My sincerest apologies to my extreme lateness, may this chapter be as good as you hope! I also modified some other chapters, so now the gang remains to barely know of Dani's mysterious past.

In the factory…

"The Fenton Thermos?" Jeremy asked. "What's that for?"

"I bet it's for soup," Odd smirked. "It is a thermos after all."

"No, Dani wouldn't hide it if it was only for soup. She made sure it was hidden, considering the way she covered it with dust bunnies and a pillow." Aelita countered, and Jeremy was typing on the supercomputer.

"Here it is. Fenton Thermos is used for catching ghosts, created by Fenton Works, and often seen by Danny Phantom's battles with ghosts." Jeremy read off the page. "Dani was hiding a ghost catcher."

"So Dani hunts ghosts?" Yumi asked.

"Well, we can't jump to conclusions just yet. This is a family photo of the Fentons." Jeremy pointed to the picture on the screen. It showed a black-haired fat man in an orange suit, a smaller, thinner ginger-haired woman in a blue suit, and a girl that looked like her mother, with her ginger hair and blue eyes, only looked a year or two older than Yumi, and finally, a boy who was about Yumi's age and looked remarkably like Dani.

"The son looks just like Dani," Ulrich realized. "How? Is she their daughter?"

"No, they only have a daughter named Jasmine, AKA Jazz, and a son named Daniel, AKA Danny." Jeremy answered. "Yes, I noticed their names too. I checked out everything about the Fentons, but I never saw a Danielle Fenton or Dani Fenton for that matter. It's like she doesn't exist to them."

"Not even cousins?" Yumi asked, and Jeremy nodded. "Nothing. I think she stole the thermos herself, then ran off. The problem is why. Why would ghosts go after her, presuming they exist?"

The gang glanced at each other, oblivious to Dani's secret pulling them into her own mayhem.

Aelita snuck into her dorm. The meeting was at night, so they presumed she would be sleeping.

"So, what was the discussion today?" Dani smirked on her bed.

"Why are you up? It's midnight." Aelita asked, checking the clock on her dresser.

"I could ask you the same thing," Dani answered.

Aelita sighed, and the matter was dropped.

"C'mon, push it Belpois!" Jim shouted at Jeremy. "You're almost to the top!"

Jeremy was sweating, and Dani could see he was nowhere near the top, nor will he be within the time period of another half an hour. She was proved right as Jeremy fell. "Is that all you got? That's no wonder since the only exercise you get is clicking your computer mouse all day! Della Robbia, show your buddy Belpois here how it's done."

After being shown up by Odd's amazing rock climbing skills (Dani was impressed by his ability to easily scale the wall within two minutes), they headed for lunch.

"Hey Jeremy, having a hard time lifting your fork with those string bean arms?" Sissi teased while passing by.

"I'm surprised you didn't pull a muscle putting that comment together," Dani spat at Sissi.

"Weirdo hanging out with you guys, no wonder." Sissi stuck her tongue out.

"It's been nearly two days, I thought you'd figure out my name by now, but that was being too optimistic, wasn't it?" Dani smiled innocently at Sissi while chewing on a meatball.

"Moron," Sissi crinkled her nose at Dani's chewing. Dani swallowed as Yumi questioned what happened.

"We had to rock climb," Ulrich simply answered, so Yumi nodded in understanding.

"I can't be bad in every sport," Jeremy said.

"Face humanity Jeremy," Dani answered. "Believe me, there's worse."

"Like the Skid?" Odd mentioned. "When's our Maiden Voyage, hmm?"

"We still have to work out some kinks for the Skid," Jeremy replied.

"I thought we were done with that programming," Yumi asked.

"Do you guys really think it's that simple?" Jeremy snapped. "We still don't know if the Skid will disintegrate or what's in the Digital Sea!"

"Well, let's find out." Dani responded. "You're going to have to in the end."

"I said, quiet down!" Mr. Delmas said.

"Mr. Delmas said QUIET!" Jim shouted. The lunch room silenced immediately.

"Thank you. Class, today is Fire Safety and Prevention Day, so there will be no afternoon classes." He announced, and cheering followed. "This will be followed by a complete evacuation exercise. No student will be allowed in the building during this exercise."

"Perfect," Dani smiled. "We can test it then."

"But we still don't know if it'll work," Jeremy argued.

"Dani's right Jeremy. Just to see how it works," Aelita persuaded.

"We've got to try it before XANA gets stronger." Ulrich agreed.

"Fine. We'll do it during the safety drill." Jeremy admitted in defeat.

"So, we'll be going into what you fear is virtual oblivion," Dani summed up Jeremy's speech.

"It's more complicated than that," Jeremy rolled his eyes.

"And E=mc2 is more complicated than a formula. We get it, Einstein." Dani said. "Should we go?"

"Actually, I don't really know if you should go." Jeremy winced.

"Wait, what?" Dani responded in complete shock. "What does that mean?"

"We don't trust you," Yumi answered.

"I saved the Skid, isn't that enough?" Dani crossed her arms.

"William disabled a bomb that was going to blow up the factory. He ended up becoming our enemy." Ulrich pointed out.

