are you two okay…the girl?" The others nodded and Natasha looked at the women, her hair was a rich chocolate and she wore a long flowing goddess dress. "You're awake." She said directly looking over me.
"Why am I here?" Natasha asked in more of a command then question.
"I'm not the one to ask… I didn't bring you here. Loki did." Natasha gasped; he shot me then took me to his alien 'home'. He is probably already dead. Why?
"Why?" She repeated out loud… grief and anger consumed her, she wasn't even on earth, every plan she ever made of escaping when something like this happened slipped away. Even if she left this room…this building…she couldn't get home. Slowly she struggled to an upward standing position. "I want to see him…if he is not already dead." Natasha stated bluntly, staring at the women, unafraid of the commanding air around her. The women shook her head slowly then opened her mouth to speak.
"Not yet…soon. I have questions to be answered first then you must go to Odin…Loki's father. He has just as many questions as I. Now girls." She turned her head to the others in the room. "Leave for now please." The girls obediently rushed out and the women … Frigga was her name? Sat on the bed and asked Natasha to do the same. "Do you have any idea why he brought you here… humans are not allowed on Asgard…not that he cares for our rules anymore. Why you?" Natasha looked away…
"I honestly have no idea." Thoughts of that kissed flew through head like a fire, but quickly extinguished. "I just want to leave." Frigga shook her head.
"No, you cannot, you are not fit for travel back to Midgard. You will have to stay here for a least one…well I guess on Earth they call it a week." Natasha groaned, spending a whole week here? It was too much, she would have to find a way off before then. Much before then, but first she must speak to Loki. She had to know.
Why her?
Hey sorry guys, the wonderously busy month of December came and I was loaded up with tons of essays, tests, and exams! Then when the 2 week Christmas break came I got a horrid stomach flu. So I hope these excuses make up for the time between this chapter and the last. Sorry! Any ways hope the next one comes sooner, and hope you enjoyed.
