I do not own anything from Dawn of the Arcana/Reimei no Arcana or any of the songs that I mix in with the fanfic. I am just your average manga reader that wishes I could have been a part of the adventure but with a little imagination and a stroke of the keys… I can be. J I hope you guys enjoy!

Even when Rainy had fallen back to sleep, there wasn't another dream of the bear-ajin-boy. She woke up to a pleasant coffee smell in her room, and the usual two smiling faces of her maid and butler. Of course the usual coffee had quickly washed away the sleeping sand from her eyes and she was starting to get ready for the day. Today though, the female maid was looking at the floor with troubling thoughts pressing against her forehead.

The maid was being clumsy and distant as Rainy stopped and asked her, "Hey… hey are you okay?"

The maid was an elder maid, her hair was turning more white then the original chestnut hairs, wrinkles were present on her face and hands which were deepened more than usual as she said, "Well… your highness… it's just…"

Rainy placed her brush on the dresser and had gently guided the maid to sit next to her to comfort her, "What is wrong Maryanne?"

The maid head looked at Rainy and began to explain, "I'm not sure if it's tomorrow or today… but we are going to have some Lithuanel guests come over… and…"

Rainy's eyes widen and slowly realizing what was about to happen but continued to listen politely to the elder maid, "… and they want to… to dye that poor girl's hair."

Rainy looked outside to see the sun and quickly asked, "When? When does this happen?"

Maryanne silent at first when her butler, James, responded, "I believe she was just summoned to the majesties throne room…"

Rainy and finished brushing her hair, determination in her eyes as she thought, "I have to make sure Nakaba gets through this… this has to happen…"

Rainy was rushing to get ready as the James, a bit older than Rainy but maybe by only a few years, "Ma'am… what… why are you rushing? No one can stop the king and queen…"

Rainy sighed and looked at James, his eyes wishing she could stop the process and it broke Rainy's heart that she was actually not stopping the situation..., "I'm sorry, James. But I am going to make sure it all happens like it is supposed to."

Was what Rainy wanted to honestly tell James, but again she knew that it would make her sound crazy and a monster so she responded, "I'm just going to see if there is anything I can do, James."

James looked at Maryanne with a look of defeat, and Maryanne spoke, "Just… just be careful your highness."

Rainy had rushed to the throne room and stopped right in front of the door, she had took a deep breath and thought, "All right… this is it."

Rainy had opened the doors and walked down the cold pavement. Rainy had noticed the lush red carpet that was usually rolled out to the thrones was gone. The king and queen were sitting at their appropriate thrones, the queen with the look of vindictive and yet pleased look while the king was like a permanent stone, unchanged. Prince Cain and his fiancé, Louise, was standing to the side completely lost. Rainy looked at Prince Cain just for a second, hoping he would just for one second put a stop to this whole mess even though Rainy knew this had to happen.

"My dear! What are you doing here?" Rainy looked up to see the Queen had asked, surprised as if she was hoping to see someone else.

Rainy had quickly curtsied with a smile on her face as she said, "I thought it would be good to say good morning to your majesties every morning."

The Queen was just about to respond with a smile on her face, when Rainy heard the door open behind her, she had turned and saw the guards took their place next to the trio walking in…

Rainy couldn't help but look at the ground and away from Nakaba's eyesight as if she was betraying her and couldn't help but mumble to herself, "I am… so sorry…"

The Queen had pointed to Rainy and kindly waved her over next to Prince Cain, "Princess Rainy. Please be a dear and stand next to Prince Cain." Almost immediately there was a sense of wicked joy that twinkled in the queen's eyes as she said, "We have to fix a problem, temporarily."

Rainy had bowed to the royal heads, as she slowly walked next to Prince Cain, her fist clenched tightly. Prince Cain had noticed Rainy's jerking movements as she stood next to him as he tried to ask what was wrong… but the mocking begun.

The guards had her locked in their arms and at the whim of the queen, the maids had quickly gathered around Nakaba with buckets of black dye. Rainy wanted to scream. Rainy wanted to jump across the room and get Nakaba to stand up again. Most importantly, Rainy wanted to smack the living crap out of the Queen. From her right ear, she heard stifled giggles tickle her ear drum, and from her peripherals she saw Louise giggling at the frantic scene.

