Kitsune of the Federation

Chapter Five

***Federal News Network***

"Causalities are decreasing all across the war fronts Sky-Marshall, have the Spec-Op's newest tactical data on Arachnids bearing fruit?" asked a Reporter, the young intern who spoke to the Colonel directly when the aftermath of Klendathu occurred. The previous Supreme Commander of the Federal Forces was last known to be slated in some administrator position to the new Marshall's war advisory committee. Ever since the failed invasion, the new Supreme Commander had been quite consistently spreading the news of victory across all sectors of war.

And the Special-Operations Forces were put on the spotlight on more than one occasion.

Rumors in the Political circles placed Dienes as a direct link to the Spec-Ops monthly operational reports, not that the public knew about that information. Lately the war had been going into a stalemate of sorts, on the frontier worlds were Arachnid shock troops landed to combat human settlements. The Mobile Infantry had miraculously turned the tide on multiple battlefronts, with the information from Dr. Lisa Thomas's book 'Insecticide: Arachnid Combative Hierarchy' in full circulation in the conventional forces. Sympathetic Arachnid Experts and advocates of the book hailed it as genuine information to save lives across the galaxy.

The opponents discredited the book, quite bitter about such findings among the 'cowboys' that were the Special-Operations Forces, but they were a small minority.

Apparently on Klendathu, Dr. Thomas's findings with the Spec-Ops Brigade had gained and been deemed combat effective when facing Arachnids on their home-world. One thousand Soldiers against tens of thousands of hostile insects, many were in awe and clamored to see the 'Son' of the Federation come back to Earth to inspire the populace to sign on. Many young men and women were charmed by the way the Colonel of the Spec-Ops Brigade maintained the mighty war machine of Earth to continuously win.

Victory in any situation, in any environment and never faltering. A shining aspect of what it meant to be a Citizen of the Federation. Many were courting the young military leaders hand in marriage, of the political, love and even more ambitious natures. None could say who he'd be with, his father now apart of the New Sky-Marshall's Staff Board didn't comment nor relate an answer to such rumors. As a father he had a responsibility to his son, to preserve his legacy and cement his new lines of blood to protect the Federation at its heart.

Also as a father, the man did need to keep his boy on his toes once in a fair bit.

But back to the conference at hand, the female Sky-Marshall spoke with a dignified grace that most woman lacked in the modern civilian world.

"I can confirm that Colonel Uzumaki's information is in effect, it's giving us an edge in the overall theater of war while no means it deters the danger that our troops are in. The new battle-plans are in effect hinder Arachnid Combat capability. Next question please." the vague answer let several of the reporters in the crowd frown, the last Sky-Marshall tended to rave about the Special Operations Forces but the new Supreme Commander seemed: strained.

The Newsreel reporter jotted down several notes off camera, a voice from a 'liberal' figure came up.

"Sky-Marshall, the reports of Colonial unrest are consistent now this far into the war. Their is talk of political change, especially in the Horse Nebula Systems. Is there a plan to settle the people's unrest?" This time the camera facing the female leader of the Federation took intense focus of her eyes taking a hard stance but nonetheless answered fluently to make most feel at ease with their government's power in the galaxy. Her voice did not once waver, nor stutter again making most 'liberal' thinkers wary.

"Disloyalty and fake propaganda to undermine the War's effort will be dealt with swiftly. I shall not endanger the lives of Trillions of our race to have rebellious incursions destroy us from within. The Federation is loyal to humanity first of all and never to traitors who wish to have us eradicated from Arachnids. I offer no sympathy to those of that regard..."

Camera flashes lit up the conference room, an adviser to the Sky-Marshall whispered something into her left ear as the woman nodded calmly. More reporters jotted down notes of various points of view to detail their columns back on Earth. Murmurs amongst small conversations filled the room, all in all a serene idea of a conference.

But among the darker side of things, people were scared and anxious about their new leader...

"Ladies and Gentleman I'd like your attention as I have an official announcement that Federal Intelligence Officers have recommended to me." The Sky-Marshall seemed particular delighted to know that one of her agenda's was coming to fruition. Many where concerned lately of the political and armament shift of the civilian population towards an antagonistic mood. The Spec-Ops were the Spear that drove the Federation's massive war-machine into its enemies.

She intended to use their fame, that respect and fear to make the rebellious Colonial powers bend to the Federation. A United Humanity had the resources to defeat the Arachnid Empire, divided they would fall to the seams of Archaic Chaos that would make their race extinct. The Federal Council's unrest and fear would all eventually come to life if this path were to remain open. Sometimes in order to win a war, one had to keep the populace happy, confident and most of all loyal to the cause. A cause that needed the lives and strength of every human able to fight the Arachnid Menace.

"From a decision made by both the Citizens of the Federation, along with the Federal Council we have implemented a new agency that will both assist the war-effort and make our worlds safer to live. I'd like to introduce the new Head of the Federal Bureau Inquisition: Selena Harrison, Mobile Infantry Major General." (1.)

The young intern looked on in private horror, the reformation of the Inquisition from the 12th century had become legal? Did every human lose their minds to not realize this was probably the damned opposite to the formation of the Special Operations Brigade? God have mercy on those who wished to speak about leniency, the former Sky-Marshall's in the past decades have never gone to this extent to maintain order in the Federation. Order had a fine line with common sense among the laws in place for the Federation.

All the Citizens worth their metal and blood voted on such laws that normal civilians had no prior knowledge off. To those who made the decisions in power, something had to be given to the populace to stop individuals from getting absolute power. A compromise, if you were willing to become a soldier in order to defend Earth or any human city, you had to earn the right in order to change something. So a good percentage of humanity maintained that discipline to keep the Federation from becoming an Empire-like state.

However this latest implemented 'control' over the masses, seemingly made it devious.

Selena in her Dress-uniform with various medals, ribbons and what not looked to be a middle age woman roughly near her forties. Young enough to make a statement that dedication and loyalty were welcome among those who served. But she wasn't as young as the more inspiring Officers who were figureheads to the public's eye liked Naruto Uzumaki Dienes, the crowned 'Son' of all humanity. Some in the crowd were talking between their colleagues eying the new female Head Inquisitor with varying degrees of anticipation.

The new Inquisition head didn't waste time, deciding to initiate the questions.

"Thank you Sky-Marshall I shall not put your trust and faith in vain." Harrison spoke conceitedly making several in the crowd watch, it wasn't that same emotions kept popping up in each person but the generalized mood of the mass of humans. Surprise events and announcements were always society bending, this new Agency or whatever it may be called just ramped up several viewer's heart-rates. Slowly but surely unrest eased itself within the crowd, ranging of various degrees of questions.

Few didn't speak from the surprise, but a lone voice stood up to question this new announcement.

"Excuse me General, what is your preferred title for such an nomination? And when can the public be introduced to this new Agency, where it stands among current Federation Agencies?" This question came from amazingly the same intern who had been making headlines in the News, a young aspiring writer working for a News line. Harrison merely smiled at this, as the Sky-Marshall listened in towards her adviser at the table facing the cameras. She took her time to answer before nodding again.

"My position is Chief Inquisitor, I oversee those in the Federal Bureau Inquisition who are multilateral with the various other Federation Agencies. We do not hinder them nor interfere directly with their resources so not to impede the war effort. Our mandate is to search for inner most dangers that will or will soon cause, human fatalities. My pledge is to save and preserve our strength as humanity, we consider all nor reject any."

Harrison took a breath as the young intern wrote down her comments, still not at ease mainly due to the stigma attached to such a name. Many among the crowd of reporters had written or were trying to form questions for this new Chief Inquisitor, but the lack of anything proactive made it difficult for those attuned to the former Sky-Marshall's policies. Most could understand the fact, Sky-Marshall Dienes's policy involving the war: "Humanity above all else." It was simple, but understandable for most of the general population to embrace it, fight the insects and that was that.

