POV:Rose
It was officially the worst day of the week, it was Sunday. Only two other family members had come to talk to me and Scorpius about our situation. And they were Potters. Lily and Al. Apparently after my mum had left our house, she had gone straight to Aunt Ginny and told her everything. That's why no other family members had come to talk to us. Ginny had given them all very strict orders that when we were ready, we would come and talk to the family. Al and Lily had been at their parent's when my mum had shown up. After promptly being shooed out of the room, they had, of course, listened in at the door. After hearing about everything that had happened, they were relieved at the news that I was fine, but wanted to hear my version of everything.
"Lily? Al?" I pulled the door open. Lily didn't say anything, she just threw her arms around my neck. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Oh Rose, I can't believe it! How are you feeling?"
"Well you know, I'm hanging in there."
"Just so you know, I totally respect your decision not to tell anyone yet. I mean, you tell one family member, the entire family ends up knowing."
The two of them proceeded to ask me all sorts of questions about what had happened at St.M's and after, about what had happened with mum.
"So, what's your plan?" Al asked.
"I'm not sure yet, I really don't know. Should go to talk to mum, or if I should wait for her to come back to me?"
"I don't know either Rosie, I try hard never to annoy any Weasley women, because that usually doesn't work out well for anyone." Al shrugged.
"Great advice." I replied sarcastically.
"You're coming on Sunday, right?" Lily pulled out of our hug, to stare me straight in the face. "You promised Nana you would start coming to Sunday dinners, and if you don't, we'll never hear the end of it. You should hear how she goes on about Roxanne. She hasn't been to one for months, and that's all Nana'll ever talk about how, her grandchildren are deserting her."
"Mum practically forces all her kids to go." Al added. "Although she's given James some freedom since him and Charlotte made their announcement. I swear, I decided I was to tired to go a few weeks ago, and Mum literally apparated into my room, shoved me out of bed, and apparated me back with her."
I laughed, that sounded exactly like Aunt Ginny.
"Speaking of Mum, she's taking Charlotte and I out to lunch today and then we're going baby shopping." Lily rolled her eyes. " Have you seen Charlotte lately? She's huge. In all honesty I don't really like going out with her anymore. She's always getting tired to quickly, and doesn't like half the places we go to eat, even though she'll pick them out five minutes before. Pregnancy has not done well with her. Well, my point was, we should be heading back, but I just wanted to pop in and make sure you were okay."
I hugged the two of them and they were gone. It had been a short visit, but I loved any amount of time I could spend with the Potters. They always had been and always would be my favorite cousins.
Lily had made a really good point, I was expected at this Sunday night dinner, I might as well go, I needed to confront this situation sooner or later.
I knocked lightly on the door to the burrow, nervousness twisting around my stomach. Scorpius squeezed my hand from where he was standing next to me. Grandpa was the one who pulled open the door.
"Rose!" he exclaimed. "How are you?"
"I'm good grandpa, how about you? I haven't seen you in forever."
"I've been good, sort of the same old, same old. The house can get a little boring sometimes but I do some work at the ministry when they need me."
"Well aren't you still collecting muggle things? When we were kids, you were always working on your collection."
"Well now that you mention it! I was actually just working on this new device it's called a oh-a well I forget the name, but you wouldn't imagine, muggles use it for drying their hair,"
"A hair dryer?" I prompted.
"That's it! That's what it's called, I fancy at a bit of a funny name, you would think they would come up with something a little more creative." He chuckled to himself, muttering what sounded like 'silly muggles' under his breath.
"Oh Arthur! Don't hog my granddaughter! It feels like it's been ages since I've seen you two." Nana looked me up and down as she pushed past her husband, and pulled me into the arms.
"Scorpius! Looking handsome as usual." She threw her arms around Scorpius and ushered us into the house. "Come inside, you guys must be starving. Your Aunt Ginny and I made a delicious meal tonight." The only people that had already arrived were Aunt Ginny who was sitting on the couch, wine glass in hand talking to my mother and, Uncle Harry and Dad, who were leaning against the wall talking about, reckoning from the slightly raised voices, quidditch. Talk about an awkward situation. When we came in, I glanced at Mum, who avoided eye contact with me and I promptly ran into Dad's arms.
"Hey daddy." I mumbled against his chest.
He just held me close. Dad wasn't a man of many words, so whenever he said something close to sentimental, I always treasured it. So when he leaned down and whispered in my ear, tears sprank to my eyes.
"I love you Rosie. I hope you know I'll always be there for you."
He squeezed me against his chest. "I love you Rose."
"I love you to dad."
He wasn't an emotional one either. The moment anything started to get soppy he changed the subject. In other words, the next thing he did was clear his throat and go on to talk about the Chudley Cannons, obviously what he had been talking about with Uncle Harry.
"Umm dad, I hate to interrupt you, but, I'll just be a second, I really need to find mum." When I had come in, she had been sitting on the couch with Aunt Ginny, but since then, the two of them had disappeared.
I was checking in Aunt Ginny's old room when I saw them through the window. Mum had wrapped herself in her sweater and was hugging her body with it. Aunt Ginny's hands were resting on mum's shoulder. As I watched the two of them, Ginny pulled my mum in to a hug. I watched as Ginny lead my mum to a bench in the garden and sat my mother down it. I saw her walk back into the house but she returned with my father a few seconds later.
