Dear followers, favorite's, and reviewers- this is an important note. This song fanfic, "Behind the Day and Night Job," is done for. These series of stories were a blast to write and to experience and experiment with Diana's personality. The reason I'm discontinuing this story is because I've run out of ideas and songs to use. Yes, it's stupid to say that; considering the millions of songs in the world but I think "Remember the Name " by Fort Minor (feat. Style of Beyond) is a great ending song. All together with a total of 10 chapters, I'm satisfied of how these short stories turned out. I also hope the person who requested this story from me enjoyed this and the first one, I just forgot who. Thanks again everyone.

The humid air whipped around and twisted through buildings and the street walking humans in the night. The town was asleep, the full moon in the sky as oil lampposts flickered in the eerie breeze, sending slick shadows behind the occasional mailbox and shop sign. A woman, walking briskly, crossed a corner and turned down into an alley where her small apartment door resigned.
Fumbling with her metal keys, she picked a random key out of her chain and tried the lock, it wasn't the right one. The delicate trembling hands picked another one, but it still wouldn't fit. Letting out a breath of eager frustration, she calmed herself down and tried the other four keys. The hooded maiden made it to her second key before she heard a nerve racking cry of some sort of animal.
With her breathing hitched, she whipped her head towards the end of the alley where she heard the call. Waiting a few anxious moments, she returned to her key feud, huffing out ragged breaths. Then she heard it again, only closer and even more shrill. She physically turned herself away from her door and frantically looked back and forth, waiting for whatever it was to come out. After more time lost searching for the source instead of opening her door, she sighed and turned back around.
With a loud gasp, she threw her arm over her face and backed up but fell over the hem of her dress. The thing was standing in front of the woman's doorway, a snarling drooling mess. It was larger than an average human man, its back hunched and untamed tufts of hair poking from its arms and head. The frightened girl was unable to see its face, which she assumed was distorted, as she slowly crawled away from the being. It suddenly snarled and lurched at the petrified woman, making her screams echo from the alleyway.
"So these guys are twins and are mutant beings?" Reaper Diana Waltz called as she, along with Grell Sutclift and William T. Spears, dashed upon the darkened rooftops. With a quick glance at her 'To Die' book, she snapped it shut and tucked it in her jacket. William leaped over a chimney and responded with a brief nod, "They're the cause of these attacks."
"And the reason I have overtime!" Grell cried out as he tousled his crimson locks, hopping over the gaps between the houses. Soon the trio ended up at the scene where the inhuman beast struck down the woman. Her hair was sticky with blood and her clothes lay in tatters.
Will quickly took her Cinematic Record while Diana and Grell surveyed the area, going their separate paths. Diana carefully glimpsed down the side street and noticed something rustle near a metal trash can. Preparing her death scythe, she took a few steps forward only to find a rat chewing at food scraps. She sighed as she turned to exit the small alley but found a large shadow blocking her path.
Diana gasped and blocked the beast's attack with her weapon while slightly sliding back from the force of the blow. She then jerked her scythe up and made the being stumble into the street, the streetlight illuminating it's shape. She glanced at it's face to see a sagging chin and bags of loose flesh dangling off his facial frame. It had a single patch of brown, matted fur on his head and midnight colored eyes with tints of yellow.
Diana lifted up her scythe to strike a blow but she felt a fierce force send her flying into the brick wall across the road. She cried out in pain as she slowly crawled out of the pile of bricks, her death scythe lay near the street lamp. The first beast charged at the defenseless Shinigami until Will appeared in front of him and shot up his scythe at the mutant's chin, performing an uppercut and sending him back a few steps.
"Thanks Will." Diana said as she stood up and spotted Grell fending off the other twin beast. He slashed with chainsaw at his shoulder, propelling crimson blood over the wall. The beast swung it's fist but missed Grell by inches. Grell was near the streetlamp and picked up Diana's scythe and blocked another crushing blow before throwing it back to it's owner.
"I'll never know how you fight with that darling, too simple for my taste." Grell called as he leaped back from the being, nearly back to back with William who was fighting off the opposite twin. Diana caught her weapon just in time to slice at the deformed man's stomach, making his insides slide out onto the pavement. He screeched in a high pitched animal call and swiped at Diana who easily blocked him with the side of her blade, pushed him away and sliced his forearm off.
"One down," She muttered to herself as the mutant lay in a crumbled pile on the road. William and Grell did the finishing blow together on their twin and he died right beside his brother. The trio met up and glanced at the bloody mess pooling in the street and then looked at their clothes which were slightly messy too.
"All in a nights work; it's worth it." Diana said as William and Grell tried to brush off the dirt from their attire.
"Dirt doesn't go with my outfit but blood, that's a different story." Grell added as he threw his flaming hair over his shoulder. Will looked slightly agitated as he fixed his glasses.
"Indeed. Now I believe all of us have more scheduled deaths later tonight so I'll give you ten minutes to change you clothes."
"Always so crude aren't you Will?" Diana chided as she nudged his arm, earning a glare from under his glasses. She sighed in defeat. "Until we meet again." She said as the three of them conjured up a portal and stepped through it, going their separate ways.
