"This is weird," Jeremy said, typing on the supercomputer that night with Aelita. "Dani said she overheard us in class, right?"

"Yeah, that's what she told me," Aelita responded. "Why?"

"We were in the front and she was in the back. Dani couldn't have possible heard us in the back, so I checked her scan, and this came up," Jeremy pointed to the screen, and Aelita looked over. "She has something weird in her DNA. You and Yumi also told me she shot a green energy field?"

"Yeah," Aelita nodded.

"The computer says it drains Dani of energy if she uses it a lot," Jeremy explained.

"That explains what happened to her on Lyoko and the scanner room." Aelita realized. "But energy field don't make me exhausted or pale. And when the others were de-virtualized for the first time, they were dazed but not exhausted and disoriented."

"Exactly. I'll have to dig into it more, but Dani isn't a regular girl. She's hiding something, beyond our slim knowledge on her past."

"Okay Danielle, you can do this." Dani whispered to herself, and she looked around. The forest was empty, and the moon dimly lit the scene around her. A bright flash of white appeared, and Dani was in a HAZMAT suit with a familiar logo on the top, with her now white hair in a ponytail. Her electric green eyes brightened with success, and Dani tried creating an ecto-blast. "EK!"

Dani stopped when her hand handling the ecto-blast began to melt. "Two blasts on Lyoko in my human form took a lot of energy," Dani sighed as the white rings surrounded her, changing her back to a human state. "I don't think it really helped my situation."

Dani groaned at the fact her ghost form was so unstable it's nearly at the point to being destroyed. Of course, Dani could stay in her stable human form for a while, wait for her ghost form to rest and be able to use her powers to a small extent. Maybe they could help. Maybe…

"Freak!"

Dani shook her head at the thought. The gang barely agreed to let her in, but she was already immune to the Return to the Past. Maybe she could feel at home, like she did with Vlad. If only she could trust them…

But she knew that her trust isn't easy to earn.

In the cafeteria…

"So Jeremy thinks she's isn't just a human?" Ulrich asked.

"He checked her scan, and based on everything, Dani's hiding something." Aelita pointed out. "How do you explain her energy field and her highly tuned ears to our conversation? She isn't a horrible person, but she isn't exactly helping her current situation with our trust."

Odd was about to open his mouth when he saw Dani entering the lunch room. "Speak of the devil," Ulrich muttered before she saw them.

"Hi guys," Dani greeted, heading over. "I hope you don't mind about what happened yesterday."

Aelita replied, "Actually, we were just talking about that. Dani, you do know you can tell us anything, right?"

Dani looked at Aelita strangely when she sat. "Why?"

"Dani, whether we like it or not, you're in on this mess. Being enemies and keeping secrets won't help us at all, so I thought we should clean the slate," Aelita shrugged.

Dani bit her tongue. Aelita sat waiting for Dani's answer.

"Well, I don't have much to say. After everything that happened so far in my life, I've learned what distrust is. And I saw it on all of your faces." Dani accused. "Besides, as I said, I won't lose anything if I don't tell you. I don't have anything to lose, after my dad…"

Dani cut herself off. Aelita glanced over at Ulrich and Odd.

She isn't going to budge.

Aelita sat in her room, doing her homework. Dani was who knows where, but it was only three o'clock. A sliver gleam caught her eye, and Aelita's curiosity took over. Aelita saw the light from under Dani's bed, and once pulling it out, it was a strange thing to hide.

A thermos. It wasn't a normal thermos, it was neon green and sliver, high-tech for no obvious reason, and Aelita had the idea it wasn't really for soup. She turned it over.

Fenton Thermos: Return to Fenton Works immediately if found.

"What in the world is Fenton Thermos for?"

Cliffhanger! We're heading closer to the truth…

Are you ready?

And by the way, for some reason fanfic didn't delete the old reviews from the original stories. I'll only reply to the recent ones.

Review replies:

Princesbinas: No, I did not now that, which is funny!

Kurimaster13: If she actually had the ability to not melt into a puddle of goop, she wouldn't even be in Kadic.

Goodbye for now!
