Three days of relentless plotting from her mother was driving Britt up the wall. She was trying to persuade Britt to get pregnant with Patrick's child. And for three days Regina listened to Britt tell her tale of sorrows.

"Well dear, you know you can't go through with this. It's going to blow up in your face," Regina said as she and Britt were watching tv.

"Try telling my mother that," Britt muttered.

"I will," she replied and Britt's eyes widened.

"Regina, no."

"It's the least I can do and I'm tired of you whining," she said. The next time you mother comes blasting her insane plan again I'll have my say."

That afternoon Regina kept her word. She told Britt to stay in the back while Regina sat in the chair giving off her queenly disposition.

She heard the knock and let Liesl in. "Where is my daughter?"

"She's out. I wanted to talk to you though," Regina said. She walked back to the chair and Liesl sat. "I know about this plan to trap this Patrick and it's brilliant really. Men can be so clueless."

"Thank you. At least one of Britta's friends realizes my genius," she responded.

Regina tilted her head. "Yes. You have quite the mind. However, there's one problem. It won't work. It won't work because your Britta isn't going to do it. She's tired of you meddling in her life just because you want to impress somebody. She is not your toy."

"How dare you-

Regina let out a cackle. "No dear. How dare you? You pretend to love your daughter but she is nothing but a stepping stone for whatever higher purpose you have cooked up in your mind. She doesn't need your approval nor does she want it. You are setting her up to fail and I doubt you care."

"You know nothing," Liesl spat.

"I know plenty," she said. She got up scowling. "You think you may be some powerful woman who can pull strings. Act like everybody is your puppet but I am greater and more powerful than you can imagine. I love Britt like a sister and I will protect her." She dropped her voice dangerously low. "Even if it means I have to kill you. Trust me, I have my ways and I won't be stupid enough to have it traced back to me. The choice is yours."

Liesl was dumbfounded. Regina saw her getting ready to protest but she clamped her hand over her mouth. "I mean it. Either you behave like a normal human being or I will make sure you never see Britta again. No doubt she would even care," she whispered harshly.

She let go. "It was nice talking to you. We should do it again sometime. Now…get out. You are the last person she wants to see."

She left and Britt came around the corner. "Wow. That was-

"A reality check. Too bad I didn't have my magic to really scare her," Regina finished. "I think she will back off."

"I hope so. Thank you. If I told her what you just said, she'd do her best to punish me."

"Having mothers like ours is enough," Regina countered. Britt smirked.

"Britt, I have to go now."

"What? Why?" she asked.

"I have a kingdom to run," she said. "This was fun while it lasted."

"Yeah it was," Britt said. "Can I at least give you a hug?"

"Of course," Regina said. They hugged and Regina left.

Suddenly Britt felt a head rush and laid down on the couch.

The alarm sounded and Britt shot out of bed falling off of it. She looked at her alarm clock. It was late.

"It was all a dream," Britt whispered.