This new Supreme Commander, was much more specific but vague all together.

Another question arose from the masses, this time a more orientated Newsreel loyal to the Federation itself, based on Earth where information amassed. Several among the crowd held their tongues to not make a snide comment, idiots were everywhere in every profession. In this case, an idiot held the power to sway the public much to some liberal writers, who questioned how people got to this spot in their careers.

"Chief Inquisitor, does this mean you'll be working with the Special Operations Forces with Colonel Uzumaki? The People of Earth and the Colonies would be delighted to know of such a collaboration."

The new Chief merely smiled, her eyes sparkling with a light that made a few in the crowd realize what the look meant. It was excitement, more so anticipation when a person wished to have their ambition realized. An ambition that didn't seem well endorsed for the one who was the intended target, the more loyal writers to the Federation found a cold chill run down their backs. The way this General smiled, human instinct demanded that they flee from this new danger to their lives.

Rarely of the few, possibly one individual could feel a sense of dread as the woman answered with an absolute answer. None would dare question the sheer absolution in her tone...

It seemed to be inevitable.

"Indeed, we shall be working and deploying with them effective immediately."

(Klendathu Ruins)

"We got an angle leading us downward, I'd say we have another two hundred yards before we come to an intersection, Dr. Thomas."

One of the Scientists was monitoring a holo-computer(2.) on his wrist, the intern was wedged between several Charlie Medics who were trying to maintain a backward defense just in case an unexpected hostile appeared. No need to be sliced in half from your back, several cases of served torsos living an extra few minutes were ungodly fears among soldiers everywhere. That case of feeling the most insane amount of pain and unable to move or twitch sent sickness among any hardened soldier's heart.

Dr. Thomas moved towards her younger colleague, intently studying the protected sonar map that was pinged from the computer. The Sonar system was like of the old age sonar tech that mapped underwater tunnels in the oceans, in this case a more portable version of the system was used to make subterranean bug hives more easy to navigate. It was a work in progress, the few glitches couldn't detect side passages if shot vertically from a user's position.

All in all, the Sonar-mapping technology did its job. The efforts in trying to make it more specific were a mute point when a person was running away from the Arachnids. The idea at least in theory, was to make recon Scouts find bug holes and report back the distances they extended under the ground so that the rest of the Conventional Forces could 'smoke' out the hives.

Or in a more interesting way, send a small tactical nuclear rocket round to burn the living hell out of the Insects.

The procession of humans moving among the tightly condensed tunnel system really made Claustrophobia a real thing. Fortunately only the scientists were really effected, the Scouts were mainly more paranoid than normal but held firm to their training methods. All of the Special-Operations Scouts in the Alpha Companies had this motto: "To be silent, is to be vigilant, and to be vigilant is to be alive." The motto itself wasn't designed nor created by the Colonel, it was mainly the history of being a Scout that did itself the favor of such titles. Overall the Scouts did what they could underground, but the only reason they weren't faltering in their duties was due to two key reasons.

The idea of abandoning Colonel Uzumaki in a bug hole was condemning yourself to spend in hell, not any soldier would allow that sacrilege to occur. No man was to leave the apex of humanity at its enemies mercy. The lack of it all made the idea sicken any Spec-Ops soldier alive currently. Stead fast and loyal to the man that made their Unit the fighting force so deadly in the Galaxy presently. Also to have that stain of a black-disloyalty would make them traitors in the Federation's eyes.

And the second reason why the Scouts felt more secure...

Bravo Company Heavy Troopers guarded the Front and Rear of the procession, the exploratory force moved deeper underground away from the mass of the Battalion establishing the FOB in the Ruin's front. When several comrades had enough ammunition to slaughter hundreds of Insects, faith in them only seemed to be natural to those carrying the lesser amount of lead. Bravo Heavy Troopers with their leader Major Chris Redfield, made the Scouts feel even more confident. Having the best soldiers in the Federation only sparked that confidence into near blind-faith to pull through.

The multitude of flashlights from the soldier's rifles exposed more etched pictogram, more strange and unfamiliar languages sprawling to lead them towards some destination. None of the scientists found this reminiscent of Ancient languages back on Earth. Dr. Thomas tried to cross reference anything that they found here towards their databases, so far not a single thing came to light. Information about whatever was here seemed to be shrouded in mystery.

"Find anything useful Doctor?" Naruto commented idly, glancing upward to see some strange imagery of a humanoid sprouting some sort of limbs from the back. He really couldn't relate anything really, most of it seemed scratched shapes leading towards a circulation of objects that barely made sense to the human mind. It almost seemed like a guide or a history of whatever happened in the long lost past of the Cosmos, personally...

Personally, Naruto felt himself growing morbid that whatever drew him here, it wanted him here.

This whole place screamed at him, his instincts were alive and kicking at full blast. This planet seemingly a barren surface had brought him here through means of his own species and chance. The rest of the humans among him didn't actually feel anything off, but he did. This tunnel wasn't made by human hands, but it came damned close to it. Sighing lightly, the young Colonel absently noticed the rest of the soldiers alert gazes, even if they didn't feel at unease in this place.

They were competent and vigilant enough to not give it leniency. Raising his rifle slightly, the blond used his flashlight attachment on the end of the weapon itself to expose a part of the walls. He followed them up, as several soldiers did in a practiced manner, he came upon an interesting development of this structured tunnel. He stopped immediately making the entire procession notice at the action, they stopped as well with the scientists who were wondering about the cease of walking.

"Colonel, is there something wrong?"

Not speaking made several soldiers warily follow their leader's gaze, to only have their stomachs churn in a cold manner. During their time walking underground, not one of them had looked up to see a vertical square like tunnel shooting above them. Literally for everyone hundred or so meters, a shaft of sorts had been built leading upward to the surface or at least to a point above. What made Naruto stare intent was the fact that his flash light revealed a trio of slash marks, insect appendages which created numerous of them within the shafts depths. This situation could only get worse if anything hostile came into contact with them, the amount of shafts meant this place had to be a popular bug hole or at least, was in the past.

It just didn't settle well with the humans discovering the ruins depths, inhaling deeply the blond spoke out orders.

"Two men, eyes up all times. One in the Front between the heavies, one in the rear with the others. I'll look as well, so decide amongst yourselves before we move." He gave his orders as the soldiers obeyed, they moved in compliance as their lights now scanned the ceiling. Mentally going through several scenarios, the young Colonel didn't like this enclosed space much to his growing fears and it all stemmed to the Insect's capability to underground. They had the edge, no human Unit nor experience could overcome natural instincts that these Bugs could have when under the dirt. Humans naturally didn't evolve underground, only within forests and possibly the plains of ancient Earth. Perhaps the Spec-Ops would have to commit to a new form of combative, 'Subterranean Attrition'.

The column of soldiers moved as Naruto kept his eyes up, consistently as the Doctor walk next to him and he knew why, he didn't answer her immediately. Inhaling sharply, he spoke low and controlled watching the systematic square formations leading upward into the darkness.

"Just be aware of your surroundings, in this type of environment we can't be effective unless we bottleneck any Arachnids Doctor. Keep your team together, at all times." The woman nodded, her eyes were strong but her face was a pale, a strong woman all around though. She moved towards her assistants that were conversing amongst themselves and their tones became silent as the dead. Smirking much to his grim amusement, at least the Science teams were getting the hints early on. Keep silent and you might live a bit longer.

Just then, the entire corridor shook enough to make every human freeze in alarm.

