Chapter 5

Britt slammed the door behind her. "Surprise? This is not a surprise. This is insanity. You can't be here. I thought I was awake."

Regina chuckled. "Calm down dear. This is going to work. I wanted to see this world for myself."

"How am I going to explain you?" Britt asked frustrated.

"I'm a relative of yours. Or say I'm a friend," she suggested.

"Nobody is going to believe we're friends. They'll probably say I'm manipulating you or holding something over your head," Britt said.

Regina rolled her eyes. "So I'm your cousin then. Now that's settled, why don't you get cleaned up and you can show me around?"

"Well, I have to go to the hospital for a few minutes and then we can go," Britt said. Britt drove to the hospital and noticed how mesmerized Regina was with everything. They pulled into the parking lot. Britt turned to her. "Remember what we discussed."

"I'm good at lying. It's in my blood," Regina said. She got out of the car and waited for Britt. They went to the elevator and Britt slightly pushed Regina on it.

"I'm not sure about the quality of your infirmaries in your world but it's very technological here." Regina nodded her head. It landed on their floor and walked out.

Britt went up to the front desk and asked for a patient's chart. Regina followed her to a child's room and Britt told her to stay in the hallway.

Regina's heart ached at the sight of the sick child. She wished she had her magic to heal whatever ailment. She learned very quickly that magic didn't exist in this world.

"Excuse me, may I help you?" Epiphany asked.

Regina turned around. "Um, I'm with Dr. Westbourne. I'm visiting. I'm her cousin Regina."

"Well it's a pleasure to meet you," Epiphany said holding out her hand for Regina to shake. Regina shook it smiling. "I'm Epiphany Johnson. Head nurse at General Hospital."

"That sounds like a complicated job," Regina said.

Epiphany chuckled. "It can be. It's funny, Britt never mentioned a cousin. In fact she hasn't mentioned any family members."

"We don't see a lot of each other," Regina said. Britt came to the door.

"Epiphany, I see you've met my cousin."

"I was just explaining that we don't see each other a lot so that's why you haven't mentioned me," Regina explained.

"Yeah. Okay, we have to go. I have other patients to see," Britt said dragging Regina along.

"Is that child going to be alright?" Regina asked.

"We are trying to make that happen," Britt said.

"Can you make it happen faster?" Regina questioned.

"Sorry, I'm fresh out of magic," she whispered.

Regina scoffed. Britt rolled her eyes as she saw three other patients. They finally got to the nurse's desk.

Britt handed the charts to Felix. "I need these filed. Correctly by the way."

"Alright Britch," he shot back.

Regina arched an eyebrow. "What?"

"Nothing. It's Felix being his idiotic self," Britt said.

Felix turned around to argue but his attention was diverted at seeing Patrick and Sabrina together. He smiled.

Britt rolled her eyes and Regina turned around. She couldn't believe her eyes. She nudged Britt and tilted her head towards the couple.

"Yeah," she said walking away disgusted by the couple.

Regina turned to Felix. "Felix, may I say something?"

He shook his head. She turned on the sweetest of smiles. "If you say one negative word or call Britt out of her name, I will destroy you. Whatever she has done, I will make it look like child's play. Think about that before you belittle someone. Have a good say. See you around."

She walked leaving Felix stunned. She smiled wickedly as she got to the elevator. Britt looked up to see Felix's expression. Her eyes flickered to Regina.

"I just had a little fun with our friend Felix."

"Fun?"

Regina smirked. "I can be very welcoming," she teased.

Britt chuckled. "This is going to be fun."
