Lavi Bookman lay splayed out on the couch under dim lighting, his eyes glazed. Letting out a sigh, he stared up at the circular motion of the ceiling fan. He then made a move to lay the back of his palm on his forehead which was hot and beaded with sweat. The memories that had swirled in his head endlessly had finally ceased, causing him to smirk.
Look at me acting all nervous. I'm not a little kid anymore, he can't hurt me.
Rising from the couch, Lavi walked into his bedroom to change out of the sweatpants and T-shirt he was currently wearing. He looked to the corner where the over sized shirt that Allen wore sat neat and folded on a chair. Lavi shook his head, clearing any thoughts he might've had about the silvery haired boy. He slipped on a pair of jeans, a Polo shirt and a jacket, then made his way to the living room. Walking into the kitchen, he shot a weary glance at the refrigerator.
"I think I'll skip breakfast." He muttered with a sigh, then walked out the door. Lavi trotted down the stairs to the front porch and clicked the unlock button on his car keys. He shuffled over and plopped down in his jet black car with gray interior, once again checking for the hammer ornament that hung from his rear view mirror. Once inside the car he sighed and pulled out his phone to check the time.
I'm actually early for once...
Just then his stomach uttered a low growl. He placed a hand over the surface and hung his head, which knocked loudly against the steering wheel.
"Allen's food would be great right now..."
Allen didn't even spare a glance or even attempt to pay attention in English class today. His immature teacher was currently up there so Allen deemed it fit to put his head down on the desk and completely ignore him. He lay there undisturbed for a few moments, tuning out the long-winded lecture which was lulling him to sleep. He got about 5 more seconds of peace before Lavi walked over and slammed his hand down on the desk, startling Allen. However, the young teen kept his head down and in the crook of his elbow.
"Mr. Walker. Pay attention." Lavi growled, then spoke in a low whisper so no one would hear. "I don't wanna have to tutor your ass again."
"Maybe I would pay attention if my teacher wasn't such a-"
"Do you need to be sent to Komui?" Lavi threatened, cutting off the less than pleasant word that Allen was about to let fly from his lips. Allen picked his head up ever so slowly and mustered up the most poisonous glare he had in his arsenal.
"Gladly." With that the young Brit got up and walked out. Even he was surprised at his rebellious attitude. He thought he was a relatively polite person, but Lavi just... ugh. He shuffled slowly down the deserted hallway, his hands which were clenched into fists, were shoved angrily into his pockets. He let out a sigh, kicking a crumpled up piece of paper that was carelessly littered in the halls.
"Hey, boy." Allen heard a familiar voice call out from behind him. He turned effortlessly to face Tyki Mikk whose eyes rested solely on his.
"I hope that study session helped~" He smirked, his voice was laced with sarcasm.
"Oh yeah, I learned a lot, but nothing relating to schoolwork." Allen replied and rolled his eyes heavenward. At this Tyki let out a chuckle then strolled over to Allen's side genially, not breaking eye contact with the younger.
"I'm hosting a party this Saturday to celebrate my new job, I suspect you will attend, I mean, you did promise you'd come the next time around." Tyki persuaded. Allen frowned and averted his gaze from the man's golden yellow eyes which seemed to pierce right through him.
"Why would you want me to come? I hardly know you." Allen scoffed. At first he was just putting on an act, but now Allen realized. He hardly knew anything about the guy! I mean, besides the fact that he knows where the library is.
Tyki laughed slightly and a rekindled light danced in his intense eyes, ''THAT'S why I like you. You hmm... let's say, you interest me." Allen narrowed his eyes in response. This isn't the first time I've heard this.
The whitette broke eye contact and began to walk away, stating his decline. "I'm sorry, I don't really like the idea of being someone's entertainment. Besides, didn't you celebrate already?" Before the teen could get very far, two hands with great force pinned him to the wall, Tyki hovering over him ominously.