Soon, their Communications flared to life as Naruto leaned his head over to listen in. The news was less than stellar as he closed his eyes in prayer towards the dead and soon to be. As it were, all the Special-Operations Soldiers could hear the Invasion suddenly turn for a worst, as various open signals bounced into the open atmosphere for each of their radios to pick up on from inside their Kevlar.

"Back to the boats! This is a prioritized retreat, all Units fall back!"

"OH...M...OD...HEL..."

"We need evac! There's too many!"

"PLEAS...NO...GOD!"

On that last transmission, a sickening crunching sound came to be and shrieking made every last human, feel their blood turn cold.

The sounds of the dying made Naruto glare angrily into the darkness ahead, screams and screeches of both humans, Arachnids alike set ablaze his mind. He wanted revenge, simple blood and blood for all those that were to know this planet as a grave. Hissing in frustration his eyes became a crimson red making all the darkness seep into a bright white coloration. Clenching the grip of his weapon, it creaked in protest from its inability to support the rage within the Blond Special-Operations Colonel who wanted to nuke this entire planet. Hell he outright wanted to destroy the damned piece of rock since no one would shed a fucking tear for those damned here.

But all the Federation wanted was: success...

"Continue forward, expect immediate hostile movement above us. If they didn't know were here now, they do now. Let's move it."

The procession picked up their pace as the transmissions from the Conventional Forces kept streaming in, it just hardened the hearts of the soldiers going into the heart of the enemy territory. The tunnel or whatever others wished to call it, started to slope downward much to their utter relief. Well, to those carrying the mini-guns since they were quite heavy to keep up at a brisk pace for. However one of the scientists called over to Dr. Thomas who then called out for the Colonel.

"Colonel! There's an opening not even sixty meters out. The Sonar-mapping is giving it out to be a cavern, but something is screwing with the signals our mapping equipment." Thomas had honestly no idea as to what the actual 'missions' the Spec-Ops were really on. Moving towards planets finding ancient technology that humanity hadn't produced, something was really down here on this fucked up planet. Naruto just moved to the front, idly having a soldier point his weapon upward to cover the ceiling above them. He bypassed Chris who nodded in confirmation since he could see the projected image on the Holo-computer, the screen was somewhat static like.

But the clear definition of an open cavern was there, it probably had to the size of a football field from preliminary calculations.

"So there's something here after all. Anything worth mentioning, sir?" Chris asked as Naruto came up behind Thomas who had both men looking over her soldiers at the mappings. Exhaling lightly the blond just retorted in a manner that most would consider, shrewd. "If I mentioned anything then I'd be a poor officer to allow details to be leaked. But in all honesty..." He moved tapping the holographic controls to try to clear the static, it occasionally fizzed out into spasms, the picture becoming crude but still steady. Inhaling to steady his heart, his eyes flashed dangerously when he lifted his rifle into a horizontal direction, bypassing the front of the procession.

"I'd say we got something, interesting. Let's move up to find out, Chris you're on point with the heavies. You see anything that gets your attention, shoot it."

Chris nodded, "Yes sir."

He snapped his fingers at the two heavies with their supporters, he moved up as Naruto preceded to follow though not before making a hand sign to the rest of the Spec-Ops. He made a slight fist pump then using his index and pinky fingers into a bullhorn sign. Most would consider it odd, but in reality: to the Spec-Ops it meant something else. Every military throughout history used hand signs, the Federation rarely used it extensively instead marking it with simple infantry based movements. Simple commands followed by a verbal technicality to those who didn't understand it, but the Special-Operations Forces knew that silence could be key when deciding who lived or died on the battlefields. So they used hand signs along with gestures to their comrades within an intensified combat zone.

So in other words, Naruto basically ordered them to do a defensive perimeter, splitting off once they reached the cavern.

The troops rushed forward as the column split off into two sides using their various weaponry to get all the fire sectors covered as Naruto walked himself into the center with the scientists. And to witness something extraordinary...

Everyone of the humans faces had a degree of shock or awe, at what they were seeing.

The cavern had branched off into a massive circular room, with pillars that arched upwards stabilizing the ceiling above. Carvings, or glyph pictures were decapitating events that none of them currently had the means to translate too. Almost the length of a football field, the entire cavern continued endlessly above into the darkness as dust clouded the air within the depths of the ground they were standing on. The smell of a dry yet stale atmosphere made several human throats itch immediately as they witnessed the details of this place.

Moving forward there was a path way leading upwards to some sort of stairway, a wide set of stairs where an entire squad of Troopers could stand shoulder to shoulder and still have room to fill it. More glyphs, scratch markings and what not covered the vertical spaces between each set of stone stair, giving out more information that none of them could bear to understand.

Dirt, dust and even sand covered portions of the stairway but that wasn't the most shocking detail that every Special-Operations Soldier was staring at...

No, there was something on top of the stairway leading into a triangular angle to have three sides covered in some sort of language, imagery and what not. At the top of the stairway, something circular stood out much to every human's thoughts. And one trooper within the procession summed it all up, in just three words that shook each soldier at his or her core.

"Oh my god."

Lying not even a hundred meters was a coffin, a stone coffin that seemed similar to the old styles of Earth back when the dead were laid to rest. Most of the soldiers didn't feel right within this room, as various flash lights exposed the darkness witnessing holes within the ceiling above. Naruto ordered tensely, while motioning to Chris to move forward with the heavy weaponry.

"Eyes Up, watch the holes since we all can guess where they all lead too now."

Covering the dome ceiling above were dozens, upon dozens of square like tunnels that must have been inter-connected to lead to this place. The young blond didn't like this, not even for a split second and all that mattered was that if something did come out. They'd be able to get a warning, at the least.

"If that is what I think it is, then we should have never had come here." Naruto spoke out, as the Spec-Ops started to secure the area as the scientists were moving forward with Thomas who was in a daze of sorts. Her holographic equipment was scanning the 'coffin' or whatever the flying fuck it was. Several Scouts were checking around pillars, staying in two or three man teams while idly clearing their fire sectors. The heavies were stationed on the pathway, keeping themselves separated enough so that they could support their comrades. Every human's mood varied from shock, to confusion and to flat out disbelief as to what was within that coffin.

Moving with the scientists team, the young Colonel kept his rifle trained above him watching so intently that he ignored the conversation beside him. The lead Doctor was discussing the possible findings with her peers and students, which were ambient for a better lack of a word at the potential discovery within the planet's crust.

"I'm picking up faint signals of an unknown origin, the possibility of any working technology will be a huge boon to humanity. Dr. Thomas, is it feasible for an unknown race to be advanced beyond our own civilization?" One of the younger peers, that the woman remarked in an eager manner that reminded some of the soldiers of a school girl finding a new book. It made several clench their jaws, they were within a hostile zone without air support or backup. The least these civilians could so was to be, more professional and subdue with their voices.

"The galaxy is still vast Sean, you forget we've only encountered the Arachnids since humanity had developed the means to traverse the stars. Early contact with the them have been hostile only recently, in the earlier times they were passive towards our colonization efforts; history has yet to be written! I have to include the possibility of another civilization in my next book to influence the Insects themselves!"

The two bickered or bantered, in some sort of manner that was mostly ignored by all the Special-Operations forces. Even Naruto kept his vigil, his body trembled unconsciously as he felt something within this place calling out to him. He could feel his bones shift, organs increase and his mind raced to understand why. Why? Why did he feel like something was trying to gain his attention as the entire force of the Spec-Ops kept moving while securing all their sectors of fire. It just didn't feel right, not at all.

"...Seek Me..."

With two words, every single human did an action within a millisecond.

They stopped.

Cold and immediately...

"Did anyone else just hear that?"