"It's just this once. We aren't entirely sure you are trustable." Aelita shrugged. "You blackmailed us on getting into this group."

"So what am I supposed to do? Go back to Kadic? Just mope around until you get back?" Dani took a deep breath.

"Just hang out here until we need you," Jeremy said. "Not much you can do."

Dani glanced back at Jeremy. She saw him giving directions on how to left the dock and such, so she decided to test her powers. A small ecto-ball appeared in her hand, but suddenly Dani felt lightheaded as she let the ecto-ball extinguish. She fell against the wall in exhaustion. Crap, this means I can barely use my powers. Dani thought. Was it Lyoko?

Dani looked back on the effects virtualization had on her. Before, she could use her powers to some extent, such as invisibility or ecto-balls. Afterwards, she can't use her powers without fear of passing out or melting. Getting out of the scanners was also strange, losing a lot of energy, although it could've been over extent of powers in the digital world.

"No!" Jeremy shouted, which alerted Dani.

"What happened?" Dani headed over.

"The navigation system broke. If I don't get the back-up programs in my room, they'll be stuck in the digital sea!" Jeremy shouted in worry.

"Well, want me to go get it?" Dani asked.

"No, you stay here. My room's a bit untidy, you'd never be able to find it. Just stay with the gang, and I'll get the disc." Jeremy said, getting up.

"You sure?" Dani asked.

"Positive." Jeremy left. "And make sure to tell them to stay put."

"Okey doke," Dani gave him the thumbs up. "Jeremy went out to get his DVD, he told me to tell you to stay put."

"Let's look around," Odd declared.

"You just read my mind." Dani laughed. "Jeremy never said I had to enforce it."

As the gang cruised, Dani took interest to the files. Danny was never good with computers, considering he electrocuted himself inside a broken ghost portal. Luckily for her, Vlad took interest with her intelligence, resulting in her own hacking skills. She was new to her life, so there was nothing holding her back.

Dani looked at the profiles, and scanned over her own. "Oh crap…" she cursed silently to herself. The computer exposed her dead side through mixed blood and ectoplasm in her data. Jeremy hasn't seemed to figure out what exactly what the weird substance was, and Dani silently prayed that Vlad's knowledge in hacking would pay off.

"Dani!" Aelita shouted, and she stopped.

"What's wrong?"

"We found a replica of Lyoko and we're being attacked by monsters!" Aelita screamed.

"Okay, let's see…" Dani began thinking to herself, opening up the screen showing the monsters. "Wait a second; I think I know what to do. Aelita send out the Nav Skids. I have a plan."

"Hurry and tell us, we're almost out of energy!" Aelita shouted in panic.

"We need bait… Who's up for a little divide and conquer?" Dani asked playfully. "Mono a mono. Or fish, whatever you prefer. Each of you, take your own and don't get hit: it's all or nothing now."

"Ok commander!" Odd said.

"Where's Jeremy…" Dani bit her tongue. "We don't have much time now."

"Here!" Jeremy called, exiting the elevator.

"They're being attacked, running out energy fast." Dani informed him. "Start the debugging."

Dani watched as Jeremy put in the sequence of codes. He hit enter, and the program went into the computer. A beeping sounded as an exclamation marks appeared on the screen.

"Dang it! That was our last chance," Jeremy exclaimed. "Now I don't know what to do."

Dani sighed until she remembered her dad entering something in his own computer.

"Hey, Dad, what are you doing?" Dani asked as Vlad was typing in some codes on his screen.

"This is a stabilizer program. I'm testing it so I can stabilize you my dear." Vlad said sweetly, and gestured to the chamber with one of his horribly unstable clones. He entered his program, which actually worked.

The clone was good and stable: until it melted again within thirty minutes.

"Jeremy, let me try something." Dani said.

"What?" Jeremy asked, getting up.

"Just trust me," Dani sat down and started typing what she remembered. "Guys, Jeremy's code didn't work. I'm going to try something."

She wasn't listening to their words after that. She typing in what she remembered and with a shaky hand she entered it.

"It works! Jeremy, it works!"

"Only for thirty minutes though," Dani replied. "But that should be enough time."

"Who knew that the network was a real live ocean!" Jeremy exclaimed in awe.

"Oh yeah, with their own murderous fish as well," Odd rolled his eyes.

"My father… and William… They're in there, somewhere. We nearly got stuck there as well," Aelita murmured in thought.

"Where did you get that code anyways?" Jeremy asked.

"Oh my dad does various things in his lab, such as stabilizers for experiments. I saw him do that to one of his experiments. It worked, but not for long," Dani shrugged. "None of them worked, but he was insane when it came to experiments."

The comment could've easily fooled as a joke; with only there was a hint of disappointment that could be spotted if someone was listening hard enough. And that was Jeremy.

I'm back from vacation! Don't get mad, I promise to update at least once a month.

Here are my excuses: I was waiting for my 50th review, and I was plainly lazy.

So, let's get with our review replies!

Andrea: well, I have time now! Enjoy!

KuriMaster13: Yeah, that'd be enjoyable. Dani's personality and ghost powers could result in a full out prank playground for her.

Good-bye for now!
