New chapter. Thank you so much for all the reviews. You have no idea how much they all meant to me!
Two weeks into rehab and Grace was frustrated. She wanted it to be easy and fast. It was neither. It was a lot work, and therapy sessions, and people watching her eat. She just wanted to be better. She was tired of feeling like a failure, and hating herself. Yes, her family was helping her the best they could, but it was HARD. She didn't want to be in the hospital anymore. Didn't want nurses and doctors and therapists monitoring her every move. So, she when Will and her mom were both there with her one afternoon, she asked them a question.
"Can I come home?"
Alicia and Will looked at each other, then back to Grace.
Alicia spoke first.
"Honey, I don't know of that is a good idea. We want you to get better."
"But I have been looking it up. And sometimes, people recover better at home. If their family helps. And you said you would do anything you could to help." Graces eyes started to tear up. "Please."
Will looked between her and Alicia. Grabbing Alicia's hand, and with a quick give us a minute to Grace, he pulled his wife out into the hall.
"Maybe we could try it."
"Are you crazy? Look at her! She isn't ready to come home. She needs to be better."
"She really wants to go home. Did you see that look on her face? We could try it."
"We aren't doctors, Will." Alicia Snapped. "We can't help her if something goes wrong. What if she starts back into her old ways? It's only been two weeks!"
"Then we bring her back. But I think we could try it. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work and we readmit her. But we could try."
"She is wrapped around your finger."
"I know." He grinned. And then he took on a serious tone.
"But we could try."
Alicia looked up at the ceiling, thinking. Finally, she sighed.
"Ok. Ok. We will try it. BUT, if she starts to lose weight, she comes right back. If she shows signs of relapse, she comes back. And she still will see her therapist. But, we can try it."
Will pulled her into a tight hug, whispering, "we can help her. I know we can."
They went back in the room, and told Grace the plan, and Alicia's rules. Grace nodded in understanding, and her eyes lit up at the thought of going home.
Will went and talked to the doctor. He didn't want to release Grace, but he understood, and signed the papers.
"Please, just do what's best for your daughter. And if she starts to slip, bring her back. Please?"
Will nodded, and replied.
"Of course. We just want what is best for her."
Alicia had called Peter, to let him know Grace would be coming home with her and Will, and why, and he took it surprising well. She could tell he wasn't happy, but he also wasn't going to fight it. His only questions were if he was going to be allowed to visit her, and what he could do to help. she gave him permission to visit, and promised to let him know if he could do anything.
They were going to help Grace. All them, together. Whatever it took.
Review please! Only a few more chapters left, if all goes according to plan.
