"Sakura if you are scared to take a chance you will be stuck at the same place your whole life." Ino said while sipping her coffee. Sakura had called Ino for girl to girl talk. After the realization she had Sakura needed some support and advice:"You really think so?" she asked. Ino took some time before answering:"Of course I do. Look you really did make some bad decisions in the past when it comes to love but you have to put all of that behind you and move on. Honestly think about this are you really ready to spend your whole life alone as you claim?" Sakura began to think on those words. Ever since she lost Daichi she had stood firm on he believes that she doesn't need a man in her life but now she began to realize. Did she really want to come back to an empty house every night, having no one to talk to and no one to take care of? The thought made her feel lonely already:"I guess I was talking too much again." Ino reached across the table and grabbed her hand:"Sakura heartbreak and failed relationships is path every woman has to walk on. I mean for example look at Hinata. She was in love with Naruto for such a long time. And during that time the idiot never noticed those feelings." Sakura smiled at the thought of how ignorant her blond friend was sometimes but Ino was right at one point:"Don't you think that I had already passed that road two times. I lost Sasuke I lost Daichi my heart went through so much pain and hurt. What if it can't take more?"Ino leaned back in her chair with a face that indicated thinking:"Well if you go through that again there is only one thing you can do. You can make it your life mission to break men's hearts." Both of them burst in laugh but Sakura had to admit the idea was not that bad.
Kakashi had to admit that there was one thing he hated about this village and that was gossip. Only a week after he and Sakura had started seeing each other half of their friends knew. The important news wasn't travelling as fast as the news about someone's relationship or someone's break up. When he met up with Genma the first he asked him was:"So how are things going with your lady?" Kakashi took a deep breath before he answered:"I was on a mission for two weeks and we haven't seen each other during that period. Is this the only thing you can ask me?" Genma laughed at him and made his towards Kakashi's couch:"What can I tell you Kakashi. The fact that someone finally captured Sakura for their own is hot news among the shinobi. I got to tell you when I was at the hospital the other day the whole ER was buzzing about this."
Kakashi shook his head while making his way to the kitchen to prepare some coffee:"I guess some things never change. What about you and Shizune? Is it going well?" Genma looked down at his arms so he can hide his smile but Kakashi saw through it:"He also has it bad." Then Genma looked up at started explaining:"I wish I would have known sooner you know. Because for the first time I feel amazing. I haven't felt like this with a woman in a really long time and I love it." Kakashi chuckled:"My friend you could have gotten that sooner if you just had opened your eyes six months ago." Genma threw a questioning look at his friend but Kakashi decided to leave him figure it by himself. He came back to the table with two cups of coffee and when he took his seat Genma turned to him:"So you didn't tell me about you and Sakura. How are things?" Kakashi leaned back in the couch and answered while picking up his coffee:"Still stuck at the same place. I realized that I have feelings for her but the conditions she enforced on me are keeping from making a step forward."
Genma fell silent for a moment thinking what to answer. He wanted to give his friend a good advice but only one thing came to his mind:"Just give her time. That is all she needs." Kakashi took a sip of the hot black liquid and thought:"Yeah time. Time is always a good medicine for any kind of disease."
Ever since she started working the hospital Sakura despised only one thing and that was the night shifts. She was bored waiting at her office awake and when she would go to lay down in rest room she would woken up because there is patient waiting for her. The only thing to do was keep herself busy with anything. So tonight she decided to clean her office and rearrange all of her files. While doing so she couldn't help but go back to the conversation she had with Ino today. At one point Ino was right but then Sakura thought:"What if he doesn't feel the same way as I do? Then my heart will surely be broken." She let out a single sight and wondered how things had suddenly become so complicated. She was finished with the folders so she just set herself in her chair with a cup of hot coffee and looked at the full pale moon in the sky through the window.
She remembered their first night together and smiled at the memory. She was taken away by a knock on the door:"Yes?" she said expecting to be a nurse but to her surprise a messy silver head popped from behind the door. He entered slowly:"I thought you might be bored. You are always saying that the night shifts are such a drag." She smiled back at him trying to remember when she had said that. He came to her desk and pulled the chair which she used when examining someone and sat in front of her. He took the time to look around and then asked:"Did you clean or the cleaning lady?" That sentence made her chuckle. She got up and went to him; sitting in his lap she locked her hands behind his neck and leaned her head on his shoulder. She felt his hand creeping on her thigh but then it stopped on her waist and she felt the light squeeze. Just as she was going to move and kiss his lips there was a light knock on the door.
Startled she pressed her fingers to her lips and went to see who it was. She cracked the door open only to find the nurse who was keeping an eye on the ER:"Excuse me Haruno-san but a team just returned from their mission and two of them are heavily injured. Also they have a Kumogakure shinobi with them and I am not sure how do we proceed with him." Sakura told her that she will be there in five minutes. When she turned around she saw Kakashi sitting on the window frame ready to leave:"I am sorry you came all the way here for nothing and also this late at night." He looked down at the distance and then replied while looking in her eyes:"It wasn't for nothing. I am just glad I saw you. You can come over to my place once you got your rest from this shift." And with that he disappeared into the night leaving her smiling in middle of her office. She spun on her heels and made her towards the ER:"Now it's time to see the patients and also straighten the problem with the Kumo shinobi."
When Kakashi got to his apartment he suddenly felt really tired. He took one look at the bathroom door and said to himself:"I guess it can wait until the morning". He quickly undressed and settled himself in his bed taking a deep breath. Before he fell asleep he tried to imagine Sakura healing the last patients. He knew what her face looked like when concentrated on her chakra flow and also when she was searching for the correct information in her mind. He had seen that face so many times that he came to admire it. He realized that his affection for her was growing with each day and before slumber finally took him he said to himself:"I will not give up without a fight for you Sakura."
Sakura had finished the work on the patients and was heading back to her office so she can send someone to the Hokage tower and notify the Hokage of the situation. She sat behind her desk and started scribbling down the information she had gotten from the shinobi team and also the data on the Kumo shinobi when she stopped and smiled at the thought that Kakashi had come so late tonight just to keep her company. She knew for a fact that the man loved his sleep and to tear himself from it was a really big thing. In her mind she couldn't wait to go to his apartment tomorrow night and show him her appreciation.