Naruto was the first to speak this out loud, mainly curious as various soldiers nodded mutely and even Chris remarked, "So I'm not the only going crazy in hearing voices? Great, we're definitely all the same page for once..." The sarcasm didn't alleviate all the paranoia and tension that spawned from those two words. Whatever the hell it was, its English didn't even fucking sound human or rather, came from a humans vocal cords. It's slick yet smooth tone just stopped every normal persons body with that command, whether it was intentional or not.

"Doctor. Scan that fucking coffin, or whatever. Now, for life signs! The rest of you, start sonar-mapping this entire god damn area. Spec-Ops, go thermal and do not leave each others line of sight!"

Each of the soldiers went thermal, using the square like re-tractor from their Kevlar to starting unveiling the darkness with a light blue from their dominant trigger eyes. The orders were given within a subtle message: Search and Destroy. Whatever the hell was deemed hostile, was meant to be engaged and destroyed within immediate contact. However if they were to do this, their Colonel just initiated the fact they had to work together as a Unit, so they had limited causalities.

The entire column of humans did what they were told too, Naruto moved with the scientists that were easily making their way up the stair like structure to its apex point. He felt uneasy as various imagery aligned the walls leading around this small cylinder like object. As they approached the feelings of anxiety, fear and sheer curiosity were overwhelming too make any think coherently. It only took each individuals willpower and seemingly wiped it clean, like a stain on a table top.

"Something's wrong, this entire place is too open and the only resistance we encountered has been two young Flyers. No, I know something is definitely off and its going to get worse. Son of a bitch..."

Thomas moved to the top of the stairs as she started to point her wrist mounted computer to scan the object, as a thin blue line started to trace the outer circumference of her intended target. A green laser started to move back and forth, as readings of particles and elements of granite came registering forth like a damn releasing water. The small computer gave off an urgent beeping that caused the doctor to immediately inform the Spec-Ops Commanding officer.

"Colonel! We have readings of an organic material within this...this coffin! It's completely unknown and not matching with any known DNA that the Federation has documented. I'm getting trace amounts of Carbon, calcium and oh lord in heaven!"

She trailed off abruptly as Naruto came up beside her, his expression worried and flat out irritated. Any information being withheld could certainly get them bitten in the ass later if things turned gory quick. Moving to the stand at the side of the woman, she seemingly was studying the information that her machine was picking up. Seconds seemed to last eternally as a day, as the wrist computer suddenly had a flashing screen. The machine had picked up sample and trace amounts of elements that were used in the composition of a life form, a living creature...

"Major, Sir. I got movement here, in the walls."

One of the Scouts reported to the Major viva his radio and who seemingly adjusted his heavy weapon.

Scanning the nearest pillar, the stone vertically didn't move as he continued to sweep the area. The Major felt the back the hairs on the back of his neck stand up in warning, as he veered around to see the distant darkness staring back at him. Inhaling slightly, the man witnessed his eyes seeing shapes move in the darkness itself, curious he flipped his thermal imagery from his Kevlar over his eye to pierce the veil that seemingly made his mind witness actions that weren't there. Blinking again the man thought he saw something alive but it vanished.

His thermal imagery found nothing.

So not a single life form was picked up, nothing was there yet why did he not feel reassured. Scanning the distance to the far end, it was roughly a hundred or so yard away based on the calculations his Kevlar computer put up. "I don't like this, at all. This puts the other Bug Worlds to shame, not once did we feel like we entered the lion's den but here: I feel like we've just poked a sleeping dragon. Something is wrong, something wants us here and not a in good way..." Walking past a stone pillar, Chris kept his eyes trained on his sides with his Mini-gun lifted at waist level ready to lay waste to anything that wanted a piece of him. Dust settled past his flashlight on his weapon and helmet, the trails of dust eerily started to level on both of his equipments surface giving the already pitch dark cavern creep back into its natural state.

Nothing was alive yet something did inhabit this place in the past, right?

'Crack'

Or still did.

Chris immediately swung his weapon towards the wall, a good thirty meters off behind his shoulder as a chipped stone fell down into the sand.

"Oh what the hell made that? None of my men are up there, so what made that thing fall!"

Trailing up the granite wall, the Major thought his eyes witnessed something curling beneath its surface as he witnessed miniscule cracks forming ever so slightly then to only disappear. Like the the wall was alive or...

He didn't know what to say.

But things got just worse from there on...

As off in the distance a muffled, 'boom' made everyone single Spec-Ops patrolling the area stiffen from the subtle effect. Chris's voice spoke up, "Eyes up and guns ready. If you didn't feel that tremor, get your asses back into groups and regroup back at my position ASAP."

He wearily watched the Colonel's back as the scientists were literally swarming towards the tomb as their various instruments were picking up readings left and right. Flashing screens of blue to red were evident as he watched the walls as various soldiers started to pick their sectors of fire.

Whatever the hell lived here, knew they were inside and started to move.

"Doctor? What are you picking up here?"

Naruto asked calmly yet stern as the woman shook her head to make him witness her paling skin tone.

"I'm picking up a feeble life sign, a heart beat and what's more astonishing is that trace amounts of radiation are emitting from this tomb. Not Nuclear, but its almost like a natural occurrence like its emitting this without trouble. I dare say it's natural radiation like when humans give off body heat. Again If its radiation, since the computer can't pin the origins of this particle being expedited from this..."

The cylinder like object hadn't shifted nor even remotely started to do anything. It was like a stone coffin, just with a gray like stone surrounding its epicenter and as the blond approached the center. His mind started to tingle with warnings as his entire body froze with his spine practically straight as a board.

"...Seek me..."

The blond, the doctor and even Chris all heard those two words. It seemingly flirted with their senses, as it seemingly became a whisper that drew them in. However unlike the two, only one had that urge to suddenly destroy this coffin as an anger swept over his mind. Snarling nearly into an open aggression the young officer moved towards the side of the cylinder like object, intent on smashing his fist onto is surface.

"Shut up."

An inexplicable rage just surged, his eyes nearly turned into red slits from something beyond his control. His Iron-Man suit literally started to hiss as reddish steam escaped from the sides where exposed skin didn't get covered from the skin-tight suit. He stood there staring down as various symbols and etchings were covering the surface of the coffin like object. His hand absently started to wipe away dust as spirals and other strange symbols were exposed to his helmet's light. Yet not a soul witnessed his increasing anger, expect for his own consciousness.

"Unbelievable, I'm getting stronger life signs. Stronger as in like a heart beat or something! I'm picking more traces of carbon, iron, calcium and bone marrow! There's something alive in there! One of you, start recording this immediately!" Doctor Thomas spoke out as the entire group of scientists themselves crowded around her now! Readings were being picked up as their excitement overrode any sort of caution or warnings from their minds. Naruto stood near to the side reading the strange symbolic lines, pictures and what not were dictating something to them.

But what did all this mean?

Why come here?

Onto Klendathu: so deep within the Arachnid Territories.

All for a recon mission and seemingly find a place that had little to no bug presence yet it wreaked of danger?

Whispers crept into his skull, as he winced shutting his eyes as words were coming into his ears faster than before.

"...SeekmeSeekmeSeekMe..."

"SHUT UP! ENOUGH!"

Mentally roaring out, his brain throbbed painfully. Hissing in frustration he shook his head to clear himself of the words, feeling the need to yell out loud he ignored it. Why in the hell did he have to come here? Nothing in this place even remotely matched up with the previous coordinates as pieces of technology were often discovered, small things but this just didn't add up. A full structure that was in the middle of a Bug infested planet that was considered to be the home world of the Arachnids. Why did all of this just feel wrong, nothing was meant to find this place yet here they were: standing at the brink of...

The brink of what?

Change?

War?

Of Time?

