Chapter Nine

After resting and thanking the Makah Chief for his Hospitality, we began our journey back home. Once we were in the woods, Paul scouted ahead to carve the trail for us. Jacob kept looking at me out of the corner of his eye but said nothing. When we broke for lunch, he pulled me aside.

"Can we talk?"

I nodded and followed him along the path into the thicker areas of the trees. Once we were out of earshot, Jacob looked at me earnestly. "Sage, I know all of this is a new experience and I see you trying your best to be so accepting of it all. But if I have done something to offend you or harm you in anyway, please tell me."

"Last night…I wasn't exactly afraid but your actions make me feel uncomfortable. The first night we shared together, you placed your mark upon my shoulder in such a gentle manner. It was slightly painful but it didn't bother me much. Last night, your wolf claimed me. I-"

Jacob came closer and pushed my clothing aside to reveal the bruise forming around the second mark. He hung his head and asked why I didn't tell him about this earlier.

"Because I knew you would react like this." I told him softly.

He nodded and returned his gaze to mine. "My wolf, while apart of me, only sees things in black and white. Despite knowing that nothing happened while you were not by my side, a lot of the young men in the Makah tribe were talking about 'the beautiful mate of the young chief.' It drove the wolf within crazy with jealously. I can't promise that I will always be in control but I will try to assure that in the future he exhibits more control with you."

I couldn't remember how long it's been since I left the village. But I was determined not to return without my Sage. As I made my way up the mountainside, I lost her scent. I was becoming delirious and was quickly running out of food. When I reached a hot spring, I stopped and relieved myself of my pack. I knelt down and splashed a bit of the warm water onto my face. It was a welcome relief to the cold that had been eating away at my cheeks. I raised my head and looked around, surprised when I spied an alluring brunette standing on a tree branch. I splashed more water on my face and rubbed at my eyes but the image didn't disappear. She was watching me with bright gold eyes. I slowly backed away, reaching for my gun when she hopped down and moved faster than I thought possible.

"Who are you hunter and what is your purpose this far away from your home?"

"Riley. I'm travelling in search of my fiancée. She was taken by the wolves. Have you seen her?" I asked describing Sage and the savage animal I last saw her with.

"It has been a while since I've seen another…human. But the wolves, I do know their paths. I've followed them for a while."

I sized her up as she walked towards me, taking note of the chill in the air and the skimpy way the woman in front of me was dressed.

"Aren't you cold?"

She laughed coldly that sent an even deeper chill through my bones. "I don't feel the cold anymore. But at night this mountain becomes even more frigid than it is now. I doubt you will survive if you don't break from the trail now and make camp. I have a dwelling nearby that you may use for the night. In the morning, I will set you on the trail the wolves use."

All my life I'd been warned of the dangers of accepting kindness of those that resided in the woods. But there was something about the stranger in front of me that made me feel I could trust her, if only slightly. I nodded and moved aside for her to lead the way.

"By the way, what is your name?"

"Isabella." She called out.

Isabella's dwelling was more of a one room shack. But it contained a stove and comfortable looking bed. It wasn't much but it beat spending another night out in the woods, sleeping against a tree with a gun in my hand. Isabella went to the small kitchen area and pulled out some food. While I prepared it, she recoiled from the smell and stayed away while I ate. I kept my eye on her until I began feeling my eyes droop. She encouraged me to take the bed and she would keep watch. I tried to argue but my strength was leaving me. I barely made it to the bed before passing out.

Sometime later, I awoke to a weird rustling and odd slurping noise. I tried to ignore it but the sounds just got louder. I forced myself awake, surprised to find my clothing had been removed. I attempted to sit up but Isabella was straddling my body. She didn't look it but her weight made it impossible for me to move. She was naked herself, her head bobbing up and down. I leaned to the side, watching her boldness as she serviced my member. She scooted back a little and placed her own womanhood in my face, urging me to return the favor. I leaned forward and gripped her hips tightly as I licked at her folds. Isabella moaned and moved her lips with fervor as I slid a finger into her. She squealed in delight and ground herself onto my face.

I felt the pressure building and shouted as my load was released.

Isabella wiped her face with the thin sheet and turned around to smirk at me. "For someone who claims they are looking for their fiancée, you were quick to give in to Me." she began laughing as climbed off the bed. I had had enough. I jumped up and quickly grabbed her by her neck and slammed her into the bed.

"STOP PLAYING GAMES WITH ME," I spat at her. "Tell me where my fiancée is."

"Where was this passion just moments ago?" she croaked out. I tightened my grip in the hopes it would force her to give in but she merely looked excited. The air was filled with the scent of her excitement.

"How did you know I liked it rough?"

"Fine. We play this game your way." I smirked as I thrust myself into her. I took all of my anger and aggression at this current situation out on her body.

AN: I know in Twilight that Victoria was the one to turn Riley but I felt for this story it would make more sense if it was Bella. By the end you will understand why I chose her and not Victoria.
