I'd like to apologize for the fact that I involve a lot of dialogue. It's just how I feel comfortable writing, usually.
Here's chapter 3
Chapter 3: A Sleepover That's A Walk In The Park
The lack of a reply was irritating to say the least.
Sasuke had answered the phone at least two minutes ago and yet all he got as a response to his greeting was stifled giggles on the other end.
He let out an exasperated sigh.
"Why are you calling me?" He asked as his patience slowly deteriorated.
Still no answer.
"Naruto, you idiot. You didn't even call private. What do you want?"
"Awh, dang! See, Kiba! I told you we had to dial that code first!" the voice on the other end of the line finally spoke up, "Uh, sorry about that, I guess."
"Hn. Why are you calling?" Sasuke asked, straight to the point.
"We made plans..." Naruto said coolly just as Sasuke's phone started vibrating. "Are you getting another call?"
"Yeah...," He said while looking at his phone, "some private number."
"Let it go to voice mail or something, man." This time Kiba spoke, "This idiot and I need you to pick us up at his apartment." Naruto agreed and once again mentioned that he had made plans for the night.
Sasuke grunted but smirked nonetheless. He had been wanting to go out, but those two always needed a ride seeing as Kiba wasn't allowed to borrow his sister's car anymore after a certain incident involving his dog, and Naruto never passed the driving exam due to his overzealous excitement in flooring the gas pedal out of sheer enjoyment. Still, as mentioned before, he wanted to go out and do something. And, if picking up those two was the only obstacle then so be it.
The girls sat in a circle around Sakura's phone as their call was sent to voice mail for the third time. They sat there quietly staring at the pink phone as it repeated the young Uchiha's voice mail again:
'This is Sasuke. Don't call or leave a message more than once. I'll get back to you if I have the time or need to.' *beep*
All except Ino, who seemed very texually active for the passed ten minutes. When asked who she was texting, her simple reply was 'no one'.
"Well," Sakura began as she reached out for her phone and grabbed it, "that didn't go as planned, huh?"
TenTen and Hinata nodded in agreement as Ino continued texting.
You see, Ino was tired of this 'girls' night' at her house. Her parents weren't going to be home until Monday and the best idea her friends could think of was prank calling. Well, it was her idea to prank call, but, STILL. She needed to stimulate the adventurous side of her brain and that was something that could not be done by sitting around in her bedroom upstairs!
And, so, while her three friends were trying the reach Sasuke, she was texting Naruto and Kiba. Not anything inappropriate, of course! Ino Yamanaka maybe flirty but she would never lower her standards to those two. No offense to them. She just has feelings for someone else.
'Come on,' she thought as she violently stared at her phone waiting for Naruto, or Kiba using Naruto's phone, to reply. Buzz. 'Finally!' She smiled as she read the text that one of the boys, likely Kiba, had just sent her:
hey
be at shikamarus in 15
the big guy says hes alreadythere
shino cant make it
cya in 15
'The big guy' was what Kiba called Choji over text. She was so excited. With the whole group there they were likely to do something fun. She stood up loudly and confidently, interrupting the conversation she hadn't noticed the girls were having.
"What's up, Ino?" TenTen asked curiously.
"Well, girls," She practically sang, "be bored no longer. For I, your heroine, have invited Choji and the boys over."
"Naruto...?" Hinata whispered while looking down and hiding her red face, hoping none of the girls would hear her.
"That's right, girly," Ino grinned, "He'll be here. So will Kiba and Shikamaru and Sasuke. So get dressed, 'kay?"
"Not to rain on your parade," Sakura said, sounding a bit cross,"but, none of us brought extra clothes. My dad was gonna pick us up and take us home in the morning, remember?" Ino made an O shape with her mouth. She completely forgot.
"I'm sure it's fine," TenTen smiled, "It's not like we'll being going outside. It's freezing."
"Y-yeah, TenTen's right." Hinata agreed.
The other two nodded.
-30 minutes later, the group has been sitting in Ino's living room for 15 minutes-
Sasuke let out a deep breath for what felt like the hundredth time since he arrived at Ino's house. Yeah, he was glad he was out of his own home but this wasn't in alternative he had in mind.
He was sitting on the floor next to Kiba and he was loathing every second of it. Not that he particularly disliked the other boy, it was just that said other boy was trying to smooth talk the not-so-new girl. And the worst part was that she was just sat there smiling. Smiling and slightly flirting back. It made him sick. He wasn't jealous. After all, he could tell that she wasn't interested in Inuzuka in a romantic sense, her body language made that clear. And, he was sure that Kiba was only messing around, as he would. It just felt unbearable. It must've been the fact that he couldn't stand being in Ino's house any longer even though it'd stopped raining a good five minutes before. 'Yeah, that's it.'' He told himself.
"Let's do something!" Naruto exclaimed, scaring the white-eyed girl that was sat next to him.
"Naruto, you almost gave her a heart attack!" Sakura reprimanded him as she patted the other girls back.
"Sorry," He rubbed the back of his head,"It's just, we came here to do something, so...let's do something!"
The group spent the next 20 minutes trying to figure out what to do. Shikamaru suggested chess or a game of strategy, which was turned down quickly. Choji suggested a mini eating contest, only because he was hungry. Sakura suggested they all study together for their exam in Kakashi's class, this was also turned down quickly. There were many suggestions. Good ones and bad ones, like strip poker. But, in the end, they all agreed on one game.
"Here's the rules," Shikamaru spoke lazily, "you'll be put into groups of two. Excluding myself, I'm not playing for the obvious reason that I'd just rather not. You will pick a number out of this hat," he lifted a purple beanie with slips of paper in them, "and the person that has the same number as you is your partner. You can't trade. Just deal with it, okay? Now then, Ino and whoever her partner is will be the seeking team. The rest of you are the hiders. The last person who gets caught wins it for their team," he yawned,"You'll get a ten minute head start. Now pick a number."
They all reached in, pulled a slip of paper out, and unfolded it.
"I have 1." Sakura spoke first.
"Oh, me too." Hinata said happily as she made her way to stand next to her friend.
"I've got 4." Ino showed her number.
"That's me." Choji situated himself by her side.
"3." TenTen said smiling. Sasuke looked at his number again, '2'.
"Looks like it'll be you and me then." Kiba winked at her. Sasuke suppressed a grunt, 'Gross,' then his eyes went wide, 'Wait, that means-'
"Don't worry, Sasuke!" Naruto declared as he stood next to him, "We're sure to win. It'll be a walk in the park!"
"Everyone go now." Ino demanded happily.
"Great." Sasuke mumbled as he made his way to place where no one, including his partner, would find him.
Yeah, I'm like king at short chapters.
Sorry