Sighing deeply, he started to study the exposed images. Perhaps taking his mind away from these damned words would hopefully get them to stop. His eyes traced patterns which seemed odd to him: they were increasing towards the center of the object itself. Very odd, as pictures or scratched rhetoric of some sort had that weird characteristic from the outside of the structure on the temple itself. When he reached the center, a huge pile of dust and dirt just covered it.

Inhaling slightly he blew it off, to see an indented...

Palm?

"What the fuck?"

It looked human yet it didn't!

There underneath a good inches of the actual stone surface, a humanoid like palm had indented a print that just didn't seem right. Literally, this wasn't a human palm nor even anything he had ever seen before. Blinking, the blond slowly crept his hand along the surface feeling the smooth texture, it seemingly was like marble. Smooth yet very defined, the coolness of the stone sort of felt like when someone left a rock inside a freezer for a brief time.

Cold yet not totally far along.

Nearly warm, like something had pulsing blood running through it.

"The temperature its rising! Doctor look, whatever is inside has a body temperature of a hundred twenty degrees! Unreal!"

Voices got turned out once more, as Naruto willed his hand to trace the symbols as a sort of tranquility formed.

A mental recognition came from this as his eyes wandered: so what the hell did this all mean?

However when his hand suddenly moved into the palm indented print...

"...Yes, you will do perfectly..."

"Oh!"

A triangular carapace like spear gouged itself through the blond's hand!

It reared up like a snake, before slipping into three small tendrils that embedded into his wrist, tearing through muscle and bone alike.

A tendril of sorts started to digs its way up his forearm, as the skin bulged from the foreign appendage starting to do whatever its owner required.

And then Naruto started to scream!

Agonizingly loud and coherent!

"Oh my god! Colonel..."

Doctor Thomas rushed past her peers as they watched in horror to see the blond Spec-Ops leader fall onto his knees with something imbedded into his hand. The tendrils were similar to a snakes let didn't even come close to the description of one. Blood seeped over the surface as a small echoed 'boom' shook the entire room! Every human felt their ground shift with the force of a small earthquake as several soldiers fell to the ground in shock.

"Major! Chris! Get over here! NOW!"

The said man immediately moved as the entire cavern shook, his eyes came upon the younger blond whose yells of agony were gut wrenching. Not one heard this man scream, ever and to see it was just soul tearing! Before anything more could be said, another massive tremor racked the cavern as he fell face first into the floor. He groaned in annoyance; what more could this planet had to offer to make their time worse?

"Whoa! Shit!"

He remarked alarmed when he witnessed the scene before his eyes.

Ignoring the urge to wince, his eyes picked up on the tendrils doing their work.

Coughing up dust, the Officer got onto his feet remarkably quick before reaching the civilian doctor as she had begun to futilely pull the blond away from the tendril like tentacle stuck in his hand. Chris noted that the blood didn't pool out, it was being sucked into the stone object itself! Snarling in disgust the much bulkier man heaved while grabbing the smaller blond off his feet away from the object. He found out that, his strength wasn't doing jack shit for the younger blond.

He barely budged as the man had to wonder if he was pulling a ton of weight! The blond wasn't moving as whatever had him, had the strength of a dozen men at the least! Try as he did, Chris barely could get the man to move an inch as the entire cavern shook violently, with cracks starting to appear on the walls behind them: falling dangerously close to them...

"Doctor hold him. I have to cut this damned thing!"

The Major acted quickly, he let the woman try to subdue the flailing blond who had fallen onto his knees screaming at the top of his lungs. Blood started to leak out from his ears as the woman cried out in a panic, as various Soldiers started to fire! Apparently the action here started a chain reaction within the cavern, as tremors racked the very skeletons holding onto their weapons.

"Contact! Its in the fucking wall!

"Negative, its underneath the ground!"

"What the shit is this thing! It isn't fucking dying!"

"Shoot soldier, just shoot it!"

Gunfire erupted, as all troopers were firing at something that got them into a frenzy. Tremors were so frequent that all the loose sand or dirt within the cavern were lifted off the ground. Vibrating so fiercely that it made it into an illusion that it was simply hovering, as Chris ignored all of this momentarily as he drew a ten inch knife from his belt. Flipping it expertly, he went to view the appendages that were cutting through the younger Officer's limb.

The Major gripped the arm of the younger blond officer who was now gagging as if something were within his throat. Sweating he noticed the insect like tendril had the blond's hand into a position that had some of it exposed under his wrist. Swiftly he brought the knife level before sweeping under neath the blond's limb.

And his knife sliced the tendrils in half, cleanly.

Along with a loud 'screeching' came forth from underneath within the cylinder coffin, it cracked as something shifted from within its confines.

"Doctor help me get him on his feet, this whole place is falling apart!"

The Major spoke out lifting the blond who was twitching as if in spasms. The two were making their way back towards the entrance as various soldiers were surrounding them, securing their passage and assisting the other Scientists who were flat out sprinting towards the tunnel. Every single soldier was either shooting or even directing others, as the entire cavern started to rumble menacingly. People panicked for good reason, as chaos erupted within its confines...

"MAJOR! GET DOWN!"

Chris and Thomas hit the ground immediately with the former dragging the two down.

The familiar sound of a 'wailing' came first to mind, as the mini-gun unloaded its entire pack as shell casings rained down upon the three. Coughing the Doctor was the first to look behind them as she gasped in horror, "Oh my god! What is that thing?"

Chris grunted before turning with the blond his shoulder, and he wished he hadn't looked back.

"Holy. Shit."

Two words, that didn't give creditability to what he described.

Within the stone like walls, a massive churning figure that was like a snake had awakened. Its body was so massive, it uncoiled itself while sending tons of granite down into the cavern. Huge clumps of rock and dirt were being moved as these coils were the size of large metal pipes. Nearly three or four feet in diameter as it belonged to something that no Insect on record came close too. The sheer size of its length put the well known Tanker Bugs to shame. The blackened carapace reflected the lights off the weapons the soldiers carried.

So he see his own face on the hide, to see the ungodly terror growing.

Nothing in their minds could describe the coils, as one part of the cavern wall collapsed as a massive 'screeching' sent their ears into a mess of incomprehensible pain! Their inner-ears were being destroyed from the high pitch tones that the human ear naturally picked up on, but it was worst. Stabbing sensations were causing most of the humans to drop to their knees as red liquid dripped out of one or two of the Spec-Ops! What in the hell within the galaxy could send a man's hearing into a bloody mess?

It last ten seconds before the cavern shook immediately as if these coils were angered.

And Chris, immediately roared out. "Everyone fall back towards the entrance. Get the fuck out of here, everyone move!"

Both he and the doctor immediately pulled the struggling blond to his feet, before moving with the rest of the contingent of soldiers out of the cavern.

But they had no idea, as to what the Colonel was feeling at this moment.

Naruto felt himself lose his mind. With violent images poured into his mind, as his eyes glassed over as both of his eyes were rolling back into his skull. Veins bludgeoned as they were under immense stress, blood started to become visible along the sides of his neck. All within a matter of a twenty seconds, his body had violently had invaded by a foreign substance that had been long since sealed...

But no longer, his presence had just altered a literal balance that kept whatever was within this ruins asleep. And it started to awaken, immediately...

Naruto roared in painful recognition as neurons in his brain suddenly burned with imagery being forced into his consciousness, the brunt of it all takings it toll on his body functions. He distantly heard voices as his vision became dark, as the last of his strength suddenly caused his mind to reject its own ability to control his body.

Only that deep sensation of someone tugging him was the last thing the blond heard, as he fell face first into the ground.

And blood leaked from his skin, setting off the Ruin's ancient process of releasing its prisoner...

