Ch 4: Love and Rain

The young Uchiha stared at the night sky. He'd chosen the perfect "hiding" place. Not that he was actually hiding. In actuality, he was out in the open and anyone that walked by would be able to see him. Then again, no one came to the school's track field when it was practically midnight.

There he lay, on the bleachers, just staring at the stars in the sky. It was a habit he picked up from hanging out with Shikamaru too much. And for that he was truly grateful. He never knew how relaxing it was to just stare at something so, so...

"Beautiful." He heard someone murmur next to him.

Sasuke furrowed his brows and looked to his left and came face to face, or rather face to the side of face, with the not-so-new girl, TenTen. He stared at her for a good minute or so, she didn't seem to notice or rather didn't seem to care. He turned his face to the sky again and let out a frustrated sigh. 'What's she doing here?' He asked himself, 'How long has she even been here? And, if she's here that must mean Kiba is around, too. Dammit.'

"Where's Kiba?" He asked her coldly. He could've asked nicely and ask how she was and all that but he was a straight to the point kind of guy.

"Hm," She hummed and smiled, "I'm not sure. He told me to follow him but he caught sight of Naruto and sped off. I didn't really bother to chase after him and just ended up here."

He stared at her once more. She was just laying down next to him smiling like an idiot. 'What's she so damn happy about?' He thought irritably.

"Where's Naruto?" She asked politely, finally looking in his direction.

"Hn." He grunted as he turned to face the stars for a second time, "How would I know? I came here to be alone." 'Hopefully she'll get the hint'

"Me too." She said, "Kiba can be kind of overwhelming. I'm kinda glad he forgot about me once he saw Naruto. I don't think I could stand being alone with him for another minute." Sasuke turned and gave her a quizzical look. "Don't get me wrong. I love him-"

"Love him?" He interjected calmly, 'Love him!?' he felt slightly sickened.

"Not that kind of love, of course." She stated, "The kind of love that you probably have for Naruto."

"Love for Naruto?" Sasuke scoffed, "That's disgust-"

"Not that kind of love." She repeated smoothly as she turned her head to face the stars again, "An informal love, you know? The kind you feel towards family and friends."

Sasuke watched her as her smile seemed to falter at the mention of family. 'Interesting.' He told himself.

"Informal love," He repeated a bit mockingly, "Nonsense." She chuckled lightly.

"You remind me of Hinata's cousin."

"You know Neji?" He grimaced, 'She must be friends with him.'

"Don't you?" She asked as she closed her eyes, "You two would make good friends. Or, interesting rivals." Sasuke grunted and she chuckled again and yawned, "He does that too, you know?" He looked away and closed his eyes as well. 'Weird girl.' He thought to himself as he began to doze off.

-2 hours later, Outside of Ino's house-

"One, two, three..." Shikamaru lazily counted the heads of his friends, "We're missing two?" The others looked at him in surprise.

"Wait, then, the game is still going," Ino said as the others looked among themselves trying to figure out which two of the group were missing.

"Who'd be crazy enough to stay out in this weather?" Chouji questioned as he referred to the weather that, once again, was beginning to look like a severe storm was about to hit.

"Kiba," Sakura spoke with a bit of venom as she realized who was missing, "Where is TenTen?"

He scratched his head, "I-I...Is she not in the bathroom?"

"Hey, Naruto," Shikamaru spoke again, "Where's Sasuke at?"

Naruto looked around, "I thought he went to the bathroom."

Just then, a cliche roll of thunder hit and scared everyone.

"We should get inside." Shikamaru said calmly as he made his way to the door.

"B-but, what about TenTen and Sasuke?" Hinata asked worriedly. "We have to go find them."

"Not in the storm that's coming." He stated casually as he successfully made his way inside while the first drops of rain fell.

"Shikamaru's right, guys." Chouji agreed, as he followed.

"I guess it can't be helped." said Kiba, following 'The Big Guy'. Naruto merely nodded, looked up to the sky, and then ran inside as it started raining a lot heavier.

"But it's dangerous. W-we don't know where they are." Hinata called to the boys as she made her way inside followed by Ino and Sakura.

"It is for us too if we go out there now and look for them," Sakura informed the worried girl.

"Yeah," Ino sympathized, "Those two are smart, they'll be fine."

Hinata nodded as she looked out the window. The weather was definitely no safe. But, Ino was right. TenTen and Sasuke were smart.

Sasuke woke with a start as heavy drops of rain repeatedly collided with his face.

'Water? Water...Rain!' He sat up quickly and looked around. 'Shit.'He was still on the bleachers at the school's track field.

"How could I be so damn stupid?" He questioned his intelligence quietly as he got up slowly. "How could I have fallen asleep? It's all because of that damn girl..."

That's when he remembered that he probably wasn't the only one that was caught in this mini-storm.

He began to look down slowly hoping that TenTen had left after he fell asleep. And, as his recent luck would have it. His hoping did nothing to change the fact;

1. The girl did NOT leave after he fell asleep. In fact, she fell asleep right next to him

and

2. She seemed to be a hell of a heavy sleeper because even though the rain started to feel like a damn waterfall, she didn't show any sign of being stirred at all.

He stared at her sleeping form. She was only in her pajamas which consisted of a thin white t-shirt and shorts.

"Fuck."
