A/N: Hey there. This is the third part of the grand battle! But before I start, I want to say something. I am not requiring anyone to read my god awful story, you read at your own risk. Meaning, that I'm sick of hate flooding my inbox.

Now, for those of you who actually like this story and give amazing reviews and brighten my day, I love you guys!

Anyways, on with the story!

xXxXx

Flares went off in the corner of my eye, but kept my ground, my eyes not leaving Dragon's for a second. We paced around each other, both of us sizing the other, deciding who was going to make the next move. Both of us were dripping blood, both wounded, both tired, both determined, both ready for the kill. Honestly, this had been my plan from the very beginning, considering I knew how this would end. I would stay here and fight, while everyone else would leave, thinking I was out of the haze. Being fire proof helped some, but not against a knife. I stepped closer, making the circle between us even smaller, and waited for Dragon to make the next move. I leapt back, as Dragon quickly advanced, slashing at me with a hidden knife, but while I was distracted with the knife, and gun rang throughout the air. Everything paused, nothing seemed real. Not the flares, not the light rain that started to fall, not the smoke, not the blood running down my body. None of it.

I stepped back, Dragon not moving, just blank eyes, as I fell to my knees. I didn't understand, why me? I was supposed to come back. Yukio was waiting for me, Wolf was waiting for me, everyone, they were waiting for me to hurry up and get to class, and then Bon would make a snide comment about me sleeping in. It couldn't end like this. I looked down at my stomach, a holy bullet eating its way into my flesh, blood pouring from the wound. I looked back up at Dragon, as he turned to walk away. My eyes narrowed. The fight wasn't over yet. I was still alive, and I pulled out a gun, aiming it for his back, and then fired.

Wolf didn't know what to do. The gunfire kept going, never stopping, and she was running out of time. Flares still lit the room every few seconds, the nearing time coming closer and closer. Wolf, looked up through the haze, seeing a small hallway across the room. Wolf uncovered her head, blood streaming from a cut on her temple. She slowly crawled through the rumble, sharp fragments, scratching her stomach, more blood spilling. She stopped before a set of shoes, looking up to see a man firing randomly into the cloud of rumble, the thought of this fight crossed her mind. She wasn't done yet. Wolf quickly pulled out a small knife and sliced the man's ankle in one graceful movement. When he fell, she stabbed repeatedly, until she was sure his soul had left him. She fluidly rolled off him, and stood. She was not afraid anymore. If this was her fate, then so be it. She charged forward, towards the closest gunfire, and leapt up, far above the gunfire, attack from the air, twisting and turning until she got rid of three men, crouched to the ground, down all fours, until she spotted her next prey. She kept low as she ditched her knife, and went in empty handed.

Crow landed at the bottom of the building with a light thud, quickly meeting up with Rock, who was out of breath, looking up at clouded window, bright flashes of bullets like strobe lights. Rock sent Crow an uneasy glance, but then returned his gaze to the window. Crow pulled at his arm, signaling him to move on, but Rock didn't move.

"It hasn't stopped, right? Then it must mean she's still alive, have faith in her. Let's move on." Crow firmly grasped Rock's arm, and tugged him out of his daze, Rock stumbling after him, as they met up with the others.

Bon, Shima, Izumo, and Miwa were at the meeting place, near the fence, Shima lighting off the flares. As Crow and Rock approached, Crow could see two others slowly walking out of the building, within a few moments, he recognized them as Yukio and Shiemi. Crow sat down on the dirt, as Shiemi and Yukio followed his example. Crow looked up at Rock, following his line of sight to the room Wolf was in. The lights and the sound of gunfire had decreased, and Crow himself wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing.

"Do you think…" Rock muttered under his breath, so only Crow could hear.

Crow replied, "No. She's not that stupid. She knows how to make the right choices, if she choses."

"But she is also one to tempt fate."

"Then, let's see if lady luck is truly on her side."

Once Yukio sat down next to Shiemi, his eyes were drawn to the building, the hell hole where his brother was still fighting inside. He glanced at Crow and Rock, who weren't looking at each other, but were muttering to each other, too quiet for Yukio to listen in on, but he had a fairly good guess what they were talking about. Rin and Wolf were the last two who hadn't come back. With Wolf, he believed that she would come back no problem, considering what she had to them on their first visit, but Rin… he was Yukio's brother, his only family member.

"One minute felt." Izumo said, and Shima lit the flares faster.

Yukio looked towards the roof, noticing that no flashes of light had been seen for a while, and bit his lip nervously. His eyes widened when a sudden flash caught his eye, and then, almost in slow motion the bomb went off, half of the building blown to dust, the other half, engulfed by flames.

"Oh god." Was the only thing that came to Yukio's mind, as he stood. "Oh god….Rin."

xXxXx

Rin ran through what was left of the building, trying to find Wolf. Her scent was fresh, meaning she was still in the building. Rin ran from room to room, dodging falling debris and jumping over burning rumble. When he finally found Wolf, she in a ball, coughing. Rin wasn't having much of a problem with breathing, because of his demon blood. Rin bent down and held her in his arms, looking around to find a safe place to exit out of the room. There was a window on the other side of the room, but large greedy flames licked at the window, hungry for more fuel. All doorways were blocked, and even though Rin was fire proof, it didn't mean Wolf was, and he had no intention of leaving her there.

Rin looked down at Wolf, as she lay in his arms, unconscious, and he held her closer. "I'm sorry." He whispered, and hoped she wouldn't wake up anytime soon.

Cold blue flames started to grow from his body, spreading across the floor, over powering the fire in the room until it was purely his. Rin closed his eyes and focused, then curled into Wolf, shielding her. And that's when the floor underneath him disappeared.

Dear Journal,

It's been a month, and no sign of my brother or Wolf yet. Christmas and New Years has already passed, as well as our birthdays. The Esquires have been sent back to campus, and call frequently for any sort of update on Nii-san's whereabouts. So far the only thing that has been found in the rumble is charred flesh, rags of what used to be clothes, and a few melted weapons here and there. Around a week after the second half of the building has collapsed, we found Dragon's body, still breathing. Crow had him brought him back to Laughing Shadow's base, and didn't kill him until he got the information he wanted, which he still hasn't told anyone yet. I'm starting to wonder if Nii-san is actually alive, of if he was one of the many bodies that still lay under the rubble. Whenever I go back to our dorm, Kuro always is seen waiting by the door, waiting for Rin to come home. Sadly enough, Kuro refuses to eat until Rin returns, but I'm not sure if when that will be. Crow and Rock are going on another search tonight, and I plan on joining them. Maybe tonight we'll get lucky and find them.

I closed the book, and learned back in the old chair, creaking under my weight. I rubbed my hand over my face, looking out the window, out into the dark city, a single lane of lights representing Main Street. I slowly stood up, pulling on my combat boots, and leather jacket. Nii-san had done this for years on end, so I could as well. It was my turn to help him.

"You should be eating."

"I don't care! I'm not going to until Rin comes back." Kuro said firmly, eyes tearing up.

"Eat."

"No!"

"Yes. Rin would want you to. Believe me."

"Why should I listen to you?" Kuro protested, fur raising.

"Because I am very close to Rin, trust me on this."

"D-do you mean Rin is okay?"