I watched in horror!

War, death, destruction and the end of all life?

Why?

What the fuck was I witnessing?

The Galaxy was in flames, a being that had led monstrosity in the ancient past stood on a hill top watching the terrain below in flames. Flames of reddish black coloration that was not natural, the skies bled into a sickening grayish decay. The air started to rotten from the amount of smoke in the atmosphere as it blocked out the suns light from above.

Screams, the Screams were just...

Mere words could not describe my feelings, what the fuck was this? Hell, Armageddon or the extinction that was meant to be? My eyes strained to see the end of all things, why? Why or what did I deserve to witness this? I just watched in hell, as the fires raged all around me.

A humanoid like shape stood there, with orange like eyes with slits burning with a malice that no human alive could ever hope to achieve. It watched, waited and evaluated as the flames burned all life from the terrain below.

And it turned to start at me, my blood froze as cold hell fire seeped into my veins.

The terrain below, started to fade into detail as cities fell into ruins.

This was Earth!

Or what it was going to be!

"Run little Human, you're race will truly end since you have tried to end mine..."

A cruel warped inhumane feminine laughter echoed as the flames arose into the skies, as the blood billions had been unleashed...

"Oh fuck this, man!"

Two bodies dropped inside the collapsing tunnel, as the Major had to spit up some dirt that inhaled from his direct contact with the ground itself.

Chris rushed over to the younger blond, immediately trying to hold him steady as he was on the ground screaming bloody murder. Doctor Thomas tried to hold him but she cried out in pain as her hand brushed the fabric of his Iron-Man Suit. Burned marks appeared on her palm as the woman clench her limb, Chris witnessing this stopped short of trying to help his lead to his feet. Blood started to seep into the floor as the entire structure groaned from something straining its foundations.

Tremors racked the tunnel as various shots of alarm were rising.

The walls around them crumbled as sand started to pour from the holes on the ceilings, filling the path in back of them.

"Oh fuck me! Come on get him on his feet Doc! Now!"

The Major shouted out, ignoring the pains in his own hands he decided to the hell with it and hauled Naruto onto his feet. The younger male was knocked out cold, blood leaking onto the ground as the resistance that he initially had earlier had faded. The granite cracked as the reddish liquid...

Chris watched in stunned disgust as the ground swallowed the blood into the depths leading into the coffin as it cracked violently! What the hell was happening here? Why did everything on this planet have an appetite for humans? He wished he could have bomb this entire planet with enough Nuclear warheads to make this a miniature fucking sun. A preferably inhabitable planet that deserved all of its life to fucking to wiped out! Grunting he moved with the blond slung over his soldier as sand and rock came pouring up from behind his running body. His vision swirled dangerously as he pushed his body to the limits by earring the full weapon load out on his back, along with the blond unconscious man who literally was a dead weight.

Grunting as debris crushed the path behind him, he struggled to maintain a pace with the rest of the precision who were lifting wounded themselves. As chunks of stone and dirt dented skulls despite wearing protective gear on their heads. Rubble fell from the square like vents above their heads, as the daunting task of avoiding the said debris just was flat out impossible.

Flash lights flickered dampening the tunnel into complete darkness, shapes of human and rock mingled in a deadly game of 'hit or miss' as the Major snarled violently moving his feet near the back of the fleeing Spec-Ops. Behind them the muffled tremors, shocks and explosions of something stirring made the instinct of fleeing more pronounced within their bodies. When humans unfortunately tangled with larger predators, they tended to panic and their natural reactions just took a hold of their fears. In this case, they had awoken something far more terrible than they had initially ever conceived in the present time.

"Major! Look out!"

'Bang'

An Alpha Spec-Op Scout shouted in alarm, as he raised his rifle and pumped his shot-gun firing as the crack of the rifle hit something fleshy! Chris looked behind him only to see a gaping maw of a tentacle split open as rows of massive teeth were exposed. The thing looked like a carnivorous sand worm more than a snake, but the proximity was the more terrifying aspect.

No one heard this thing shift amongst the ground, since the entire structure was collapsing!

'Bang'

"What the shit is this? Where the fuck did this thing come from!" Chris shouted out in sheer panic, he just flat out started to sprint as the Spec-Ops Scout pumped shell after shell into the gaping maw of a screeching worm-like creature. Muzzle flash after muzzle flash illuminated the gaping jaws like a nightmare come to life, adrenaline kicked in as every human threw themselves into fleeing towards the exit where the open world would greet them. The more they could reach the open terrain, the less likely the panic would increase.

"What the fuck! It's not slowing down sir, I'm out of shells!"

The Scout alongside him spoke up over the crushing debris, as Chris screamed back over the collapsing tunnel as the weight of all granite started to make a groaning sound. Rocks crushed the path behind them, or did that giant Sand like worm crush its way through? Neither answer made it worth while to look back as the Major sprinted with the blond Colonel dragging his feet behind them...

"FUCKING LEG IT MAN! LEG IT OUT!"

Chancing a glance behind him, the soldier paled as the entire tunnel was empty...

"How does a thing that size just disappear too? What the hell is going on here and what in gods name did we just stumble into? None of our previous planets had anything remotely this close, this is a fucking nightmare..."

And he had to wonder, how did a massive worm like mouth disappear too? He coughed violently as dust and dirt got into his mouth. He hated this planet, oh did he fucking hate this place with a passion that most men hated hell.

The three humans were giving all they got as the Scout used his Suit's ability to enhance his speed as Chris got left behind slightly, the Officer didn't shout anything remotely scathing but only wanted to see that light where the rest of the Battalion was stationed at. He honestly doubted how much longer he could

Almost with the grace of god, did Chris see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Panting he made it as the tunnel collapsed behind him...

Dropping onto his knees, the Major felt hands reach around him as various Spec-Ops soldiers got him to get Naruto to safety. His heart raced so fast, it'd make the warp-drive that their Naval Ships used to shame in terms of the speed. Blood rushed into his head, as the soldier took a moment to realize that the structure itself 'groaned' internally as cracks appeared on the walls. Shaking his head, the man got up before running with the rest of the soldiers which two of them had the blond Colonel supported as he reached the outside environment.

And Pandemonium was all he witnessed...

His radio came to life, making the man slap his ear out of reflex!

"Incoming hostiles, 1st Platoon set up a kill zone. Bottleneck these..."

A Static cut off as another man yelled out in rage.

"They just took out our Lead, fucking bastards! Corporal Jackson, take command of 1st and get to a defensible positions..."

Death cries of agony and terror reined on the battle field.

"...AHHHH FUCK IT'S GOT ME! ARGH!..."

Various transmissions were being broadcast over the net, as the entire Battalion was under siege from an Arachnid Blitzkrieg of Aerial Units that none of their infantry could handle effectively. They were running low on ammunition's as dozens to nearly hundreds of Flyer Insects were literally appearing from around the entire clearing as if this were a colony of sorts.

"Rex! What the hell happened here? We leave for what, twenty minutes and this shit happens?" Yelling out to the man, who was firing upwards clipping wings as several of the massive Arachnids fell to the earth in a fatal rage. The man wasn't too spooked from all the conflict going on, as expected he just replied in a rather sarcastic humor.

"Wake up and smell the glory, Chris! We're under heavy contact, here now boy!"

Rex came up from in front of him, as the elder Sergeant Major smoking his cigar as gun fire erupted all around them. The younger man still breathing heavily from his quarter of a mile sprint could only see that dozens of Flyer Bugs were overhead taking down Soldiers left and right.

Dozens of disfigured bodies were strewed out over the place, limbs, organs and even pieces of humans that couldn't identified littered the ground...

