Okay, Guys! Been wayyyyyyy too long here! I can't believe how long I have been inactive on here! DX I really need to stop procrastinating and get on with the story! ENJOY!
"Uh, it doesn-"
"Draco asked her to hogsmeade this weekend," Harry butt in, ruffling her hair. He gave Hermione a grin, and winked at Minnie.
She began growling, but it turned to a whimper as Hermione made a loud, high-pitched squeel and hugged her.
"Gah!" Minnie gasped as the Gryffindor nearly squeezed the breath from her lungs. "Hermione! E...nough!"
Hermione pulled away and bit her lip, a mischievious smile on her face. " Sorry, I just know that you have had the hots for Malfoy since third year. That was the year after I broke up with the arse wasn't it, Harry?"
"T'was, indeed," He raised his arms over his head, stretching them with a yawn. Minnie rolled her eyes, fighting not to pout. She knew they were only teasing... But still, even if it WAS true (him being an arse, and her liking him since third-year), she couldn't help but get embarrassed or annoyed everytime it was mentioned.
'And I still didn't get to play Quidditch!' She glanced behind her longingly, pausing for a few moments. 'It'll have to be later, then.' She sighed, hurrying along to catch up to the other two.
"Minnie!" The voice from behind her startled her out of her thoughts. She hadn't seen Draco like she had said she would, and now he was suddenly popping out of nowhere. Calling her name, nonetheless.
"Ah, yes?" She bit her lip, turning her face down and looking up at the boy. She felt weird just standing next to him. Like she was almost jittery, and yet she felt as settled and calm as ever.
"Well..." He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. " I have to cancel what we have planned," He opened his eyes, staring down at her hard.
Her stomach dropped, her face going red(der than it already was). Of course he would cancel. Why had she thought he would even give a kluts like her a second glance? "O-oh... Of course. It's fine," She looked up at him, her eyes were watering slightly but she still forced a smile on her face.
Draco blushed, looking away, and ran a hand through his hair. His face was scrunched up in something close to concentration. " Minnie... I just... Just..." He closed his eyes again, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Just forget it."
He looked down at her and held out a peice of paper.
"What is it?" She took it and ran her fingers along it's smooth top. It was a folded in half, normal peice of slightly-yellowed paper.
"If you'd open it, you'd find out, wouldn't you?" He scoffed.
"Oh, of course," She unfolded the paper, hesitating slightly.
It was blank.
She looked up at him in confusion.
He shook his head. " When you need it, you'll know what it is." He tucked his arms under one another. "It's my way of... apologizing."
Her eyes, she now realized, began watering again. Her heart twisted. An apology gift. He had given her an apology gift for canceling.
'that means he had been planning to cancel with me. For how long though?' he had only asked her out this morning, had he been regretting it as soon as he had done it?
Her hands tightened. She rolled the paper up and placed it in her robe pocket, so it would be safe.
She had to leave before he saw her cry.
Too late.
A tear rolled down her face, and she quickly swiped at it, hoping he hadn't noticed. Then another. And another. She turned and dashed, leaving Draco standing there, unsure of what to do next.
She ended up outside of the school, somewhere on the grounds she wasn't familiar with. She didn't care though. There was a garden, and a bench.
'Why, oh, why did I have to have touched that stupid peice of fuzz!' She plopped down on the bench, her hair rustling the rose bush behind her. The garden was a bit overgrown, but that was how she had always liked gardens to be.
Lush, thick with the fragrance of flowers, and bursting with wanted a thin, flat garden anyway?
Rustle.
Crackle.
Tap tap tap.
She looked up to see Draco dashing across the grass to her. He looked upset, torn even. His cheeks were flushed, and he looked slightly out of breath.
"I-" She was cut off by his lips meeting hers. His arms wrapped around her, warming her against the cool air. His lips were soft, and a bit forceful against her own. She loved it.
She closed her eyes, melting into his embrace. This was bliss, even if she knew it wouldn't last.
He pulled away slightly, and she opened her eyes. Her cheeks were still wet with tears as he looked at her.
His hand left her body, much to her dislike, but came up to brush her cheeks. She blushed, he was so amazing. How could she ever live up to that?
"Let me explain, Minnie," his eyes were desperate, pleading. She nodded.
Okay, I hope you liked it! If you're still with me, leave me a comment and tell me what you think! I promise to update more often, and I swear I will never go that long again without updating! Until next chapter, bye!
