We both watched Healer Brown's face as her wand roomed over Rose's stomach. It had been a few minutes and she still hadn't seemed to have found anything yet. Rose cast me a terrified look as Healer Brown's eyebrows lowered, her forehead creasing with confusion as she bit her lip, her wand starting to move more slowly and carefully around Rose's belly.

"What's wrong?" Rose asked, her voice filled with worry.

Healer Brown looked up to us with sympathy etched across her face. "I'm just having trouble finding a-" before she could finish, a tiny pounding sound started from directly where Healer Brown's wand was tracing over Rose's belly. Healer Brown visibly relaxed, as she let out a huge sigh of relief.

"Nothing to worry about, it's right here, for a minute I couldn't find a heartbeat."

Looking at Rose, you could tell she was still incredibly anxious. Her forehead was beaded with sweat and her shoulders and neck were tense. I squeezed her hand.

"Hey, it's ok, she found a heartbeat. It'll all be fine."

Healer Brown looked to us. "Scorpius is right Rose, I'm sorry to have caused you such a fright. From what I can see, the baby is doing fine," seeing that Rose had not yet relaxed she added, "Rose, the baby is doing better than fine, it's doing perfectly."

I heard Rose sigh. "Thank you, I just-for a minute there I thought," she trailed off.

I took over, "So is there something we need to know from here? We can assume everything will be fine from here, right?"

"We can never be certain, but everything should be better from here. Things should actually get easier. If you've been having morning sickness, most of that should disappear. With your history, I want you to keep resting a lot as well as relaxing, but also get your exercise. I would focus on taking walks, but just make sure that you're comfortable. Do you have any questions?"

Rose remained silent

"Now there's just one more thing before you leave, would you like a picture?"

"Yes, please." I nodded, seeing as Rose was still unresponsive.

Healer Brown waved her wand a few times before conjuring up a thin gray thread. As she brought it to the table, to develop the picture, Rose pulled herself off the table, pulled her shoes on, and muttered to me, "I'll be in the lobby," leaving the room.

"I'm sorry Healer Brown, I don't know what's wrong with her right now. I think she just needs time right now."

"I completely understand Scorpius. I would wait to show her the picture until you think she's ready." She slipped a small envelope into my hand.

"Thank you so much for everything." I shook her hand and hastily left to find Rose.

She was standing in the middle of the lobby when I found her, just staring off into space. Meeting her, I buttoned up her winter coat and slipped my arm around her waist.

We walked out into London's chilly November air, and started back home in silence.

We were about halfway there when Rose stopped. I pulled her into my arms. I could feel her body shaking in mine, I just held her tighter. After a while, I pulled her to face me.

"I'm sorry Scorpius, I just thought for a minute there that it was gone again. And it was just like my dream, she couldn't find the heartbeat, and I thought I had lost it again, and I just, it was so real, I'm sorry I know I should be happy right now, I know I should be crying because I'm happy, but I'm not. I'm crying because I've been scared shitless about losing this baby and I thought I did. I really thought I did."

I cupped her face in my hands. "I know Rose, I know. And it's okay. It's okay to be scared." I pulled her lips to mine and planted a soft kiss on them. I could taste the salt from her tears. "I'm here."

It was noon when we got home; we shed our winter coats, pulled on some sweats and climbed back into bed. Soon Rose's breathing slowed, and I could tell she had drifted to sleep. Rose slept for 6 hours straight, ate some food and slept again. It was two am when I woke for the fourth time that day. I made my way downstairs and started some tea. I had no idea what I should do till morning. I had slept more today than I had in a long time. I sat at the table to wait, when I noticed the coat I had worn that day was thrown over one of the chairs. I dug in the pocket until I found the envelope Healer Brown had given us. Twiddling it in my fingers I debated what to do. Apparently I didn't have to make the choice cause right then I heard Rose make her way from the stairs to the seat next to mine. Laying her hand on mine, she asked, "Can we open it now?"

I slowly slid my finger, breaking the seal and pulling out the picture inside. As we stared at it, I felt Rose slide her hand into mine, intertwining our fingers. We didn't need to say anything; we both knew we were thinking the same thing. The teakettle's whistle broke the silence. Rose was still staring at the picture, when I handed her, her glass.

"I'm sorry I keep crying." She laughed, tears dripping down her face. "But this is the good kind this time." I kissed her forehead, taking the picture from her and hanging it on the fridge with a magnet.

"It's beautiful," Rose sighed as I sat back down next to her.

"Just like you," I answered.

She rolled her eyes at me but pulled me out of my chair, wrapping her arms around my neck. Her lips were soft but hungry against mine. As she drove me back against the wall, I laughed, we weren't going to make it back upstairs, but we could definitely make it to the couch.

POV:Rose

"Look what I have…" I sang, walking back into the living room, a blanket wrapped around my body. I had woken up to the sound of tapping and found an owl waiting at the window. I handed the contents of the letter to Scorpius. It read…

We are happy to announce the arrival of…

Brett Albus Potter

who arrived at 3:05 am on December 13th

at a healthy eight pounds two ounces

nineteen inches

We hope to introduce you to him this coming Sunday at the Burrow

Next to it was a picture of James, a huge smile plastered on his face, standing over a worn-out looking Charlotte, both of them looking down at the little bundle in her arms. The picture moved from them looking at the baby, looking at the camera smiling and then James leaning down to kiss Charlotte.

"Aren't they just lovely?" I sighed taking the picture back from Scorpius. "I can't believe he's finally here, it felt like yesterday they made the announcement."

Scorpius pulled me back onto the couch next to him.

"That's gonna be us in six months." He pulled me to him. "I love you Rose," he muttered, his lips against mine.