Blood polled into small ponds, as thousands of shell casings were piling up all over the small clearing as Mini-Guns from the Heavy Troopers were laying waste to the skies. Seemingly it just came down to one massive massacre as bodies of both species were apparent. Shots, clinks, clangs and all sorts of noises were overwhelming the lesser experienced soldiers who had recently joined the Brigade, after all the Fifth battalion was literally the greenest of the Brigade.

"What happened to the kid? He look likes he went through a meat grinder!" Rex said walking up to the officer who pointed behind at the dust cloud seeping from the massive entrance. Various Heavy Troopers were in between the Pillars on the stairs, laying siege to the air as multiple Flying Arachnids lost wings and limbs alike to the massive amount of bullets. They made a continuous roaring sound as multiple Troopers were unloading whole packs.

"You don't want to know, what happened...DOWN!"

Chris threw himself along with Rex to the dirt quick, as an Arachnid nearly missed their heads.

"Fucking hell! All you need to know back in there: whatever it is, its big, its mean and we woke it up! Think we can get an extraction out of this mess?" The elder man just grunted while using his shotgun attachment to clip another Insect out of the air, the casings hitting Chris in the jaw making him hiss from the heated cartridges. Shell, after shell expelled from the weapon as an answer came in the form of a snark response.

"Extractions? Most of the Brigades Aerial Power and Heavy Armor is back on that other rock. We need fucking gunships to clear these skies, its just a wonderful day! But you are welcome to request it, because our Fleet has gotten its ass handed to them! Stupid bastards!"

Chris just threw his hand up in frustration, "What's the good news then?"

The sarcasm only made Rex laugh naturally, "That is the good news son, the bad news is that: we are cut-off from any reinforcements that can land safety without the boats being jeopardized! And..." Before the man could continue, a net-call came from the front of the clearing off the structure. Where the several companies had entered, a single call sign was given out.

"Confirmed to all Units, we got eyes on a Wave! Waves are inbound, everyone get into a position cause we got heavy incoming Spec-Ops!"

The Major's rage peaked, as he just swore completely irritated beyond belief. He blamed Federal Command for even sanctioning this mission: it blew dick and lots of it! "Oh fantastic! Warrior Arachnids already? How long did that retarded M.I 'Invasion' last for? Five minutes or five fucking seconds." Rex just grinned, with the cigar still in his mouth quite amused with the younger officer's emotions. The situation was just turning from bad into FUBAR without a moments hesitation. Increased weapon fire intensified as screeches of Warrior Arachnids came barreling into the entrance, as lines of troopers were going prone to avoid the Aerial contacts overhead in order to slow the advance the massive enemy shock-troopers.

Snarling, the Major moved towards a trooper who was firing his weapon at the advancing clusters of warrior bugs. He had the standard Radio Communications Pack on his back, Chris just took the phone like radio before transmitting a request to the whatever open broadcast channels that the Federations Fleet used. And also, the Special-Operations Fleet as well since he knew they would risk all to get them off this rock...

It was the regular fleet he hated to respond.

"Any Federal Ships still within the Klendathu Orbits, this is Major Chris Redfield of the Special Operations Forces requesting extractions from this transmissions coordinates. Be advised to our Spec-Ops Fleet, this is an immediate extraction that is needed immediately. How copy, over?"

The buzzing of the radio made waiting painfully slow, as the gunfire increased with the screams of the dying starting to come next.

"Major Redfield, this is Spec-Ops Cruiser Lancer we sending all available air-power towards your position along with all the boats to get you boys back. Confirmed, extraction. ETA Five minutes, Lancer out." The female captain spoke out was like music to the Majors ears, he'd kiss this pilot in a heart beat and he'd deal with all the repercussions later on. He bet that Naruto would probably use it against him for the rest of his life, if he knew his thoughts but enough of that: he ordered the Communications-Trooper.

"Trooper, get our coordinates up to the Fleet, burn these fucking Warriors out. Use Extreme Infernos."

The man nodded as Chris lifted his own weapon and started unleashing hundreds of rounds to stem the tide of the ground Arachnids while avoiding the Flying Insects who were picking off exposed Spec-Ops soldiers in the open terrain.

"Extreme-Inferno. I say again, Extreme-Inferno. I repeat to all friendly air units, Extreme-Inferno!"(3.)

The transmissions was responded with pilots of smaller attack craft inbound towards the besieged Companies of the Spec-Ops. Despite their time within the ruins, the full strength of the Unit that was sent to Klendathu's surface wasn't fully there. Four other battalions were back in another star system cleaning up the remnants of that world's Arachnid population, so they were under strengthened a great deal at this time. And not of all of the fifth battalion had even reached the surface, so they were out numbered against odds that wouldn't warrant survival.

"Confirmed Extreme-Inferno. Spot Coordinates, over."

The young communications Trooper pulled up a holographic computer from his wrist the same that the Civilian scientists had on their persons, the map highlighted his position with a blue dot before the actual map coordinates for the planet came up on the sides. Inhaling lightly, the enlisted did what he ordered as the sounds of the battle were overwhelming his hearing and the amount of weapons firing just made it worse.

"Requesting Close Air-Support, I need you to burn Arachnids out advancing West from our position at Five-Zero-Seven-Five-Nine. I say again..."

Across from him, the second in command of the forces had joined the ever increasing firefight within the small

Chris unleashed another hundred or so rounds, before his pack went empty. Scowling he shouted out to any one of the Heavy-Troopers Spotter Loaders that were around. "I'm out of Ammo, I need another full pack! Full pack, reload now!" Absently he felt someone start to switch out the massive feeders were the ammo casings were introduced into the weapon itself. A sharp yet quick adjustment and the barrel whirled as another full load of ammunition had been restored to the Major's own mini-gun. Shifting his shoulders enough to get the feeling back into them, he looked around to see that Dr. Thomas's group had all huddled behind one of the Ruins Pillars at the entrance to the right of the Stair-case that lead into it...

She was covering the unconscious Blond Colonel with a determined yet fearful expression. He chuckled to himself, quite amused. "Oh Sasha is not going to like another woman on top of you, sir. Good luck in hell when she finds out..."

An inside joke among the Spec-Ops that the two commanding officers were a pair.

Both were blond, had different eye coloration but polar opposite attitudes that could make any person look on in wonder.

"Nothing like amusement to lift the certainty of death, what a glorious day that is turning out to be."

Chris didn't consider himself a prude man, he just liked to take his mind off dangers that were coming close to breaking a man. They all had to cope with this War in some shape or form, in his case: easing his mind off the stress with a funny story...

Muzzle flashes lit up the darkened environment, as various screeching or shrieking from the advancing Arachnids made an ominous sight. Bodies were cut into pieces or cut cleanly at the base of the necks, with unused ammunition being salvaged in order for the still living soldiers to use to hold the tide of the monsters that were clawing to eat their very flesh. The smell of blood crept into the air, when more of the living joined the dead as the fight for the right to breathe came apparent. But the planet seemingly wanted to make their struggle even more dangerous, much more as Rex came up from the Major's left side: often firing into the sky with an inhumane precision to take down the Flying Insects wrecking havoc.

"Another storm is forming, the wind is picking up and visibility is going to be near zero. Our Aerial support better get here soon or they'll have to bury two hundred more bodies by morning." The Sergeant Major wasn't beating around the bush, he told the realistic and cold scenario as the younger Officer could only nod. "Agreed. With the Colonel down, we'll be left in shambles since we all really can't replace him. Hell, the only reason why I'm stressed out is that the man is down which hasn't happened before..."

