My fellow people of the internet. I'm sorry for my long time away from the computer. I've had some problems with my other computer. So, I'm sorry if I miss spell some words and such. I have to fix this computer up a bit.
I don't own Harry Potter. I don't own much anymore... brain wise.
The Easter holidays, though highly appreciated, were not as relaxing for the third years as they were for everyone else. They had homework piles about as tall as a the first years. Some were on the brink of having a nervous break down but that wouldn't ruin their spirits. No, what ruined their spirits was the fact that the final Quidditch game was approaching and both teams were in and out of the hospital wing every day. To make matters worse the Head of Houses were trying to give pointers to each team mate whenever they could.
"Does it frighten you that Snape just jumps from a classroom to tell you stuff?" Katie asked Jess one day after Snape almost gave the two heart attacks. Jess shrugged but said nothing. She was keeping an ear open for any Gryffindor students. They had been popping in and out the past few days trying to push her down the stairs or into things. Even a few Slytherins had been taught trying to break her wrist. But that was just a daily occurrence from Bulk.
Jess and Katie went their separate ways after it went dark. Katie left and to fill her spot was Sierra with a bag of chips. She offered Jess some but to no anvil, Jess just wouldn't eat. The thought of it made her stomach churn and her head ache. The common room was empty except for the Quidditch team going over plays.
Draco and Zack had their heads together and were pointing at different symbols on a paper while Marcus was muttering things to himself in the corner. Two members of the team were in the hospital wing getting treated for bat bogies. Sierra sighed as she sat on the couch next to Draco.
"If we use this play then we might be able to score a few points before the snitch is spotted. If we use this one... we might get creamed." Zack said, pointing to a circle. Draco rubbed his eyes and yawned shaking his head.
"Everyone get to bed. We have a hard day tomorrow and need our sleep." Marcus stood up and waited for the rest of them to get up and walk to their dorms.
Jess woke up the next morning feeling like crap. She woke up about five times that night dreaming about Snape jumping around corners and yelling plays at her then turning into a dementor and sucking out her soul. She sat up and looked around the room before getting up and dressed. Sierra sat up and stared at Jess getting dressed into her Quidditch robes.
"You look really sick. Maybe we should have Crabbe or Goyle play for you." She said while grabbing a chocolate frog from under her pillow. Jess shook her head and smiled happily but said nothing. I really am fine. Just sick to my stomach. If I mess up and someone gets through to Draco or I hit my team mate with a bludger then I'm going to get beat up. Sierra watched her a few more minutes then rolled out of bed with another chocolate frog in between her teeth.
Once both dressed they walked to the Great Hall for breakfast. Katie caught up with them after wishing Ally and Jayce luck on todays game. Zack walked over and put his arms around Sierra and Jess with a yawn.
"Ready for the match?" he asked.
"She isn't talking Pieper. Keeping her wits to herself." Katie said. She nudged Jess in the ribs lightly. Jess nodded but didn't feel like talking, not keeping her wits but just wanting to stay silent. It seemed right.
Just as they were about to sit down to eat Marcus told them that they needed to go to the pitch early in order to get ready for the match. No one felt like eating anyway, to many nerves. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, and a few Ravenclaws booed as they walked out of the Great Hall.
Marcus was pacing across the dressing room and going over the play to those who were listening. Jess and Zack were sitting in the back lacing up their pads. Zack was looking at her with a sad smile and worried eyes. He knew she was nervous, he had been feeling the same way for awhile, but she needed to know that it was going to be fine. Maybe he wasn't worried about the Quidditch game so much as his feelings.
"I'm fine Zack. Once this match is over and we have the cup in our hands I'll be great." Jess broke through his thoughts and looked at her. She was smiling a real smile, not the fake ones she usually wore. Zack nodded quickly making him look like a bobble head. He grabbed her hand in his and grinned. The gesture however went over Jess's head.
Both teams were on the field. The wind was blowing, cheer and jeers filled the stadium as Lee Jordan tried to yell over them. Katie was sitting next to Hermione and Sierra. It was hard to see the faces of the teams from their seats but soon they would just be blurs through the air. The thought of it made Sierra sick.
"I never understood the fascination with Quidditch. It's just a sport where people chase balls!" Sierra shouted to Katie over the yelling.
"My kind of sport." Casey muttered under his breath. Hermione lost herself and started to giggle uncontrollably.
"It's a battle of strength! You have to know how to play the game right or you will, OH! FOUL FOUL!" Katie screamed at the top of her lungs as Jess was hit in the head with a beaters bat by Fred. Madam Hooch called the foul and Marcus made a goal.
"I don't understand why there aren't more girls on Slytherin team. Jess seems to be handling it well." Sierra said as red streaked past them.
"Because Ms. Kelly, Ms. Vance decided to break the rules and take matters into her own hands... HOOCH THAT WAS A FOUL! Damn Gryffindors playing dirty." Snape growled. In all reality the Slytherin's were causing all the Gryffindor players to make fouls. Madam Hooch was catching onto this and decided to not call the fouls she saw. The Slytherin players stopped after awhile and played fair until Draco decided to screw up and grab the back of Potters broom. The action caused Harry to swerve, hitting Zack and making him fly into Jess and her into Katie and Hermione's laps.
The Slytherins watched in terror as Jayce scored the winning goal for the match. Applause and screams erupted through the stadium. Snape turned and started to shout at Jess then towards Draco who was sitting on the ground throwing a fit. Marcus slowly flew to the ground then pounced on Draco screaming profane words.
I had writers block. I'm sorry. "For the death of the king." "Why is he sick." "No fool we're going to kill him. Simba too." "Yeah who needs a king? No king no king!" Always.