"I did, with my family. However when my family celebrates, they do it big. This is just a continuation of the party, my family loves to be entertained~"
Allen stood there frozen to the spot, nonplussed and hesitant. He was trapped between Tyki's arms and couldn't find a means to escape. The only way to describe the situation would be a caged rabbit with a hungry tiger ready to pounce.
Tyki was so close Allen could feel his breath, which was strangely cool, tickle his face. "We're inviting everyone, and it's ... kind of a couple thing. by the way-"
"Allen!" A girl's shrill voice called. Tyki removed his hands and retreated them to his coat pockets, causing Allen to sigh in relief and look up in the direction of the voice. His eyes rested upon Lenalee who was waving at them enthusiastically.
"Allen, I can't believe it! Did you get invited to Mr. Mikk's par- oh... there he is..." She faltered as her running came to a halt and her eyes set upon a slightly irritated Tyki. Tyki's annoyed look dissipated and he immediately hid it behind a polite smile. "Hello Ms. Lee, I take it you're coming?" Lenalee nodded slowly and stood next to Allen. The silvery haired teen was currently debating with himself on whether or not he had heard Tyki attempt to say something, but decided to dismiss it. He was interrupted from his thoughts when he felt a tug on his shirt sleeve.
"Hey Allen, Do you wanna get some food? It's a half a day so school ends earlier. Let's go!" She exclaimed and started dragging the boy away.
The Chinese girl was planning ahead, she knew what Tyki intended to ask- She snuck a glance back at the man who deadpanned and stared back in her direction --and she'll be DAMNED if that guy, despite his attractiveness, gets Allen! She looked down at the boy in question who had the cutest perplexed look on his face as he was being dragged and Lenalee shook her head sympathetically, poor oblivious Allen...
"WHAT, WHY NOT?!" Lenalee shouted. She and Allen sat side by side on a bench as they ate lunch. Allen had just informed her that he would be attending Tyki's party, but not with LAVI. All her hard work would be for nothing now!
"Because...*sigh* we are not exactly on good terms right now." He explained with a dismissive wave of his hand. Allen didn't care if he was the only person without a date. He wouldn't wanna go with Lavi anyway.
"I won't accept it. You absolutely must go with Lavi." She whined and pouted as she nibbled on her sandwich.
"I'm sorry Lenalee... I'm going alone." Allen sighed and got up, walking away from the bench. Lenalee perked up from her lunch when she saw Allen rise from his seat.
"Where are you going?" She asked tentatively.
"Home." Was Allen's reply as he walked out of the cafeteria into the sunshine, which perfectly contradicted his foul mood. He growled irritably at the intensely bright sunlight but started his long trek home.
"Allen!" A girl's voice called his name. He was expecting Lenalee, desperately trying to convince him to go with Lavi. Besides, she was the only girl he talked to regularly so he was very surprised when he was tackled to the floor by a small figure that was way too short to be the Chinese girl.
"Allen~ Will you be my date for the ball~?" The girl announced jovially. Allen groaned as he hit the pavement, stars dancing in his eyes. He looked down at the figure which tightly enveloped his chest in a hug and finally identified the girl as Road.
"Oh, it's you." Allen said, a little disoriented as he tried to pick himself up off the sidewalk and support Road at the same time. Road crossed her arms and pouted, "Is that how you greet a lady?" Allen actually laughed at this and patted her surprisingly soft, spiky blue hair.
"Says the girl who knocks people to the ground as a greeting." Allen chuckled. He was actually quite fond of Road, She was sweet.
"I suppose by ball, you mean Tyki's party?" Road's golden eyes sparkled and she nodded fervently. It didn't shock him how similar they were to Tyki's. Allen shrugged and nodded. So much for going alone.
"So, do you want me to walk you ho-mmf!" Allen was cut off when Road threw her arms around his neck and kissed him. She then removed her mouth from his and skipped off impishly, leaving a baffled and confused Allen.
"D-Did a middle schooler just steal my first kiss?"
