Peak Ch. 4

…Heya. *crickets chirp* I've got nothin to say.

Oh, wait! Warning: a homosexual relationship will be a major plot point later in the story. I'm hoping that people who don't like some of the pairings I put in this will read regardless, but if not, aw well. I won't reveal any yet, but I'm not a shipper of one of them.

Ash had forgotten how big Goldenrod had been.

The city bustled by, shouting to the sky, lighting up as the sun went down. Foot traffic was thick, as it was a lovely evening. The dusk was gathering, bathing everything in a lavender light. The warm air was humid, and cooling down as the day ended and the moon rose. Even the city air seemed to smell wonderful among the peaceful mood.

Ash was never known to be 'peaceful' and 'calm'.

"So, where's this Gold anyway?" People on the other side of the street shook their heads in annoyance at the loud teen.

"Anyone can tell you that." A raven haired girl with serious gray eyes answered him. A Grovyle stood next to her, looking anxious. It grumbled something. "Yeah, I know we should hurry, but this guy needs help. He might not be right in the head." She turned back to Ash. "Gold works at the Pokemon Day Care. He's a genius with eggs, people come from all over just to have him raise the eggs." She nodded, and started to stride away, but she brushed against Green.

She crumpled to the ground, Grovyle rushing over to her, curiosity etched on his face. After a few seconds, she stood back up, straightening her jeans and tee shirt. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'll tell you later. However," she searched Green's face. "You should be careful. You have a tough time ahead of you."

And with that, she walked off, chatting with her Grovyle.

Green looked weirded out, and commented, "She might be the one not right in the head."

"Hey, Senior. Hey, Super Serious Gal!" A man with raven hair, metallic yellow eyes, and a mischievous smile strolled over, a hand in the air. "What can I do for ya? And who's your companion?"

Crystal suppressed a smile. "This is Ash Ketchum. He's part of the reason we're here." She glanced around. "Slacking as usual, I see." True to her words, all of what must be Gold's pokemon were doing his work around the center, and Ash could see the blinking of a video game through the window.

"I wouldn't call it slacking…"

"Gold, I'm sorry, but we're not here to catch up. Do you remember what happened to you on Mt. Silver?" Green's face was stony. Gold's had become equally distant.

"Why? Those aren't good memories. You have a lead on where Red is?"

"No, but Ash here was stupid and climbed the mountain. The person wiped the floor with him." Green glanced at Ash expectantly, and the boy took the hint and started relaying his experience.

"I don't remember anything new, if that's what you're looking at me for."

Crys sighed. "Yeah, didn't ring any bells with me either."

Green scowled, growling in frustration. "I guess we'll need to head to Yellow, then. Gold, you coming?"

Once they were again on the train, Crys grabbed Ash's hand, dragging him over to Gold. "We all know each other's stories except him yours. Start talking."

Gold opened his mouth to protest, but then glanced over at Green, who looked grumpy enough already.

"… fine, but only because senior Green woke up on the wrong side of the bed…"

In a word, Gold was furious. In multiple, Gold was filled with hate and rage about what that person did to Super Serious Gal. And, if you looked between the lines, what the person did to senior Red.

This person seemed pretty unpredictable, though. But Gold was a better battler than Crys was at battling. He'd get this guy.

There! Where senior Red usually hung out! But, boy, Crystal sure wasn't exaggerating when she said it was a full-force blizzard. Gold was no meteorologist, but he was pretty sure the storm should've blown itself out by now.

Red's campfire was out. His camp-cave was dark, no signs of life.

Gold took out his Typhlosion. "Hey! Whoever you are, I don't care, get over here! I'm going to beat you so badly, you're going to wish you had never been born! Where are you, you b-"

The person's blurry outline had appeared, as well as the strangely clear form of the Espeon.

"Blast burn!" And the battle began.

"My team was swept. Badly. I don't know what happened after, all I remember is a major headache, and… I woke up at Crys' house." Gold locked eyes with Ash, strangely serious. "That guy is dangerous.

"Don't trust him."

So, Yellow is appearing next chapter! And then the plot will really start rolling.

Also, that girl wasn't an OC. She was a cameo appearance. The Grovyle is important.

Hint as to who she is: she doesn't have a cannon gender. I just chose. And this is before the plot line of the game she makes her appearance in.

Shout-out and one-shot request to the first to get it!