Rex just grunted, "My student knows his limits well, but something tore open his hand like a tin can and his entire arm is discolored. I caught a glimpse when you were informing the Fleet, it's not pretty if we can't get a medical staff operating on him or..." He trailed off as the grizzled enlisted looked towards the East. Sounds of thunder and the roaring of jet engines made him smile, apparently that Air-Power had arrived a little early but he was glad to witness the allied air-units come in to start evening the odds for the Spec-Ops on the ground.

Clicking his microphone to broadcast to the troopers in front of them, "Alright to remaining Units, fall back to the Ruins. We got a fire-storm coming, anyone caught out in the open is going to be extra-well done. Move your asses, now or have fun playing in the fire!"

The response was immediate from the rest of the Special-Operations Soldiers, allied air power was going to carpet-bomb the small battle-zone. Both Chris and Rex's ears were strained as various acknowledgments came towards them, as the Communications-Trooper behind them was still relaying coordinates to the incoming Aerial Forces from the Fleet. They were clearing the way with the Gunships in support to tear through the dozens of Flying Insects swarming above them in the kicked up dust from the forming storm in the skies.

"Roger that! All Units pull back to the Objective. Form a Defensive perimeter for wounded. Saddle up, men!"

"Copy that, sir! Everyone pull back and...OH SHIT KILL IT! KILL IT! NOW!"

"Solid confirmation, Sergeant Major. Alpha Scouts rerouting to the base of the Objective immediately. Move it up soldiers!"

Out of the gathering dust, dozens to dozens of human shapes were moving. Some had reddish like steam from their suits as they were increasing their bodies natural ability to move quicker. Some had another Soldier with a limb or two missing, blood pouring behind them as the severely wounded were being treated on the go. Flashlights were exposed in the darkened dusty surroundings, as nearly a hundred or so Soldiers were forming a tight line leading into the still rumbling Ruins that shook slightly...

Most of the Bravo Heavy-Troopers were already between Pillars or high up on the stair case to support their retreating Comrades who were cut open if exposed. Chris downed another two Flying Arachnids as his thermal targeting system that slid down over his dominant eye could see the organisms flying in the cold skies. It was just a matter of hitting them with one's own sense of direction, as soon the remnants of both Alpha and Bravo Company had arrived at the base of the quaking Ruins.

"Extreme-Inferno is commencing. Be advised, of the blast radius and good luck down there, over."

The sub-sonic blasts of engines made all the soldiers get behind any sort of cover as a 'whistling' sound came down beyond their hearing. Chris immediately shouted, "GET TO COVER!"

Every single soldier both man and woman alike moved to cover each others bodies or the wounded, behind stone or not when the bombs dropped overhead.

They waited for a moment was it needed as the beginning of a total carpet bombardment commenced on the small battle field.

'BOOM'

Explosions racked the entire Ruin structure, Chris, Rex and all the soldiers of the Spec-Ops Battalion shielded their eyes as an intense heat washed over them.

A sickening orange and yellowed mixed into their eyes as hundreds of Arachnids roared in dying droves as the fire-bombs did their work.

And it was over within thirty seconds...

But this battle, hadn't been won: neither lost...

It ended in a stalemate as deep beneath the surface of the Planet, an organism had awakened from a deep hibernation.

Within the darkened confines of a stone coffin, two orange slit eyes opened as a feminine chuckle resounded from vocal cords not of the human nature...

It's time had come.

End Chapter Five

Author's Note: I know in the movie, Flyer Bugs seem a bit delicate when shot. But imagine dozens and dozens of these things flying around. Hence the whole Blitzkrieg analogy of them charging near the ground and taking heads off.

Well this took quite a bit, too much Dawn of War and some other aspiring elements were used in this chapter. I apologize if the scenes were too quick or rapid, the second part is intentional since within a fire fight things can get hectic quickly. I hope I captured the pace of a situation that goes from.

From Routine: into Fubar (Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition)

Certain details of this chapter come out in the next whereas the actions of this story correlate with the Movie. Next chapter I will have a meeting with Rico and Naruto but before he ever reaches his Unit: the Roughnecks. And then you start to see the aftermath and overall success of the mission(s) Klendathu Invasion and Spec-Ops Missions.

Before you ask: Why do I say 'Success'?

The Invasion, well if you watched the movie: enough said.

As for Naruto and his Special Operations Forces Battalion went in to Klendathu flying blind, under strength and out gunned to the maximum dangerous potential. It was risky going in, they knew and he knew but they believed they had a good sense on what too do. However, they made mistakes and were over whelmed when they the found the Ruins. It happens.

Along with their mission: were to Scout the Ruins that they recorded viva their Holo-Computers and they do so.

And from it was just a reconnaissance mission in practice, that Federal Command got greedy and wanted to exploit a new technology. The whole idea was to get in there and get anything of use while using the Conventional Invasion as a shield. And it was a bust, in the matter of not getting any new technology off whatever the alien coordinates are given out to be. You could say this was a terrible disaster, but it was a success in the sense that humanity just learned another trait off this war: humility.

The Spec-Ops went in without a full Unit and paid for it: therefor making it into the future, that they all stick together on one system/planet and not split up.

Back to the Klendathu thing, it really made the War more dangerous now. As they unexpectedly, to by extension Federal Command, unleashed a new enemy that will be exposed later on. But when I introduce this new enemy, its going to be a shadow war that is under the pre-text of the Arachnid Galactic Wars you see in the Hero of the Federation and Marauder (Starship Troopers 2 & 3). This conflict gets covered under the events of both Movies, so this whole story is 'Black-Ops' that no one in the Federation will expose. You can say that the Spec-Ops are a 'bad' secret like the Area 51 Situation in Nevada, USA people know about it but don't know what goes on.

Moving onwards, I've gotten some verbal support for this story: for that I say thank you.

I'm willing to do crossovers.

Yet without making an effort, its a mute point to try.

To the readers: try to write a good crossover, make it fun and detailed: because it worth the effort sometimes.

However without giving some effort in order to really see if it fits but that's the beauty of fan-fiction, whats the point?

So for that I say: "Do what you want, to have some fun."

Points of Interest:

(1.) The Federal Bureau Inquisition; the Acronym (F.B.I) is a gimmick and throw to the real life Government agency that the U.S has currently. The purpose is simple, look for rebels, anti-war politicians, rouge soldiers/Units and what not in order to secure the power of the Federation. Their mandate is too observe and assist the other agencies within the Federations borders, its more of me throwing a Dawn of War 2 Reference into this story without it mainly effecting the entire stability of the story. Last thing I want is the fucking Chaos Gods within a Starship trooper Universe; so don't go too crazy over that: its there to heighten the Tension within the Spec-Ops Brigade.

Having a Bureaucrat Agent sniffing around for any sort of rebellious incursion within a Military Unit will cause a lot of anger/tension.

(2.) Holo Computers- Wrist Mounted machinery that is used from the Federations R&D Division. Think of the Predator wrist mounted computer with a screen that is touch interfaced and has a working GPS map system. It's another gimmick that can work and is feasible for the humans in this Universe to create, as time goes on a few Spec-Op Troopers will be using it viva within their Units to keep in contact. An on-the-Move battlefield updater that will change ground war fare extensively. More Prototype, experimental tactics is used for the Unit.

Note I did say, I do incorporate other elements that can fit the bill in this story.

(3.) Extreme-Inferno: A Call sign to Aerial Support to burn out a battle-zone, uses of extreme napalm, fire and incendiary weaponry to waste all enemy hostiles. Its sued when the Spec-Ops are within a close quarter terrain and need immediate assistance before being over run. To be fair, the call-sign is corny but it gets the point across to make you as a reader understand it. At least its better than saying, "Bring the Rain.' If anyone knows that reference, I believe that is a stupid way to express that made me cringe. Not the biggest fan of that Franchise, at least I can tolerate it without most critics hating on Michael Bay.