Rainy knew she didn't play a role in this event as she turned her head and hissed, "How rude of you… laughing at someone else's misery."

Prince Cain was just about to say something and Louise stood in shock at Rainy words. Rainy had quickly turned her head back to the front of the thrones and watched as Prince Caesar takes the stand. Rainy's heart started to pump with excitement instead of angry as she began to shout in her mind, "All right Nakaba! Get back up! Show them what you are made of! Show them you aren't going to take this shit!"

You could definitely hear each slice of the hair slice against the sharp sword, almost like fire crackers, as Caesar slashed against his black hair. This act was starting to get Rainy's blood pumped as she even started to whisper, "Get up… Get up…"

Rainy watched as Loki was cradling Princess Nakaba in tears. At first, Princess Nakaba had watched Prince Caesar take his stand before his mother and father and then she had looked at Loki. And just for one second… Princess Nakaba had saw Rainy. Rainy was staring so intently at Princess Nakaba and just ready for her to stand up. And then the disappointment settled into Rainy as she even heard Nakaba mumble, "…Change… takes…time…"

She watched as Nakaba start to curl in Loki's arms and without a second thought Rainy ran up to Nakaba and started to shout, "Get up!"

Everyone was staring at her in the room as Rainy stared angrily and intently at Nakaba as she yelled once more, "Get… UP!"

Nakaba had looked up at Rainy as she asked, "But you said things change slowly… I just have to let things happen…"

Rainy had fell on one knee as she clasped Nakaba's hand and said, "Yes. Things change slowly. Nothing happens over night without a doubt. But things DO change… because there is a force that demands the change to happen tomorrow."

Rainy could see the doubt in Nakaba's eyes as Rainy whispered, "We may all be individuals in this crazy messed up world. But if there is anyone in this world that can make a change, it is YOU. You came here so strong, willing to die for what you believe in… don't stop now! This is where it starts! Prince Caesar, Loki, Rito… we ALL got your back on this!"

Nakaba's green eyes had stared back in Rainy, digesting the words as she Queen asked, "What is Princess Rainy doing?"

Rainy had stood up with her hand out and said, "You got this."

Princess Nakaba had wiped a tear out of her eyes, as she nodded. Nakaba had grabbed Rainy's hand as they both worked to get her to stand up. Loki also began to stand up and looked at Rainy in a new light. Princess Nakaba had the look of determination that Rainy was ready for. And Rainy couldn't help but smile, just a little bit, as she watched Princess Nakaba hack at her hair. Piece of by piece, black strands were falling around the King's throne.

Needless to say Rainy was escorted back to her room and temporarily locked in. Rainy was laying down in her bed as the maid and butler had scurries back in, bringing in small sandwiches because her "grounding" was even past lunch.

James had looked at Rainy and asked, "I am not trying to be pressing your highness…"

Rainy had sat up in the bed as she said, "I told you guys to knock off the highness thing."

James quickly stood up straight as he said, "Do you forget you are royalty?"

Rainy had looked at James in surprise as he continued to angrily vent, "You are royalty! Going against the majesties and looking like you began to plot the hair slicing on the king's lap… Why are you doing this? Why are you stirring up this… this trouble?!"

Maryanne had quietly and gently placed a hand on James's hand to calm him down as she looked over to Rainy and explained, "Please do not take offence to what James is saying… it is… we are just worried about you."

Rainy continued to listen as the kind lady continued, "It has been the first time a royalty member has been so kind to us. Almost like family instead of "above us." We treasure you…"

James gloved hands had tighten as he said, "If anything happened to you…"

Rainy got up from the bed and stood in front of Maryanne, "Hey! Hey! Guys! Nothing happened and I sure as hell didn't tell Nakaba to do that! Though it was pretty cool… And be honest with yourselves… didn't you wish someone would have said something?"

Rainy forced to look at James's dark brown eyes as he sighed and began to relax his body, "Yes… yes I wished someone would say something…" immediately he looked at Rainy, "But I didn't want to be at the risk of you…"

Rainy had placed her hand on the butler's arm as she smiled and said, "I know you guys see me as a Princess… but I am a lot tougher then you think…" but she grabbed the two into a tight embrace as she said, "But I am seriously glad you guys are here. Thank you. And I promise I will be much more careful."

