Epilogue

Author's note: Hi everybody! As promised here is the epilogue. This scene is in Season 3 Episode 12- New York Serenade- where everyone has been sent back to the Enchanted Forest, are making their way to the castle and Snow has found Regina burying her heart in the woods to stop feeling the pain of losing Henry. Snow convinces Regina to put her heart back, as, while it may be painful now, it will allow her to feel happiness later.

As Regina placed her heart back into her chest, she felt her despair fill her once more.

She wasn't sure why she followed Snow White's advice. How could she hope to find happiness if she was separated from her son? Regina had hope for happiness many time over in her life. Daniel, Robin, the Curse, Henry... but now, once again, her happiness had been taken away from her, as the price for saving their memories in this new curse.

"Now," she said as she gathered herself to return to the group. "Let's get back to our castle."

As she passed by Snow, she could swear a proud smile was gracing her former enemy's face, but she couldn't dwell on that for long.

"Did you hear that?"

Regina turned to see Snow scanning the nearby foliage.

"There was something there," Snow insisted. "In that bush."

Regina strode forward to look, but found nothing.

"There's nothing here," she said quietly, thinking, 'unless it flew away."

"It did!"

Regina turned as a screech sounded from above and what appeared to be a flying monkey dived down upon them.

Turning Snow ran towards the trees.

"We need to find cover!" She said urgently, but Regina stood her ground.

"No," she announced. "I don't run from monsters: They run from me."

In moments a fireball materialised in her hand, and she launched it in the direction of their flying attacker, who surprisingly avoided it with ease.

As the monkey swooped towards them, Regina slipped on the loose debris that covered the forest floor.

"Regina!" Snow called in concern.

Screeching filled the air and Regina felt sharp claws piercing her arm as the flying monkey attempted to lift her into the air. As Regina resisted the pull, dark red streaks ripped across her skin as the claws drew blood.

"Regina!" Snow screamed, as she added her weight to the Flying monkey's load, causing them both to fall out of it's grasp and onto the forest floor.

"It's too fast," Snow commented fearfully.

"Well, I'm open to suggestions," Regina shot back as the monkey lined itself up for another dive.

"Get down!" A voice called.

As the monkey shot towards them, Regina and Snow ducked as an arrow shot over their heads, striking the flying monkey in the torso.

Screeching and screaming in pain, the flying monkey, though injured, appeared remarkably resilient, but still, it turned and retreated back from whence it came.

Snow and Regina were breathing heavily as they watched the strange shape of the creature flying away.

"Milady," a voice greeted. "You're injured."

"It's You're Majesty," Regina corrected in annoyance as she turned to see a hand held out towards her. "And I'm..." her eyes widened when she spied the owner of the hand "... fine."

The man standing before her smiled.

"Regina?"

"Robin?"

She took the hand offered her as Snow got to her feet, looking curiously from Robin to Regina.

"You two know each other?" She asked.

"Robin of Loxley," he introduced himself. "And these are a few of my Merry Men."

"Snow White," Snow gave her name.

"At last we meet," Robin nodded before his gaze returned to Regina. "And at last, we meet again," he continued for softly. "Fate, while cruel, can also be kind. It seems this is the latter."

Regina could see the wheels turning in Snow's head, and drew herself up as regally as she could.

"I told you I'd see you again," she told Robin surely.

Robin smiled slowly.

"Yes," he whispered, "you did indeed, Milady."

Author's note: And the rest, as they say, is history! Or in this case: a Fairy-Tale.

See? They do get to be together, they both get their second chance, I just don't think that the past was the right time, due to all the obstacles they would've had to face and the repercussions of events not playing out as they should.

But now they are free to be together, as fate has put them in each other's path once more.

Yay! Long Live OutawQueen!

They're going to have their Happily Ever After now, I know it. Henry will love the idea of having Roland for a little brother (when he gets his memories back) and what twelve year old boy wouldn't want Robin Hood as a stepfather?
