Chapter 21
Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter
I'm so sorry this is coming so late. I had a huge case of writer's block and I was dealing with some personal issues. I'm so sorry and I hope you all still read and review.
POV: Scorpius
"They're here!" Rose called from the door.
"I'll be there in a minute, let me just finish these up" I yelled back. I heard the door open, and a chorus of voices start up.
"There's my son," I turned to see my mom and Rose coming in to the kitchen. "And you've even got him wearing an apron." She laughed, kissing my cheek. "If only I could have got him to cook when he was living with us."
"You missed out, but I guess you never asked," I shrugged. Rose scoffed, "don't pretend that you ever actually did what your mum asked" walking over to me and planting a kiss on my lips. "Come on Astoria, let's let him finish up."
Wiping the flour off my hands, I slid the scones into the oven. Rose came into the kitchen again, untying the apron from around my neck. "You ready?" I turned around and slid my arms around her waist. "Of course I'm ready, let's do this" I grabbed her hand.
"There he is," Hermione, Ron, my dad, and my mum were all sitting round the table. "My daughter tells me you did most of the cooking." Hermione got up to hug me, "it smells delicious."
"It's not much, just brunch." I smiled.
"Better than anything I ever do," Ron stood up to shake my hand, "whenever I make something she always finds something to criticize." He winked as Hermione cast him a reproachful glance. "I do not!"
"You do." Rose piped in, "but let's not get in to this, who's ready to eat?" As everyone started dishing out food, I greeted my Dad. Dad and I had always been close when I was growing up. Contrary to what everyone thought, he was a great father and always made sure I knew the truth about his family and what it had done.
When I had first become friends with Al and Rose and the rest of the Weasley/Potter clan, my mum and him had been overjoyed. My dad later told me was worried about sending me off to Hogwarts due to my last name. In my first letter to him I had written about Al, and he then knew I had made the best sort of friends.
The six of us laughed, and enjoyed each other's company as we ate. Once everyone had finished, and the scones had cooled down. I brought them to the table. As Rose stood up next to me, I slid my arm around her waist.
"So, before we finish up, Scorpius and I have an announcement. I know that because of the whole profit scandal, you all already know. But we're going to pretend that that never happened. And we can now happily say I am 14 weeks pregnant. And the baby looks happy and healthy. And if you look real closely," she pulled her dress tight around her belly. "You can see a bit of a bump." She turned to me beaming and as I kissed her forehead, I heard some whimpers coming from the table.
Even though they already knew, all four of them started crying, although the men kept trying to hide it.
Of course, tons of hugging and 'I'm so happy for you two's' ensued, but when they finally calmed down, mum asked the real question they were all dying to know.
"So do you have a picture?" After we showed them one, the gushing was endless. While they were all transfixed by the tiny shape on the scan, I whispered to Rose,
"This is their first grandchild, just wait until the third or fourth, it'll be old news."
She gazed at me with surprise in her eyes. "Third or fourth? Slow down cowboy." She winked and kissed me "For me, by the third or fourth, it'll still be just as amazing." I smiled against her lips. "For me to."
All that work for my scones to be left forgotten on the table. Well, it was worth it.
POV: Rose
After our parents left, the rest of the day was uneventful. Until about seven, when I heard a knock at the door. Answering it, I was greeted by the smiling faces of Lily, Emily, Charlotte, Molly, Dominique, Lucy, and Roxanne. As we had promised, Lily and I had planned a girl's night out. When I had told Scorpius about our plan, he quickly announced he would be with James and dismissed himself from the situation. Probably the smartest move. As immature as it was, whenever we girls got together, there was always some sort of drama going on. Usually between Lily and Molly. No one ever really knew why they were fighting, but they had such different personalities, that it happened almost every time they were around each other.
"Hey guys." I ushered them in, closing the door behind Charlotte. Before I could say anything, she hugged me.
"Thank you so much, for doing this Rose, I really need it."
"Of course, I think this'll be really fun, come on let's join the others."
"Emily!" I called out, my brother's girlfriend breaking into a smile when she saw me.
"Rose, how are you? I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!"
"I know," she wrapped her arms around me gently squeezing me. "How are you and Hugo? He better be treating you well!"
"Oh of course he is! I mean sometimes he can be aggravating, I'm sure you know. But, it's perfect. I've never felt like I feel about him before. And now I'm being cheesy." She blushed, and I laughed.
"Now, it's adorable. That's exactly how I feel about Scorpius." Our conversation was interrupted by Lily. "Now that you're all here, we should get going, our reservation is scheduled for seven fifteen!" She yelled.
We started off at Pied a Terre, a little French restaurant in London. Where, typically, Molly and Lily got in a fight about the bill, and then again when Lily mentioned where we were going next.
"Do you really think that's appropriate Lily? This is not one of your raunchy bachelorette parties, I was told that this was a girls night. I don't want to go to some foul club."
"Then don't come. You'll probably just be a stick up everyone's arse anyway."
"Excuse me, I am a part of this outing, I'm not just going to leave. And I don't appreciate you suggesting that."
"Yeah, yeah, come if you want, but everyone else wants to go, and I'm not letting you ruin our night."
Molly grumbled something under her breath, but knew a lost cause when she saw one. So, us girls set out to the lewdest ladies club in London.
I can hardly remember the rest of the night, not cause I was piss drunk like the majority of girls, but because it all happened so fast.
First we were all dancing, then all the girls were drinking, then Molly was yelling, then they were drinking more, than they were spilling.
Huge Con to being pregnant-No Alcohol.
Lily ended up getting so drunk that I had to call Nate to come pick her up. He basically carried out a nauseated, yet still yelling and dancing Lily out of the club. To say Lily had no sense of limits would be a huge understatement. Dominique and Roxanne weren't much better. Since they still didn't have a significant other, I entrusted Hugo with delivering them home as well as Emily. No one ever had to worry about Lucy or Molly, they were just like their father.
I ended up with Charlotte and we decided to take a taxi home. We spent most of the car ride in silence. Mostly due to the fact that Charlotte was pretty woozy and wasn't entirely "there".
When we got home I helped Charlotte inside, where James and Scorpius were hanging out. Ginny and Harry had agreed to watch Brett. After dumping Charlotte in James' arms I dragged myself to the shower, rinsing off the smell of sweat and alcohol from my body.
Scorpius joined me, "Did you have a good time?" he whispered in my ear.
"Mmhh," I rested my head against his chest, water running down my face.
Tilting my chin towards him he brought his lips to mine, his fingers running down my arms, my waist, my legs. He pressed my back against the wall, his lips on my lips, my neck.
Suddenly a horrible feeling came to my stomach. I pushed Scorpius as far away from me as I could before the night's dinner came back up, spilling all around the shower floor.
Oh Pregnancy…