The butler and maid had hugged Rainy back as Maryanne explained, "Just know to us you are family. If there is anything you need, you always have us. I know you are royalty and it doesn't mean much…"

Rainy had pulled back and said, "Are you serious?! That means a TON to me! Thank you guys!"

The maid and butler went back to organizing the room and cleaning, until there was a knock at the door and there stood was Prince Cain immediately asking, "What did you tell Princess Nakaba."

Rainy had glared at Cain and responded, "If you are asking if I told her to jump up in front of the King and slice the black hair off her… that was not me."

Cain got in Rainy's face quickly as he said, "Then what did you tell her?"

Rainy once again had shoved Cain out of her way as she begun to shout, "I just told her to get up!"

The maid had quickly begun to push the butler out of the room, even though his fists were clenched once more but he had walked out of the room.

Cain was glaring at Rainy as he said, "Why are you making this difficult now?"

Rainy had her hands in a fist herself as she angrily said, "Well excuse me for being difficult! Excuse me for thinking what happened was just god damn dumb! And what the hell is wrong with you? I mean you should empathize with Nakaba the most because of your blonde hair!"

Cain had immediately brought his arm up to slap Rainy across the face, but she had quickly yelled, "AND YOU KNOW IT! You can get mad at me aaaallll you want. But with you standing there… not reacting or even god damn caring… you know what that tells me? That tells me what your character is…. Even IF you had black hair!"

His arm was in mid-air and it had begun to shake as she said, "I never cared if you have blonde hair… but what I care and how I personally judge a person is by their action. You know that! And yet… you just fuckin' stood there."

Rainy thought he was going to bring his hand across her face, and she cringed against it. Waiting for the pain and the assault she was planning back against him. But after a few seconds there was nothing. Rainy had opened her eyes as she looked at Cain, his hand still in mid-air. He tightened his hand, and for one split second Rainy thought instead of a slap it was a punch, and had brought his arm back down to his side.

Cain had looked away at Rainy as he said, "I told the majesties of good word on my behalf. Told them that you were telling her to get up and that you felt sorry for her… that your intent was not to shame them. So far the Queen loves you and wishes for you to continue being around the castle…"

Cain had turned as he said, "I also feel you should apologize to Louise for your comment."

Rainy raised an eyebrow as she said, "Ya'…. Probably not happening."

Rainy then found herself against the wall in her room with Cain's hands on her wrists as she heard him whisper, "I don't understand you."

Rainy had begun to wriggle underneath his power as he tightened his hold and said, "Ever sense you have been here… you have this hold on me. Even with my fiancé… I told her that she was being petty…"

Rainy had looked at Cain straight in the eye as she said, "Good! Least you manned up to something!"

Cain had gritted his teeth as he asked, "How?! How is it you can get under my skin so easily?"

Rainy continued to glare at Cain as he explained, "This whole time I have been so controlling of my emotions towards everyone! And yet… you… you just…"

He had let Rainy go as she grasped her own wrist and started to massage them as she said, "It's probably because I have been honest to you this whole time… and probably the ONLY person alive to be honest with you."

Rainy was massaging her wrists when he actually noticed they were slightly red from his grasp, and he had immediately told hold of her hands gently and apologized, "I am… I am so sorry… this wasn't my intent…"

Rainy had slightly flinched when he tried to touch her again, but she sighed and said, "I'm fine. I shouldn't have snapped at you either… I doubt anyone could have stopped the king and queen."

Rainy had sighed as she placed her hand back to her side as she sat on the bed, "I'm really sorry for making you mad… jeeze it seems that's the only thing I can do for you."

Cain smiled as he took a seat next to her on the bed, "That's not true. You did bring up a good point. You are very honest with me… and sometimes honest things are not always pleasant things."

Rainy crossed her arms and sat on the bed, almost in a childish defiance and said, "I am still not apologizing to your fiance. You know what she was did was wrong..."

Cain sighed as he said, "Its more and more evident that you are a soldier and not a royalty..."

Rainy was about to argue when he held up his hand slightly to politely silence her as he explained, "Being a royal member... Everything is political and always a second motive. As a soldier... You get the mission done one way or another. There isn't time to waste so you have to accomplish your goals the most efficient way."