I started back downstairs, and was about to slip outside when I heard a high pitch voice from behind me.
"Aunty Rosie! Aunty Rosie!" I turned to see little Ana running towards me, Victoire,Teddy, and little Tommy not far behind.
"Ana" I swung her off the floor and into my arms, "looking lovely as usual. How are you? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!"
"I'm pretty good. Actually, daddy told me he was going to teach me how to ride a broom tomorrow. I'm really excited, cause I've been waiting years. Mummy always said it was too dangerous, but she finally agreed to it this time. Tommy's really jealous, as you can image. He wants to do anything that I want to do."
"The same thing always happened with me and Hugo." I laughed.
"There's no way daddy I'll teach him yet, come, we'll ask him about it." She grabbed my hand and pulled me over to where her parents were standing talking to Nana.
"Daddy, Daddy, Daddy! Tell Rose about how you're going to teach me how to fly tomorrow." She pulled on Teddy's shirt until he looked away from his conversation.
"Ana, I'm trying to talk." Ana's smile faded
Molly interrupted him. "Oh Teddy, don't worry about it. Ana, what is this I hear about flying?" The smile that had momentarily left her face was back, as she proceeded to recount everything she had just told me to Nana.
"Well then, it's great to see you Rose!" Teddy asked.
"It's good to see you all to. Ana has grown quite a bit since I last saw her." I hugged both him and Victoire. "And so have you little guy." I said taking Tommy from Victoire's arms. You are quite the strapping young man."
"I'll say. It's amazing how fast time can fly when you become a parent." Teddy nodded.
"Speaking of" Victoire blushed, and cast a glance at Teddy. "If you don't mind me asking, how far along are you?"
"Well I guess it's not much of a secret anymore. I'm about eight weeks."
"Ohhh." Victoire shuddered. "That was the worst time for me, I remember the morning sickness was horrible with Ana, not so much Tommy though."
We talked all about things after that. What had happened at St.M's, pregnancy, kids. We were interrupted when Tommy started whining. Victoire said he needed to eat something and they excused themselves to the kitchen.
That's when I remembered I still had some unfinished business with Mum, I headed outside to look for her. She was still sitting on the bench with my dad.
"Mum?" Both my parents looked up, Mum hurriedly wiping the tears from under her eyes away with her sleeve.
"Can I talk to mum alone, dad?"
When mum nodded her approval, Dad kissed both of us on the forehead before walking back inside.
"Mum, are you okay?" I took dad's place next to her.
"I'm sorry Rose, I'm sorry I yelled at you the way that I did, you just really scared me. I didn't know how to feel about the whole thing. I had to watch you fall apart after the first one and then when I saw the picture in the profit, it scared me half to death, and I couldn't imagine it happening again. When I went to see you, to see if you were all right, I found the two of you laughing in the kitchen, and I just blew up because all I was doing was worrying about you, and instead of worrying about me, and coming to reassure your family, all you were doing was sitting there laughing. Although your speech made perfect sense and it was quite smart, I couldn't shake the fact that you hadn't come around."
"I'm sor-." but mum interrupted me, wrapping her arms around me.
"I know Rose, I know. Then I saw you again today, and I was just overwhelmed with everything all over again. Can we talk about something else now though, worry has been consuming my life for the past week, I'd much rather just hear some good things about how you've been doing. I think I deserve some details now."
"Of course you do mum. Well, I'm about eight weeks a long. The healers have me on a very strict diet and basically won't let me do anything. Only four more weeks without problems and the healers are pretty sure everything will be okay.
After that, Mum and I chatted until Victoire came and told us it was time to eat.
The rest of the night passed as smoothly as it could have, with all the drama. When mum and I went back into the house, there was significantly more people in the house. Dominque wasn't able to make it but Bill, Fleur, Louis had joined Victoire and Teddy to make up the Delacour-Weasleys. Molly and Lucy showed up with Percy and Audrey, of course, that family never missed a Sunday dinner. Angelina, George, Roxanne, and Fred all weren't able to make it, they were visiting Aunt Angelina's mum who was sick, but the rest, my three Potter cousins, Hugo and their significant other came.
Scorpius whispered to me during dinner and when I gave my approval, he proceeded to make an announcement about what had happened and how we were doing and that everything at the moment was fine. After that, the whole atmosphere of the room relaxed. For once, the night ended on good terms for everyone. To say we were relieved would be a huge understatement.
Okay, so I realize I'm a horrible person. I totally meant for this chapter to come sooner, I just couldn't make this chapter come out like I wanted it to. I realize it's not the best chapter in the world, but I hope it's sufficient, it's a filler chapter. I was wondering, do I not add enough about other characters? I was going through the entire Weasley family, and realized there are quite a lot more than I remember to mention in my story. How do you feel about them? (Molly, Roxanne, Dominique esc.) do you want to hear more about them? So those 10 reviews I asked for came way quicker than I thought, so I'm raising it a tad higher this time. Once I get 20 reviews on this chapter, I'll post the next one. If I don't get that amount by September 29th(more than a month) I'll post it anyways. But do you really wanna wait that long…..it's your decision.
