Ch 5: Sleeping Just Means Sleeping

'She's dead...' He thought grimly to himself.

"Hey," He nudged her shoulder, "wake up."

Nothing.

'She's definitely dead.' He shivered.

The rain was pelting downard and, if the wind was strong enough, sideways. It was freezing and raining. He wouldn't be surprised if the rain turned to hail, after all, things hadn't been going the way he'd like them to all day. Out of all things that Sasuke had silently hoped wouldnt ever happen, two of them happened. One; being caught up in a freezing rain/thinderstorm. And two; being stuck with what seemed to be someone's unconscious, perhaps dead, body. He shivered again. 'Damn, I'm freezing,' he looked down at his attire, 'At least I've got my jacket to keep me from completely freezin-'

His thoughts were interrupted by a grunt coming from the girl. He looked down at her and finally took in the fact that she was wearing shorts and a very thin, very wet, very see through white shirt. 'She probably is dead,' He tried not to stare at a certain area. He wasn't that kind of guy, at least that's what he believed. Instead, he focused on her face.

Her face was scrunched up hard and extremely pale. Had it not been raining Sasuke would've of guessed she was also sweating. She grunted again and whipped her head to the side, her face looking more strained and...afraid. He furrowed his brows before he turned around and prepared to leave.

'They say never to wake someone up, right?' He tried reasoning his behavior. He knew what was right but for some reason he was feeling weird around her, even though she was sleeping. 'I should just leave,' He told himself, 'She'll be fine. Just don't look back.' And with the first step he took, he looked over his shoulder at her and instantly regretted doing so.

TenTen was just laying there sleeping, face scrunched up in what looked like a mixture of fear and pain. Her entire being shivering, unconsciously trying to keep warm.

"Shit." He cursed as he turned on his heel and began removing his jacket. "Dumb girl."

He bent down and placed his jacket over her upper body before he picked her up bridal style. Her being asleep and all he'd figured that carrying her that way would be more efficient. As for the jacket, he knew it wouldnt warm her up all that much. He just figured she needed the little bit of extra warmth more than he did. After all, he was at least wearing long pants.

Sasuke had been walking and carrying TenTen for a good twenty minutes. He wasn't in any particular rush. The rain had turned into a light drizzle and the girl in his arms seemed to have stopped shaking violently as soon as he had made it out of the school's track field. He sighed, cursed the bipolar weather, and looked down at her for the hundredth time since he'd begun carrying her.

She looked at peace, smiling slightly and unknowingly snuggling closer to him to feel the little bit of warmth that radiated from his body. As she let out a pleased sigh, he merely grunted irritably and looked forward once more. He thought to himself how this was exactly the type of situation that Shikamaru would call a 'drag'. He also got to reminding himself that things weren't the same as they used to be before she showed up. Things were different and different meant bad. His older brother, Itachi, proved that to him about a year ago.

After all, since she's shown up his luck was down in the pits. Plus, all of sudden it bothered Sasuke whenever Kiba decided to 'spit his game', as he shamelessly put it, towards the brunette. Not to mention the fact that she now occupied the seat next to his in Kakashi's class. He very much liked that seat being empty and she took that away from him. Though, that was were Kakashi assigned her, wasn't it? 'Either way,' he figured, 'she has made things different.' At this point he realized that was down the street from Ino's house. 'Finally.'

He glanced downward to look at her again and was surprised to see a pair of very confused, brown eyes staring back at him.

"What happened?" She asked genuinely confused as to why she was soaking, freezing, and being carried by a boy she hardly knew.

He stopped walking, placed her on her own to feet, and replied, "You fell asleep." And he began walking past her towards his destination.

"Fell asleep?" She followed closely behind him. She looked down and noticed she was holding a jacket. "This is yours?"

He nodded.

"Thank you," He could hear her smiling, "You can take it ba-"

"You need it more than I do." He interrupted nonchalantly. She was next to him now, smiling as she put her arms into the sleeves with the back of the jacket cover her front. "We're here." He stated as they both walked up Ino's driveway and knocked on the door.

"Hey," she spoke up, he simply glanced at her as acknowledgement, "I didn't say anything while I was sleeping, right?"

He arched a brow in interest and turned his head so he could observe her fully, "I don't think so."

"Good."

==Inside Ino's House, Ten Minutes Later==

"We were very worried about you." Hinata spoke quietly to the both of them.

The entire group was sitting a circle in Ino's room. Shikamaru had ran, or rather jogged slowly, to his house to get a dry shirt and dry pajama bottoms for Sasuke to wear. Ino had done the same, minus the running, for TenTen.

"Yeah," Chouji agreed, "We were wondering what had happened to the two of you."

"Couldn't you have at least called?" Sakura questioned sounding very motherly.

Ino nodded, "It's practically four in the morning. What happened?"

"I think I know what they were doing." Naruto spoke with his fox-like grin as he nudged Sasuke with his elbow.

"I think I know, too." Kiba added with his dog-like smile as he nudged Sasuke's other side with his elbow. 'Why do I always get put in undesirable places?' Sasuke questioned as he tried ignoring the two immature boys sitting on either side of him.

"We just ended up sleeping together." TenTen spoke eyes widening, quickly realizing that her sentence wasn't properly thought out.

Silence proceeded.

Hinata turned fifty shades of red and looked like she was about to pass out.

Naruto and Kiba's eyes widened as they stared at the boy, nay the man, that sat between them.

Ino and Sakura blushed slightly and dare not look at anything but the floor.

Chouji looked towards Shikamaru and they both shared a shrug once they made eye contact.

Sasuke exhaled loudly and looked sternly at the brown eyed girl, "That came out wrong." TenTen nodded sheepishly to him and he continued, "What happened was-"

"Well, we should go to sleep!" Naruto exclaimed. Sasuke glared at the blonde, 'Can I not explain myself?'

"Great idea!" Ino said breaking out of her little trance. "Sasuke, TenTen. You two won the game. So-"

"But, he was my partner!" Naruto whined. Kiba nodded as he added on the fact that his partner, TenTen, had also won.

"Right, well, you two got caught and your partners seemed to work well together."

"Ino's right, guys." Chouji said as he looked at the blonde girl who gave him an appreciative smile.

"What do the winners get?" Sakura asked, intrigued.

"The winners get to share my bed!" She replied enthusiastically.

Hinata fainted.

"I'm leaving" Sasuke stated as he stood up from the circle. Everyone looked up at him.

"Why?" The platinum blonde questioned. He merely snorted as he turned and began making his way downstairs to retrieve his car keys. 'I drove here,' he told himself, 'I could easily drive back.'

Everyone upstairs sat in silence for the next couple of minutes.

"Well," Shikamaru yawned, "let's sleep."

"Yeah." TenTen replied quietly as she looked out the window and watched Sasuke drive away. "Let's sleep."

Welp. That ends the whole sleepover arc.