Rainy sat on the bed quietly, and said, "Look... I am sorry. I am taking this whole situation and I'm not being serious enough as a... Princess."

Cain looked at Rainy as she continued to stare at the floor, "But... I really don't think being a royal member means you have to have a second motive for everything. I think there is a time and place to be honest and foreward. True, I don't think policy makers should "burn bridges" but I think that can be determined with tact."

Rainy sighed as she said, "And I didn't have any tact with her... Uuurrrgg... That means I do have to apologize!"

Rainy fell back on her bed with her legs up in the air like child with her cheeks puffy and Cain laughing, "Thank you Rainy."

Cain stood up from the bed and started to head out the door, he was just about to say something when he just smiled and walked out of the door. Rainy laid in the bed in defeat and also slightly angry with herself, knowing she had to apologize.

After sometime of being angry with herself (which in reality was probably only a few seconds), she angrily stood up from her bed and decided to just get lost in the tower. James had attempted to stop her when she was outside of the room, but Maryanne pulled him back and shook her head. Rainy stomped her way throughout the castle, mumbling angrily to herself.

Rainy scoffed and said, "Its just bullshit that I have to apologize... She was being such a bitch and she needed to be reminded of it!"

Rainy had raised a fist to an invisible stranger when she heard from behind her, "You know if it wasn't for Princess Nakaba doing that I would be concerned."

Rainy had turned her head and saw Loki standing there, and she let out am embarressed laugh as she responded, "Hehe... Yeah..."

Loki standing in his royal gaurd uniform had bowed as Rainy said, "Oh no no! You don't have to do that at all..."

Again Loki looked at her so confusing as he asked, "You are a strange royal member. It is almost you really don't care about your title..."

Rainy weakly raised her hand out as she laughed, "Oh haha... Yeah well... Umm... You see..."

Loki took a step closer to Rainy as he asked, "Its almost like you are not a royal member at all..."

Rainy was starting to back up against the wall as Loki continued to step closer, "...or either that you have other intentions. Tell me... What are your intentions here? What do you want from Princess Nakaba?"

Rainy felt her back against the wall as he leaned over her, his eyes staring down at hers. Her thoughts felt like she was restricted to a tiny box as she fumbled through her brain for some kind of realistic answer for him. Its agitating because she could tell him the whole truth, but only a crazy person would believe her.

Rainy did the only thing she could do, she had quickly dropped to the ground and tumbled inbetween his leg, she had tried to reach for his sword as soon as she was curled behind him, but because of his ajin reflexes he had already turned around his hand on his hilt. She was crouching on the floor staring at the ajin in the eye and still trying ot get some kind of thought forming in her head... "Well... Honesty is the best policy..."

Rainy had stood up and said, "Look I am here to help Princess Nakaba the best way I can."

Loki had quickly said, "Why?"

Rainy's eyes went wide as she thought, "Oh shit... I was not expecting that."

Loki's eyes were glaring as Rainy stood up from her crouched position and said, "I can't... I can't explain. All I can tell you is that my intent is to do the best I can for her. That I am trying my hardest to make her dream a reality."

Loki had stood normally, his hand away from the hilt of the sword as he said, "I... I apologize for my actions. I just do not trust royal members."

Rainy shrugged slowly walked her way up to Loki and said, "I really don't blame you. But I promise you... I do not have the intent of hurting Princess Nakaba..."

Rainy looked Loki straight in the eye as she made her promise and if she didn't know any better, she saw a small smile form on his lips. But he had quickly turned away and started walking ahead of Rainy.

Rainy had asked, "Where is Princess Nakaba by the way?"

Loki turned to Rainy and answered, "She is... With Prince Cesaer."

Rainy had placed her head down and quietly said, "Oh..."

Rainy started to shuffle her feet a little as she started to look up and down the halls, Loki had sensed her confusion and looked at her equally confused.

Loki had then asked, "Are you alright?"

Rainy had placed a hand behind her head and replied, "Yeah... But umm... Where am I?"

Loki had let a small smile slip on his lips again as he responded, "Follow me. I can escourt you back to your room."

Rainy had hung her head in defeat as she said, "...this didn't happen."

Loki had to scoff a little as he said, "Of course not your highness."
